Eliza
I fell back on my butt not realizing someone was there watching me. Out of the shadows I seen a woman in a dark cloak with a hood walking out of the trees.
“Who are you?” I asked trying to steady my heart.
“My name is Amelia; I was taking my nightly stroll when I heard your cries. Coming this way, I take it must have been fate being that I almost witnessed your death.”
“Amelia as in the great witch?” she nodded.
“Why does it matter to live or die? Nothing good comes for me. I am truly alone in this world.”
“No one is alone darling. I can promise you that.”
“What do you know? You’re an all-powerful witch that is strong while I’m a weak omega that was not only taken advantage of but rejected from their mate! I am nothing in this world I wish to not live it in anymore!”
“Shhh…Sweetheart…I am so very sorry you had to experience that” Amelia said while she held me. I took advantage of the sympathy being that there is really no one in my life that I feel has any sense of care in me. I cried and hiccupped in her arms under the moon light. It wasn’t until I remembered the conversation, I had with Lily at the pack house. “Amelia, can I ask you something?”
“Yes child, you can ask me anything.”
We held hands together really getting a view of Amelia’s features. She had short black hair with glowing purple eyes. She had strong cheek bones and I noticed she had a nose piercing that had a chain moving to her ear.
“I know you recently spoke with another wolf named Lily. She mentioned a possible spell that can give me another life. Would you so kindly do me that honor?”
She looked at me with a serious expression. “First let’s get back to my home and see if we can achieve that. I want to be able to explain exactly what you’re asking me without others possibly hearing.”
I nodded and she then chatted something in a language I did not understand “Shut your eyes child”. I did as she said and closed my eyes and suddenly, I felt the movement like a shift in the atmosphere. “Okay child, you can open your eyes”
I opened to see myself in a small home which I am assuming is hers. I looked around and seen how clean her space was. There was a small living space that had shelves upon shelves of books that looked ancient. To the right was a small kitchen that looked so homing. Amelia walked up to me with a solid black cami dress which then dawned on me that I was fully naked. Right when I ran out the house, I immediately shifted that tore my clothes. Embarrassment washed over as I quickly put the dress on.
“Honey don’t worry, it doesn’t bother me. I have seen far worst in the world”
She comes over with a cup of tea and then leads me over to her sitting area. We sat down on her love seat, and I tried to drink the tea but everything in me is not even wanting to attempt to drink or eat anything. I feel lost and completely empty “Davina?” no response. “Davina please let me know if you’re okay?” again nothing. I began to feel the tears form in my eyes and the lump in my throat.
“Honey I know that feeling you have is something so awful that I do not wish on even my worst enemy. Your wolf is broken right now, and I take it she may be asleep to keep her from feeling the effects of the rejection”
“Will she ever speak to me? Or return to normal?”
“I am not sure child. Sometimes a wolf can heal and be able to move forward but, it does depend on the willpower that wolf has.”
I believe Davina is the strongest wolf I’ve ever known. Set aside that she is my wolf, she’s strong and helps me with my own insecurities.
“I wanted to be able to answer your question away from listeners. My home is in a protective barrier that no one can listen in.” I understood and gave her a nod to keep going.
“There is a spell. It’s complicated and does have causes of what you are asking for. There is something that can give you a new life or a restart to be able to break you out of the cycle you’re in. That means possibly living outside of packs.”
“What do you mean outside of packs?”
“Well to put it bluntly, human”
I stiffed for a moment, human? “How is that possible? I was born a wolf, there’s no way of having a spell that can take that away?”
“They call me the great witch Amelia for a reason child. I can perform the spell but there are no guarantees that you’ll be able to gain your wolf back.”
“Davina please! Let me know you’re there!”
“I’m here Eliza…Let her do it”
“What? Davina! I can’t allow that! How do I know if I’ll ever get you back? What are we going to do?”
“Eliza trust me on this, the Moon Goddess speaks to all of her children and I trust there must be a reason we were lead to this.”
“Davina what are you talking about? I am so confused and hurt are we really sure we’re thinking things through?”
“Yes Eliza, trust the process.”
With that she blocked me to where I was no longer able to talk with her. Not really paying attention to what was happening I was crying all over again. Now my wolf was going against me.
“Okay Amelia, I’ll do it”
“Fair warning, you will not have any recollection to your previous life. I do not have control after that. It will be mean doing a spell that would then reserve the wolf transformation and leave you with a memory loss that will be years. That means you won’t know who you are, where you’re from and all past things that make your life. Is that something you wished to deal with?” After thinking about it sometime and biting my lip to keep from more tears running, I nodded my head.
Amelia took a big sigh “Alright child, you must have endured the worst pain in life to where you want another do over. Like I said this would close the door of the connect you have with your wolf, and you will become human. I cannot guarantee that you will be able to connect with her once again but, this does give you the opportunity to be able to live freely with humans and no titles.”
I nodded again understanding what I was agreeing to.
“Get some rest here. You are going to need all the strength you need to endure this spell. It is painful and after it’s completed, I do not know where you’ll be.”
I took a deep breath to prepare myself. She escorted me to a bedroom where I nice size bed was available for me to lay in. She comes back with a veil “Here child, this will help you sleep”. I took it from her and downed it as quick as I could being that I was utterly exhausted from the emotional toll I went through. I laid down on one of the pillows and then began to feel my eye lids get really heavy. From there I fell into a dreamless night sleep.
When I awoke, I felt the lingering pain in my chest from last night’s events. I curled into a ball and began sobbing being that I never thought this could be my destined fate from the Moon Goddess. After having a moment to release my emotions I moved my way back to Amelia’s living space. She was sitting down with a pile of old books reading through like she was studying something.
“Ah, you were out for some time.”
“Wait, how long was I sleeping?”
“About 26 hours”
“WHAT?”
“Don’t worry, you needed the recovery from the trauma you faced. Plus, it gave me plenty of time to prepare this spell and also refresh my memory.”
“Have you done this before?” I asked afraid of what the answer might be.
“Once, many years ago.”
“How did it turn out for them?”
“I don’t have an answer being that I don’t have any contact with them after the spell has been completed”
I was not satisfied with that answer and now my gut was telling me whether this was a good idea or not.
“Come child, we are approaching the witching hour where I am at my most powerful.”
I felt the power within me too being that it must be a full moon tonight. We made our ways to a set of stairs I didn’t see yesterday Walking down I began to smell the herbs and earth. As we made to the bottom floor, I see a white circle in the middle with 5 black candles placed. There were white candles all throughout the space that seem to be burnt quite often. I see a mirror place in front of the circle, and she directs me in the middle of the circle and begins a chant. I looked at her thinking that I was not ready to start.
“Don’t worry, it’s just a protection spell.” I took a deep breath to ease my nerves.
“I will give you one more chance to change your mind.”
“No…I want this. I want out of this life.”
She retrieves a blade and motions for my hand, I open my palm and she cut a s***h over it. I squeeze what blood I can into a goblet that is now being mixed with specific herbs. My hand immediately heals, and she then moves to crush together the mixture with a stone.
“Alright, let’s begin” She snaps her fingers, and all candles were now lit.
