Hi, I'm Laura Rose Allen. I'm 17 years old, I lost my family in a wreck. I was in the hospital for 4 months in a coma from how bad the wreck was. I thought it was just a bad dream but when I woke up, I wasn't in my bedroom, I was in the hospital. I Somehow managed to survive on my own. Still not exactly sure how but I did. The day I left the hospital changed my life forever. I found my mate when I went to the town's pack cafe. Wasn't even trying to do anything except eat and move on after the loss of my family. Find out more as you read my book about my life.

Sincerely,

Laura Allen

Chapter One
Laura My family and I were taking a vacation to Florida to go see my Aunt Vivian that was in a car accident that had left her paralyzed 2 months ago. "How much further until we hit a restroom stop?" I ask, looking at my mom and dad. "How about you look it up, loser." My brother glares at me. "Mom, Ben’s being mean!" I holler up front to my mom. "Stop being a tattletale, jerk!" Ben yells as he punches my arm. "Laura, Ben stop fighting and arguing or you both will be grounded from your friends." Says my mom. "That's not fair! He started it!" I say as I pout. My mom then turns to face us "And I'm finishing it. I mean it you two, act your ages, not your IQ." *All of a sudden a flash happens before our eyes as a loud boom sounds then everything goes black.* Some time later, I wake up and I notice that the car is burnt and on fire but I don't see any bodies in the car. I start to slowly walk around the car hollering "Mom? Dad? Ben?!" I hear absolutely nothing. What is going on? Why aren't they answering me? Then I see a girl lying on the ground a few feet away from where the car was in flames. "Mom?" I say as I slowly approach the body only to realize that it's my own body lying on the ground. Blood pooled from my body and black burns on my arms and legs. "No! This can't be happening!" I scream as I search the area for my brother and my parents. Just then, I notice a boy in the ditch and I slowly approach him only to realize that my little brother is lying there, his body covered in deep wounds and burns just like mine, blood pouring from his body. I try to touch his body but my hand goes straight through. I scream and cry as I search for my parents only to find their upper bodies only but a few feet from the front of the wreckage. I walk closer and notice there's something in my mom's hand. Leaning down I try to unwrap her hand to take a closer look but my hand goes straight through her hand. I hear sirens approaching nearby as I run to my body to try to wake myself up thinking I'm only dreaming but it doesn't work. I've lost too much blood. The ambulance arrives and they look around until they find my body. One of the only two who still has a faint heartbeat. They rush me to Wolfkin hospital immediately. While in the ambulance the paramedics try to patch up my wounds so I don't lose too much blood. They keep an eye on my heart rate to make sure I don't die. 10 minutes pass and they're rushing me into the operating room and working to try and save my life. The surgeon pumps blood into my system as they start to remove the glass shards from my body. Once he thought my body was stable enough to start healing on its own he had a nurse come in and take me to a recovery room where I'll be until my body has completely healed before I'm allowed to leave the pack hospital. Meanwhile, nurses come in and make sure that my condition is stable so they won't need any more operations in the future. One nurse thought she saw me move but wasn't quite sure. "Did you see her body move?" One of the nurses said. "No. But if she moved even a little that means she is healing rather quickly. But please just keep an eye on her tonight. My shift is ending but I'll be back in the morning to check on her. Just... please make sure she's ok while I'm gone." Another nurse says. "Will do ma'am. Have a goodnight." The first nurse says. The next morning, I wake up and see a nurse walking in with a clipboard and wheeling a medicine cart with her. "Oh well good morning Miss Laura. I'm nurse Landry and I'll be checking on you off and on. How are you feeling sweetie?" "I'm ok. Where am I?" I ask as I look around the room at all the monitors and boards confused. "You are at Wolfkin hospital. And the doctor told me that you can't quite leave yet until you're fully healed." Nurse Landry explains. "Where are my parents?" I mumble kind of low. "I'm afraid they were pronounced dead on scene, honey." She says as a tear runs down my cheek. "What about my brother?" I ask as tears start falling down my face. "They were almost here with him when he passed away, my dear." She states as she looks at me with worry across her face. Nurse Landry noticed the tears start falling so she quietly left the room and that's when I let all my tears fall. I end up spending the rest of the day crying because I couldn't save my parents. The next few days pass by in a blur and I'm starting to heal a little faster. When I'm finally able to stand up without crying out in pain, I decided to walk to a nearby café. I sat down and look over the menu at my choices to see what I could afford. As I'm looking over the menu, I see pancakes in the breakfast section, and with it being early morning, I decided to order some chocolate chip pancakes. Then I take a look at the drink section and see that they sell coffee, so I decided to add an Irish Hazelnut coffee to my order along with some chocolate chip coffee cake that I noticed in the dessert section of the menu. "Could you add some sugar and creamer to my coffee please?" I politely ask the waitress. "Sure thing miss. I'll make sure to have that ready for you soon." The waitress chirps and walks away. I zone out in thought. Thinking of how I'm going to make it all on my own being only 17. I hardly have any money to get a place. And I don't have my license to get back to my parents' house. Just then I gets startled out of my thoughts. "Miss, here's your order." The waitress says. "Oh, thank you. How much do I owe?" I ask her as I smile at her. "Oh no, you don't need to pay. You look like you're in a rough spot, so it's on me. Just please don't tell my boss. I'll lose my job if he were to find out what I had just done. Just, please enjoy." The waitress says then she quickly walks away. As I eat, I think about what it’s gonna be like now that my parents and my younger brother are gone. I finish eating my breakfast and take another