CHAPTER ELEVENMARCUS DAY SEVEN Marcus hung up the phone. He was annoyed. He had planned on returning to Taylor and spending the night. But, a couple of guys had called in sick and now he was stuck at the station. He hated to hear the disappointment in her voice when he told her, but he had no choice. He jammed the phone into his pocket and walked into Joe’s office. Joe looked up. “All done?” “Yeah, I’m covering. I just called Taylor.” “Sorry about that.
