Nobody moves.
Marian stares at the mysterious woman.
Hye-rin stands protectively in front of her.
MARIAN:
“You said I'm your daughter.”
She looks at Hye-rin.
MARIAN:
“Now she's saying she's my mother too.”
Hye-rin looks at the woman.
HYE-RIN:
“Don't listen to her.”
The woman smiles.
MYSTERIOUS WOMAN:
“Why don't you tell her the truth?”
Hye-rin's eyes harden.
HYE-RIN:
“You lost the right to call yourself her mother a long time ago.”
Marian looks between them.
MARIAN:
“Enough!”
Everyone becomes silent.
MARIAN:
“I'm tired of people deciding what I should know.”
She looks directly at the mysterious woman.
MARIAN:
“Who are you?”
The woman answers calmly.
MYSTERIOUS WOMAN:
“My name is Han Seo-yeon.”
Marian's face changes.
MARIAN:
“Han...?”
Dong-wook looks at Jae-ho.
Jae-ho is visibly shocked.
JAE-HO:
“That's impossible.”

— THE NAME
Marian looks at Jae-ho.
MARIAN:
“You know her?”
Jae-ho nods slowly.
JAE-HO:
“Everyone in the Black Orchid knows that name.”
Seo-yeon smiles.
SEO-YEON:
“Because they were taught to fear me.”
Marian asks:
MARIAN:
“Were you part of the Black Orchid?”
Seo-yeon looks at Hye-rin.
SEO-YEON:
“I was there before it became the Black Orchid.”
Antonio speaks.
ANTONIO:
“She helped create the original organization.”
Marian's eyes widen.
MARIAN:
“Then why are you calling yourself my mother?”
Seo-yeon takes a breath.
SEO-YEON:
“Because I gave you life.”
Hye-rin immediately responds:
HYE-RIN:
“No. You gave her blood.”
She looks at Marian.
HYE-RIN:
“I gave her a life.”

Marian's eyes fill with tears.
MARIAN:
“What happened?”
Seo-yeon answers.
SEO-YEON:
“I was your biological mother.”
Marian looks at Hye-rin.

“And you?”
Hye-rin takes her hand.
HYE-RIN:
“I raised you.”
Marian's breathing becomes shaky.
MARIAN:
“Why?”
Seo-yeon looks down.

“Because when you were born, I was already being hunted.”

A hospital room.
Seo-yeon holds a newborn baby.
Marian.
She smiles through tears.
YOUNG SEO-YEON:
“My little girl.”
A young Hye-rin enters.
YOUNG HYE-RIN:
“We have to go.”
Seo-yeon shakes her head.
YOUNG SEO-YEON:
“I can't.”
Hye-rin looks at the baby.
YOUNG HYE-RIN:
“If you keep her, Min-jae will find her.”
Seo-yeon cries.
YOUNG SEO-YEON:
“Then take her.”
Hye-rin is shocked.
YOUNG HYE-RIN:
“What?”
Seo-yeon gives her the baby.
YOUNG SEO-YEON:
“Raise her as your own.”
Hye-rin begins crying.
YOUNG HYE-RIN:
“And you?”
Seo-yeon looks toward the door.
YOUNG SEO-YEON:
“I'll make sure they never find her.”

— BACK TO THE PRESENT
Marian wipes her tears.
MARIAN:
“So you gave me away.”
Seo-yeon's eyes fill with tears.
SEO-YEON:
“Yes.”
MARIAN:
“Did you ever come looking for me?”
Seo-yeon smiles sadly.
SEO-YEON:
“Every year.”
Marian looks surprised.
SEO-YEON:
“I watched you from far away.”
Marian's voice trembles.
MARIAN:
“Why didn't you approach me?”
Seo-yeon answers:
SEO-YEON:
“Because if I did, the Black Orchid would find you.”

— DONG-WOOK'S CONFESSION
Dong-wook steps forward.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I understand.”
Everyone looks at him.
MARIAN:
“You do?”
He nods.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“My father did the same thing.”
Marian looks at him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“He erased my memories because he believed forgetting you would keep you alive.”
Marian reaches for his hand.
MARIAN:
“So everyone thought they were protecting us.”
Dong-wook smiles sadly.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“And somehow we still found each other.”

— ROMANTIC MOMENT
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“Maybe we were always going to.”
Dong-wook takes her hand.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Probably.”
MARIAN:
“That's all you have to say?”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I could give a speech.”
MARIAN:
“Please don't.”
He laughs.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Good. Because I don't have one.”
She laughs.

