Taylor stood at the window and watched as Marcus drove away. She wished he could have stayed, but she understood. And if she was honest with herself, it might be a good thing. It would give her time to think. She had been laughing with Lilly when Mr. Miles had approached her. And she had been floored when he had offered her a job.
