Lyra's POV As I walked into the woods, a strange feeling encased me. My heart fluttered in my chest ready to jump out any second and my inner self did somersaults. I heard another howl which should have scared me to death, but like the genius Jen I was I increased my pace, unknowingly. It was as if my body betrayed me, instead of following my mind's orders it went on its own. It wasn't long when I came to a halt as a huge figure appeared from the dark woods. As it neared, the moon light fell on its black fur... Indeed it is a wolf. A male wolf to be precise. Now I feel my decision to come out in the middle of the night here in these dark woods to be completely stupid. It could eat me whole and no one would know. As it neared my heart beat increased, if that's even possible. Oh heavens! Can a wolf be called handsome? If so then this is the most handsome wolf I've ever seen. Though I've only ever seen wolves on screen, I don't think any wolf can compare to this one. He walked until he was standing right in front of me. My mind is not even controlling me any more as I reach out my hand to touch him but stop a few inches away. "Can I touch you?" I found myself asking. I really don't know where all of this is coming from. He leaned the rest of the way, closing the distance between his face and my palm. It was like he didn't mind me touching him and a smile made its way to my face. As soon as my hand made contact with his fur bolts of electricity ran all through my body and I heard the wolf growl. On instinct I pulled back my hand and stared in shock. If I were to describe the feeling I just had, I would say it was like the sparks werewolf mates have when they touch each other. Does that mean he's a... Whoa! Am I really thinking of it as a possibility? I shook my head to clear the stupid hunch I had. Come on Lyra! You must be imagining things. But somewhere deep in my heart I prayed it would not be just my imagination. Yep, I'm crazy about werewolves. So much that I pray to the Moon goddess almost every night to bless me with a werewolf mate. Crazy right? Although it sounds stupid but I need to make sure it isn't really how I am thinking it to be. So I stretched my hand again and I swear to god there were real sparks running down my body. Ok... Am I asleep? Is this how dreams feel like? I've forgotten the feeling of having dreams so this must be one, cause no way in hell can this be true right? I've seen people pinching themselves in movies and shows to make sure they're not dreaming. Ouch! No, not a dream. What now? Just another try maybe. I touched him again and there's no doubt it's real. I can feel sparks. "Is there any chance you are a.. um... Not a... and... Maybe a ...." I'm officially insane! Am I actually asking a wolf if he's a werewolf?! He's a wolf Jen! He can eat you right here, right now! "You're not going to eat me, are you?" What? Isn't that the most appropriate question to ask a wolf? Well normal people would try to run instead of talking to a wolf, but it's me. And... He cannot really be a werewolf. I have a complete night to think about it, in case he decides not to eat me for dinner that is. He shakes his head in a strange way. "I'll take that as a no." I say and we both stay silent for a while until I hear flowing water. Not knowing what to do I make my way towards the sound and he follows closely behind. I don't know why, but I kind of wanted him to follow me. Yup, I'm mad for sure. After walking a few steps I reach around a river and trust me, this is it. Not the town, not the hotel and not the night sky. This is the most captivating sight I've witnessed until now. Well not more than the wolf. f**k, Did I just say that? The town is so lovely no wonder it's considered one of the most beautiful towns. There was a small river flowing through the clearing between these woods and the moon and stars reflected on the water making it shine like silver. I moved closer and took a seat on a huge stone on the side. The wolf came and sat next to me. Making itself comfortable on my side he rested his head on my lap and I let him. God knows how I felt warm and safe instead of lying unconscious due to fear of a wolf lying on my lap. I mean I should actually die of fear rather than raking my fingers through his fur right? ****** Will's POV When I reached near her she actually asked me if she could touch me?! She's so cute and strong at the same time. Any other human girl would have straight away ran for the hills, but she isn't any other girl. She's my mate... So good it sounds. When her fingers made contact with my fur I couldn't help but growl in pleasure as bolts of electricity coursed through my body. She pulled back her hand and for once I thought maybe it was me who scared her, but she was actually shocked by the sparks she had. She recovered from the shock and a frown climbed her beautiful face, she seemed deep in thought until she shook her head and reached out her hand again. We felt the sparks again and she started thinking again. What made me laugh inside was when she pinched herself as if it was some dream and then touched me again. "Is there any chance you are a.. um... Not a... and... Maybe a ...." What is she trying to ask? "You're not going to eat me, are you?" Does she really think that? Who can blame her? I'm standing as a wolf in front of her and she's a human, completely unaware of the existence of werewolves. I tried to shake my head and she seemed to get it as she said, "I'll take that as a no." We stayed like that for a while looking at each other when she started walking and I followed her closely. She came to the edge of the river and stared at the view in awe. Meanwhile I stared at her. She's the most beautiful living being I've ever seen, nothing compares to her. She walked to a huge stone and sat on it. I followed her and fought the urge to move closer but gave up. I slowly kept my head on her lap, her heart rate increased but I could sense her comfort so I laid my head. Delicious sparks ran all through me and from the corner of my eye I saw a small smile on her face. That made me sure she wasn't at least afraid of me, or maybe it was the mate bond's effect. Whatever it was I was happy I had finally found my mate, but because she's a human it would be a mission to first tell her about werewolves second make her accept our bond and trust me and third mark and mate with her when she's ready. I can do all that but what is bothering me is the fact that I have just two months to do all this. All my tension faded away when she started running her fingers through my fur. I felt so relaxed that I didn't even notice when I fell asleep. I woke up with a vibration and saw her already wide awake. When did she wake up? She took out a phone from her shorts' pocket and brought it close to her ear. Having super senses I could hear both sides of the conversation and my blood boiled when I heard a male voice speaking to her. "Hey where are you?! I've been searching for you all through the hotel. Are you okay? Why didn't you inform me? Have you eaten? How-" "Hey! Calm down will you... Did you check the rooftop?" "No." "I'm at the hotel's rooftop." "Okay, I'm coming." "NO!" She shouted before speaking again in a softer voice, "I mean no I'm coming. I'm halfway there, wait for me." She hung the call before standing up. "Gotta' go, I'll meet you again I promise." She said and went running towards the hotel. We will surely meet mates. Now that I've got you I'm not letting you go anywhere.
