For the first time in a while, Vaughn went home with a smile on his face. He felt like he had been in a slump for the past four years, and despite building his own successful empire, he still doesn’t feel complete.
Yet a little boy who’s fond of dinosaurs managed to make him forget the emptiness he’s feeling inside.
As he entered his penthouse, he saw Alina on the couch with a frown on her face.
“You’re home?” he said, sitting down next to her.
Alina merely clicked her tongue and continued looking at the TV.
Vaughn sighed as he loosened his tie.
“How did your reading go?” he asked despite her lack of response. He was in a good mood, and he didn’t want to ruin that.
“Awful,” she curtly said, finally looking at Vaughn.