sip of my coffee then I stand up to walk out of the café when I feel really dizzy all of a sudden. I go to sit back down and I collapse on the floor gasping for air like my throat was being squeezed. I grab at my throat trying to tear whosever hands were on my throat but I can't get a grasp on anything. As if nobody was choking the life out of me. I try to glance around as I see blurred shapes of everyone just staring at me as if I'd gone insane. The waitress who had brought me my order seen what what going on and immediately ran to my side then pulled out her phone and quickly called for the paramedics. When the paramedics finally arrived they brought in a board and lifted me onto it and rushed me out of the café and to the pack hospital to figure out what exactly is going on. The doctor comes in with a clipboard looking down at the paper "Are you Laura Allen?" He then looks at me. I'm calmed down enough to where I can actually breathe and talk without feeling like my life was being choked out of me. "Yes. That's me." I reply back looking at him. "Ok so the results say there's nothing wrong. But if it happens again, please come back." He says. "Ok I will." I reply as I stand up from the bed they had me in. I grab my phone and start to walk out. Before I get past the front desk, a nurse asks "How are you feeling sweetheart?" "I'm feeling better now. I honestly don't know what happened but I'm feeling better." I say. "Ok well just take it easy." She says. "I will. Thank you." I say back as I walk out. I'm walking through town and I notice a little girl drawing outside on the sidewalk. Her clothes look old and worn and it looks as if she hasn't had a bath in weeks. Her hair looks to be a dirty blonde. I walk up to her "Hi. I'm Laura. what's your name?" I look down at her. She looks up at me and smiles "My name is Avery. It's nice to meet you." "Well, Avery, it's a pleasure to meet you as well. Where are your parents? Are they around here?" I ask her as I kneel down on the sidewalk next to her so I'm at her level. She looks at me and her eyes sadden. "My mommy died so it's been me and my daddy. But my daddy scares me." I look at her confused "why does your daddy scare you?" "He hurts me." She whispers and looks over at a tall man talking to someone in front of a*****e. "What do you mean he hurts you?" I ask her quietly. She looks at me again and whispers "He hits me for no reason." "What's your last name? I'll see what I can do about getting you away from him ok?" I ask her quietly so nobody hears us. "Graivs. Please save me from that bad man." She says pleading for my help. "I will sweetie. I promise." I say to her. Just then the man walks over this way and I stand and walk away before he reaches us. I walk down the street and a couple she-wolves stare at me. They have beautiful yet short dresses on. One of them has on a blood red dress with what looks like a black belt around the waist and she has platinum blonde hair with a black streak on one side. The other one has an emerald green dress on has dark brown almost black hair with a blonde streak on both sides. I look away and continue walking. I walk past what seems to be the pack house. As I walk further I end up outside the town near what looks to be an old bus stop. I think to myself 'maybe there's still a bus that stops by here. I'll see how far I can go with what little money I have.' I walk over to the bus stop and sit on the bench and wait to see if a bus will stop. I can't shift like anyone else can because I'm only 17. once I turn 18 I will be able to so right now I have to depend on the bus or walking. About 2 hours later, a bus pulls up and opens the door. "Need a ride somewhere miss?" The driver asks. "Yea but I only have $40 right now and I need to get to Darkmoon pack." I say as I pull out my money to show the man. "That's ok I'll only charge you $10. I know it costs more than that to drive 5 hours but since you're tight on money I'll give you a discount on the ride price." He looks at me and smiles. "Thank you." I say as I climb in, hand him the money and sit down. The drive is long and silent as we pass through different towns. I pull out my phone and dial 9-1-1. Dispatch: 911 dispatch, this is Lacey, what's you're emergency? Me: Hi Lacey, I was calling to report that while I was in Lightsburg, a little girl was drawing on a sidewalk and I talked to her and she had said that her dad hits her. Dispatch: Ok miss, what's your name and who was the little girl? Me: my name is Laura Allen and the little girl is Avery Graivs. The little girl looked like she hadn't had a bath in weeks when I seen her. Dispatch: Ok we'll get an officer out and locate the little girl and her father and see what's going on. Did you notice anything else other than what she had said to you? Me: It looked like she had a few bruises but I couldn't tell for sure because while I was talking to her, her father started walking towards us so I left her side so nothing was started. Dispatch: Ok we'll have a look. Thank you miss Laura. Me: No problem. Just doing what I think is best for that little girl. I hang up and stare out the window and watch the beautiful scenery pass by. The trees are beautiful and full of life. I watch as birds fly in and out of the trees. I start to doze off when we come to a stop. I look around my surroundings and notice we're already in Darkmoon territory. I thank the driver and hand him an extra $5 for being so kind to drive me here. I get off the bus and start heading towards my parents house. I notice that alot has changed since I've been gone. I don't know how long I've been gone exactly but I continue walking down the street a couple blocks then turn left and walk four blocks to my parents house. Once I got up to the door I start looking for the spare key. I look under a rock in the small rose garden next to the porch and see the key so I grab it. I go back to the door and unlock it. I walk inside and lock the door behind me. The house phone rings so I hurry to answer. "Hello?" I say. "Hi is this Cristyne?" The man asks. "No. This is her daughter Laura. How may I help you sir?" I respond. "Where is your mother? I need to speak with her immediately." The man asks. "She's dead. She died in a car accident while we were on our way to see my aunt. I was the only survivor." I calmly said trying not to cry. "Damnit they already started!" I heard him say as I heard the line click. I put the phone back and I get ready for a shower.
