Davina
Itze gave me the rest of the tour of the campus. There were 5 classrooms on the campus, a few offices that belonged to certain people, an employee breakroom, a student breakroom, the supply closet for janitorials and office supply closet. There was a back door that led to a parking lot that students and employees use. I was so in awe and took notice of a class that was in session.
They had a medical assisting class conducting a lab. We were looking through the window watching them perform an injection to another student. Looking into the contents of the needle, it looked like some white substance when suddenly my mind flashed into something.
*A woman in a black cloak hands over to me a vile of white liquid. Her eyes were pure white, and she tells me to drink in a voice that sounds like many voices in one *
I shook back into my reality like I went into some trance or had a memory hit me. I felt my breath quicken.
“Hey, are you alright? Not a big fan of needles, huh?”
“Uh…yeah they kind of freak me out.” I tried to play into her thoughts.
“Me too, that’s why I chose to stay out of the medical field. I don’t think I could stomach all that comes with it.”
I nodded and we moved our way to another classroom. I found out through the tour that the college has a medical assisting program, a medical office administration program, and a business administration program. Having to see all of it in motion, gave me the feeling that I was going to enjoy this place. We were even able to sit in on the business program as they were doing a conference meeting talking about ideas about how to use proper marketing tactics, especially with the new wave of social media.
After we walked out of the class, Itze told me that it was time for lunch. We walked to her car and made our way to a fast-food drive-thru.
“What are you getting?” She asked.
“Um…Itze, I didn’t really bring any money with me today. I was in such a rush this morning I actually forgot my wallet.” Truth was, I had just finished paying rent and most of my bills that were due at the beginning of the month. So I really just didn’t have any extra cash to buy lunch.
“Oh girl no sweat, I got you. What do you want?’
“No Itze it’s okay. I’m not really hungry”
“Don’t lie, I heard your stomach in class. Now choose before I order for you.”
From that point, I realized we were going to be great friends. She was so kindhearted. I enjoy people like that around me. I told her what I wanted, and we made our way back to campus. During lunch, I got to know Itze. She was the same age as I was, 28 years old, no kids or spouse, but she said that she’s such a free spirit that she was okay being alone. Nothing to tie her down or keep her from living. She’s travelled all around the world, has her own place and a black cat she named Wednesday.
I told her that I was a mom of a daughter. Moved here at some point and was working at the diner before here. I didn’t know how to mention my accident or treatment, since I know that isn’t something you normally mention to strangers.
“Oh a daughter? How cute! I take it if you have a child, that you must be with someone.”
I shook my head no. “Oh shoot, I’m so sorry. One thing you will come to realize is that I am a complete dumbass. I don’t really think before I say something, so, please don’t mind me.”
I chuckled “It’s okay. I like your personality and confidence.”
She smiled nervously “Well, is it okay? I ask what happened to your daughter’s dad?”
I thought that question was going to come up so I cleared my throat. “Well…Steve and I were together and I found out I was pregnant. He seemed okay at first with it, but one day, I waited for him to pick me up from work. I waited maybe 4 hours. I tried calling and texting him to see if something had happened or he was caught up in something but, he never responded. If it wasn’t for my friend Kevin, I don’t think I would be able to keep going.”
At this point, I had this feeling like I was oversharing too much of my personal life with someone I barely knew, but Itze did not take her eyes away. I saw she was empathic to me. She reached out to hold my hand and said “I am very sorry you had to endure that. You don’t deserve that bullshit from anyone.”
I nodded, trying to hold back the bile and food I just ate with her. It was nice to speak from an outside perspective. Her touch warmed me, and she felt like an all-around great person. The day continued and sure enough it was 5 pm. Kevin text me he was outside waiting by his jeep, and I walked with Itze to the parking lot. She noticed Kevin and they immediately made eye contact with one another. I didn’t know what was happening between both of them, like they were in a trance with one another and suddenly I thought I heard the word “Mate”.
Kevin
I was excited about picking Davina up and she gave me a heads up that there was a parking lot behind the campus. There was an opening of a door and suddenly I was hit with the most beautiful smell of wildflowers. I knew what that meant, and I was scanning the area trying to find her. Kai was going wild in my mind, knowing what was happening. There I saw the most beautiful creature I have ever laid my eyes on. She had mocha colored skin, beautiful blue-grey eyes, long dark hair I wanted to run my fingers through, and her frame was so sexy. She was thick, curvy; I can picture my hands running all over her. From the look of her glowing skin, I bet her skin was so soft to the touch. She caught me looking at her and I noticed her breath was taken away. I know she’s human, so she won’t feel the bond as extreme as I do, but I can see she was starting to flush and get aroused by my appearance.
“Mate” Kai said, and I don’t know if Davina heard that, but she looked at me with a confused expression.
“Hey Davina, do you know him?” This goddess asked her in a whisper, unaware of my good hearing because of my wolf. Her voice was the sweetest thing to hear. Kai was pushing me to grab her and mate her, but humans don’t know we exist, and I don’t know how she would want to f**k someone right after meeting.
“Itze, this is my best friend, Kevin. Kevin, this is Itze. She was showing me around and pretty much getting adjusted to my position.”
“Hey Kevin, nice to meet you. Davina mentioned you today.”
“Well, I hope she only said good things about me.” I joked.
She laughed and it was the best sound I have ever heard from someone. “Yes it was good things but, she did not mention how good looking you are.”
She’s flirting, okay. “Well, you are quite the sight as well.” I winked. I saw her blush come to her face.
Davina looked at both of us, feeling like a third wheel. I cleared my throat “Uh, Davina ready to go?”
She nodded her head. “Well, I am Davina’s ride. So, I guess, I’ll see you around”
“I hope so” She said with a smile and walked away. I watch her hips sway to her car, admiring her big ass that my hands are just dying to squeeze.
“Hey perv, are we going?” Davina says, pulling me out of my perverted mind.
“You think she’s really attractive, huh?”
“What? Uh…yeah she’s cute.” Trying to play it off when I was buckling my seatbelt.
“Kevin, it’s okay. I know she’s attractive. Don’t worry, I’m not upset or anything. I don’t ever see you date anyone. Why don’t you ask her out?”
“Do you have her number?” I asked eagerly.
She reached in her purse to pull out a business card. Itze Sandoval, Admissions Advisor.
“Thank you Davina, I really appreciate this.”
“I want you happy. She may be the one for you.”
Little did she know that Itze truly was my one. My fated mate given to me by the Moon Goddess. I smiled as we drove out of the parking lot.
