The Lonely Girl

Once upon a time there was a girl who wondered why she was alone all the time. She asked around but no one could answer her, so she decided to ask the whole town why she was always alone. When she was walking home she saw a sign that said the whole town was invited. Come to the one and only traveling zoo for three dollars per person! When she was at home, she saw an old lady and the lady asked her name. She wanted to mind her own business but she said her real name, Annabelle. The lady asked if she wanted to go to the traveling zoo and Annabelle did not want to lie so she told her the truth that she did want to go but she did not have three dollars to pay. Then the lady took out a golden wallet and handed her six dollars and said to make a friend. Annabelle was new to the neighborhood, so she did not have any friends, but she had time to get some because the traveling zoo would not get there until three weeks. When Annabelle got home, her mom asked where she got the money and Annabelle told her the old lady next door had given it to her for the traveling zoo and three more dollars just in case she made a friend. Her mom said that was okay and to put on a dress because they were about to go to church. The next day Annabelle was even happier than yesterday because she made a new friend at school and they were going to the traveling zoo together, but Annabelle did not have to pay for her friend. The next day at school, her friend did everything with her in class and even sat with her at lunch. Annabelle was happy that she moved here because she had a friend on the first day of school but at first she did not want to live here.
