Chapter One: Shattered Ground
Kayla Michelle a beautiful young girl full of dreams who live quietly with her parents in a cottage among the forest. Kayla found comfort in the forest, where ancient trees shared whispers of the past and the gentle rustle of leaves calmed her restless spirit. In the simplicity of their family's humble hut, living life in there hut with love and contentment. Her parents were her world, her steady constants in a world. Although, Kayla's father,Robert was a highly talented carpenter with hands worn from years of shaping wood, yet surprisingly he speak to his loved ones gentle and soft manner. Her mother, Eliza, nurtured their modest garden with devotion, her infectious laughter brings joy to their home. In tranquil harmony, the trio lived a peaceful life, far removed from the village's turmoil. But the peace of Kayla’s world shattered one fateful evening. It started out like a typical day, with the sky glowing a warm orange-red as the sun descended. While her parents sat together on the porch, their quiet discussion tinged with love, Kayla was busy in the garden, gathering herbs as the scent of blooming flowers filled the air while her parent sat together on the porch, their hushed conversation infused with affection. But then, sundenly, the forest fell silent, its usual symphony of sounds eerily still.Kayla froze, a chill crawling up her spine. Even the birds had stopped singing, and the air grew heavy with an unspoken tension. “Kayla, come inside, now," her father called, his voice firm but laced with a hint of concern. As she looked up, she saw him standing in the doorway, his eyes scanning the tree line with a watchful intensity. Her mother, Eliza, had already slipped inside, a worried furrow creasing her brow. But before Kayla could even respond, a low, ominous growl reverberated from the darkness, sending a shiver down her spine. The sound was unlike any wild animal she had ever heard - it was thicker, more sinister, and seemed to carry a malevolent intent. “Robert,” Eliza whispered, clutching his arm. “Inside. Now,” he ordered. Kayla run toward the hut, her heart pounding. As she reached the entrance, a massive shadow emerged from the woods. The creature was unlike anything she’d ever seen—a monstrous wolf, its fur black as night and eyes glowing with a predatory light. It lunged. Robert shoved Kayla inside and slammed the door. “Stay with your mother!” he shouted before grabbing the axe he kept near the hearth. “Father, no!” Kayla cried, but the door had already swung open, and he was gone. Eliza pulled Kayla close, her hands trembling as she whispered prayers under her breath. The sounds outside were chaotic—the creature’s snarls, her father’s shouts, the splintering of wood. Then, silence. “Robert?” Eliza called, her voice breaking. She rushed to the door, ignoring Kayla’s desperate attempts to stop her. The moment Eliza stepped outside, the creature pounced. Kayla screamed as her mother’s body crumpled to the ground, her lifeless eyes staring into the sky. “Mother!” Kayla sobbed, her legs refusing to move. The creature turned its glowing eyes on her. But just as it started toward the hut, a haunting cry begin. Another wolf, smaller yet fierce, leapt into the fray, slamming into the beast with savage force. The two creatures fought brutally, their snarls and growls reverberating through the forest. Kayla could only watch, frozen in fear, as the smaller wolf drove the monster away, disappearing into the woods after it. When the forest finally fell silent again, Kayla stepped outside, her knees buckling at the sight of her parents. Robert lay motionless near the porch, his axe still clutched in his hand. Eliza’s delicate frame was crumpled a few feet away, her dress stained with blood. Kayla collapsed between them, her sobs echoing into the night. Her world, once so full of love and safety, had been torn apart in mere moments. As dawn broke, Her heart was shattered, her dreams crushed, but a seed of determination took root within her. She didn’t know what that creature was or why it had attacked, Kayla leave there since she has no other choice. " God, Why did you allowed my parents to die this early in my life?" She muttered as she sobbed. Minutes later, Kayla walked wearily into a place. The days after her parents’ deaths were a blur for Kayla. She buried them in the field where her mother loved to pick wildflowers, marking their graves with simple wooden crosses her father would have been proud of. The forest, once her sanctuary, now seemed filled with unseen dangers. Her nights were restless. Every sound beyond the hut’s thin walls made her jump—branches snapping, the wind howling, the faint rustle of unseen creatures. The memory of the monstrous things haunted her, and the smaller one that saved her lingered like a shadow in her mind. Who—or what—was it? Kayla’s world had been dumped, yet she felt a pull to survive, to uncover the truth. The monster had taken her parents, and she couldn’t rest until she understood why. One cold morning, Kayla ventured deeper into the forest than she ever had before. Armed with her father’s axe, she moved cautiously, her eyes scanning every shadow, every movement in the underbrush. The forest felt alive in ways she hadn’t noticed before—as though it were watching her. She reached a clearing, the very place where she had first heard that haunting melody days ago. It was quiet now, save for the soft rustling of leaves. Kayla’s heart ached at the memory of the mysterious man in the tree, the way his music had captivated her. It seemed impossible that something so beautiful could exist in the same world as the creature that had destroyed her family. A twig snapped behind her. Kayla whirled around, gripping the axe tightly. “Logan Outcast” “Flashback” Logan is a wolf but a different wolf from the rest of the pack, while the others were born strong, their wolves fierce and commanding. Logan transformation had always been with difficulty. Even in his shifted form, his wolves were smaller, weaker and slower. Among his midst strength was everything, and Logan's inability to dominate made him odd. Logan pack was led by an alpha named Rowan — a brutal and relentless leader who value power above all things , Rowan tolerated Logan for years seeing him insignificant among the packs He couldn't bring himself to haunt needlessly or fight for dominance when it is was necessary. He spent his time avoiding conflict . One fateful day Rowan sensed a nearby human settlement and he ordered the packs to descend in the nearby human settlement. It wasn't just about feeding them but asserting dominance, reminding the humans that they are coming to take up their territories, Logan hated these raids, but refusing to participate will make him a traitor. That night , the pack entered the village. Houses burned, livestock scattered, and terrified humans fled into the woods. He did what he could do to stay on the fringes of the chaos, but his anger aroused when he saw a young boy cornered by one of the wolves. The child cries melt his heart , and he couldn't stand by. He leapt into action, positioning himself between the wolf and the boy . ''What are you doing, Logan?'' the wolf snarled , his eye blazing with fury. ''This isn't necessary,"Logan said, his voice steady despite his trembling hands. "He's just a child." The wolf growled, snapping his jaws. "He's human. They're prey". "Not tonight," Logan said firmly. His defiance was a challenge to the pack's laws, and it didn't go unnoticed. Rowan arrived moments later, his massive wolf form towering over Logan. "You dare defy me ?" Rowan growled , his voice a low rumble that made the ground tremble. Logan stood to his ground. "This isn't strength, Lord Rowan . It's cruel." The alpha's eyes glowed with fury. "You've always been weak, Logan. You don't belong here . " Without waiting for an answer, Rowan lunged. Logan barely had time to shift before the alpha's claws raked across his chest, leaving deep gashes that would scar forever. The fight was brief and brutal. Logan didn't stand a chance against Rowan's overwhelming power. When it was over, Logan lay in the dirt, weak and bleeding. Rowan looked over him , his voice cold and unyielding " You are banished," If any of us see you again we will kill you ." Rowan declared. Logan didn't argue but kept mute. He couldn't. The pack turned their back on him one by one, leaving him broken and alone in the ashes of the village. Logan kept wandering around till he entered the forest. How will these two fates transpire ?
