Rise of an Omega

CHAPTER 9

LUZ

When I got out of his car I went directlty to the girls toilet. I splashed water on my face inhaling and exhaling from time to time to calm myself down. I can't believe I did that! But I like it! I smiled to myself in the mirror. I look blooming! Do I really like him? But I don't know what he really wants. Obviously he wants me but he's fighting it! But why? I let out a deep sigh feeling defeated. Since I'm already thirty minutes late, I went to the library. I choose the ones at the very end corner of the library and choose a book for my research in history.

School time is dragging slow and I'm feeling restless. I feel that there's something going on but I can't figure why! Then finally the school bell rang and it's my cue to leave! But before I go home I need to meet Alpha Cameron first. Probably to give me a necklace gift. I already have collections of it! I even joked at him that I'll soon open a shop of necklaces and we laughed together.

After my meeting with the Alpha I went home. Our house is a small cottage but very homey and comfy. I open the door and shouted "Mom!" No one answered. I checked the whole house but I still can't see her. Maybe I should try in the packhouse. I ran to the packhouse and went directly to the kitchen but she's not there. Where could she be?

I need to talk to the Alpha maybe he knows where my mother is. They have a strange connection that I dare not to question. I'm already at the door when a warrior came running on the way to the Alphas office. I stepped aside and gave way to the warrior maybe it's an emergency. The door is slightly opened, the guard didn't closed it well in a hurry. He reported that they found a body while scouting. It's a woman who was in the clearing just at the Eastside border of the pack. Suddenly she feels all the blood drained on her body.

Her mom always goes to the clearing to the Eastside border to give thanks to the Moon Goddess for giving me to her. Every year on her birthday she stays there and pray for the Moon Goddess. My mother said that I'm supposed to be dead but then when she reached to that clearing she prayed to the Moon Goddess. And the Moon Goddess appeared and gave me life. I need to make sure. I ran to the place, as expected it is guarded with the warriors. I went through past them but they stopped me. "We need to wait for the Alpha." the incharge of the warrior said. I waited for a few minutes and Alpha Cameron came with Beta Jasper. The Alpha looked at me sadly and looks like he is also in grief for the lost of one of the pack member. "Can I come with you Alpha?" I asked nervously. He just nodded and I follow them. While we are nearing the area I'm feeling more uneasy. My heart beats a million times each step I take. 'Please Goddess don't let it be.' I saw Clarence with Dennis, Richard and one of the warrior. I couldn't see clearly yet because they are blocking in my sight. Or was it just my tears forming my eyesight. They look at me with sadness and pity. Why would they look at me like that? I continued walking and stopped seeing that familiar hair on the ground. "No! this is not true!" I ran to the body, head rather. The head has been removed from the body and evey parts are in pieces, the arms and legs. "Mom!" I cried and grabbed her head hoping for her to wake up. But it's too late! She's dead! The only person that I have is dead! "Aaaahhhh!" I shouted on the top of my lungs while embracing her head on my chest. "Mom! Why?" still crying. "Goddess! If you can hear me! Take my life again! How can I live now? Mom!" I feel frustrated, very angry!

I've been crying for hours. Just then I noticed that it's only Clarence left with me and the other warriors are scouting the area. "Who did this?" I asked without even glancing at him. "Rogues." he answered directly. "Let me burn her here." he nodded and mindlink one of the warriors to get some woods. "Do you need something else?" he asked. "No. Just leave me alone." he nodded. "I'll just wait for the warrior to come back with the woods then we will give you your privacy to mourn." I didn't say anything. I'm still sitting in the ground clutching my moms head on my chest. "Mom, I love you." I whispered in her ears. And again dam of tears are coming out again. The warrior came in with woods in his arms. They set the pyre and put the rest of the body on it and they left. Giving me the privacy I needed. I stood up and put the head on the pyre. Crying still, I light the lighter he gave to me and lighted the torch. "Mom, thank you for taking care for me for all these years. You didn't miss a day to let me feel how much you love me. Thank you for the sacrifices you've done for me. I'll take revenge on whoever did this to you! I love you to the moon and back Mom. I'll miss you!" and I throw the torch to the pyre. I kneeled down crying more, crying my heart out. I feel that someone kissed my cheek. And I know it's my mom. 'Don't worry mom. I'll find him!" I promised to my Mom.

I tried to walkback to the packhouse but my knees are getting weak. I'm feeling dizzy and very tired and I feel I'm falling. Set of arms caught me and I let my tired body and heart drift into nothingness.

CLARENCE

When I knew that it's her mom it broke me. Specially when she cried. I want to comfort her. I want to be there with her. I want to stay and hug her and tell her that everything will be alright. F*ck! I feel so useless! I wanted to cry too, seeing her like that. But I know showing her pity will do no good. I know she already hated it when she cried infront of others. She doesn't accept weakness.

I was talking to one of the warriors about the security of the area. When I saw her walking unsteadily. I quickly went to her and grabbed her just in time before she fell down on the ground. I carried her in bridal style on the way to the packhouse. She looks very tired that it squeezes my heart. Today is her birthday but the present that she got was very unexpected. And today she will get her wolf and I need to reject her. I know she just lost her mother. But I don't want to lose my family also.

When I reached the packhouse, Luna Daisy, my mom, greeted us. "Take her to my studio room." Luna Daisy said. The studio room is the place where she paints. As you enter you will see a small living room with TV and sofa. On the far right corner there is an island counter and the kitchen behind it. The studio room has two rooms on the left side. One for her paintings and the other one a room where there's a bed for her to rest. I set her on the bed. "Go now. I'll take care of her." my mom like her. She even treat her as her daughter. But 'She' ruined it! I dashed out of the room without saying anything. Closing the door behind me with a bang.
