As I remember Vee's gaze lingering on Finn just a heartbeat too long, an unfamiliar tightness coils in my chest. Her strawberry blonde hair glinted like pale fire in the sunlight, and her laughter echoed with a lightness that's been absent since her pack abandoned her. It's a sound I've missed, even if it's not meant for me.
A pang of something bittersweet nudges at my heart. She deserves this chance at happiness, especially after everything she's been through.
