CHAPTER THIRTEEN The first rays of dawn cast a golden glow on the horizon as I meet Finn at the edge of the clearing. We’ve been doing this for weeks now, training together before the rest of the pack stirs from slumber, but today feels different. There’s an electricity in the air that wasn't there before, or maybe it's just within me. "Ready to get started?" he asks, his tone light, betraying none of the ruthlessness he's known for among our kind. "Always," I reply, trying to match his casual demeanor.