— THE OLD ENEMY
Suddenly, the lights go out.
Jae-ho immediately raises his weapon.
JAE-HO:
“Everyone down.”
A voice echoes through the building.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Marian.”
She freezes.
Tae-sung's men surround the school.
Seo-yeon looks toward the windows.
SEO-YEON:
“He followed us.”
Hye-rin looks at her.
HYE-RIN:
“You brought him here.”
Seo-yeon shakes her head.
SEO-YEON:
“No.”
She looks toward Marian.
SEO-YEON:
“He followed her.”

— THE BATTLE BEGINS
The windows break.
Attackers enter.
Marian immediately moves.
She fights using the techniques her grandfather taught her.
One attacker comes from behind.
Seo-yeon blocks him.
Marian looks at her.
MARIAN:
“Thank you.”
Seo-yeon smiles.
SEO-YEON:
“I'm your mother.”
Marian smiles.
MARIAN:
“Which one?”
Seo-yeon laughs.
SEO-YEON:
“Fair question.”

— MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
Marian and Seo-yeon fight together.
Their movements are surprisingly similar.
Hye-rin watches.
She realizes something.

“She has your fighting style.”

Marian takes down another attacker.

“Can we talk about this later?”
Hye-rin laughs.

Three men surround Dong-wook.
He looks at them.

“Three?”
Jae-ho appears beside him.

“Four.”
Another man approaches.
Dong-wook sighs.

“I was hoping you wouldn't say that.”
Jae-ho smiles.
JAE-HO:
“You're getting old.”
Dong-wook looks at him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I'm younger than you.”
JAE-HO:
“Not in spirit.”
They fight together.

— THE SECRET ROOM
Marian notices Tae-sung isn't attacking.
He's searching for something.
She follows him.
He enters the hidden room.
Marian follows.
MARIAN:
“What are you looking for?”
Tae-sung turns.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“The final archive.”
Marian smiles.
MARIAN:
“You're too late.”
Tae-sung looks at her.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Where is it?”
She points toward the floor.
MARIAN:
“Right here.”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Then open it.”

Marian notices three symbols:
A black orchid.
A dragon.
And a small heart.
She looks confused.

“A heart?”

Marian looks at the symbols.
She remembers her grandfather.
GRANDFATHER'S VOICE:

He moves toward her.
Suddenly—
Dong-wook appears.

“You heard her.”
Tae-sung looks at him.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You really don't know when to stop.”
Dong-wook steps beside Marian.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Neither does she.”
Marian smiles.

— THE FILE
Marian opens the file.
Inside is a photograph.
She recognizes the people.
Her biological mother, Seo-yeon.
Her adoptive mother, Hye-rin.
Her father.
Dong-wook's father.
And Kang Min-jae.
They are standing together.
Marian looks confused.
MARIAN:
“Why were all of you together?”
Seo-yeon enters the room.
She sees the photograph.
Her expression changes.
SEO-YEON:
“We were planning something.”

“What?”

And a sentence:

Marian looks at everyone.

Silence.

“Min-jae.”
Marian's eyes widen.

“He betrayed all of us.”

Her face changes.

She looks at him.

She reads the name.
Her eyes widen.

Dong-wook's father.
Silence.

Everyone turns.

“What?”

“Whoever created this wanted you to believe you're related.”
Dong-wook's expression hardens.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Why?”
Jae-ho looks at Tae-sung.
Tae-sung smiles.

“Because I wanted you two to stop loving each other.”

Tae-sung laughs.

He points at Marian and Dong-wook.

Marian looks at Dong-wook.

“He lied.”
Dong-wook nods.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I know.”
Tae-sung suddenly reaches for the file.
Marian stops him.
A fight begins.

— THE FINAL FIGHT
Tae-sung attacks Marian.
She blocks him.
Dong-wook joins.
Tae-sung is extremely skilled.
He knocks Dong-wook down.
Marian becomes furious.
MARIAN:
“Don't touch him!”
She attacks Tae-sung.
Hye-rin joins her.
Seo-yeon joins.
For the first time—
Marian fights alongside both of her mothers.
Together, they defeat Tae-sung's men.
Tae-sung escapes through a secret tunnel.
Before disappearing, he looks back.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“This isn't over.”
Marian answers:
MARIAN:
“I know.”

— THE QUIET AFTER
The school is damaged.
Everyone is exhausted.
Marian sits beside Dong-wook.
He has a small cut on his forehead.
She gently cleans it.
MARIAN:
“Does it hurt?”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“No.”
She presses the cloth harder.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Okay. Maybe a little.”
She laughs.
MARIAN:
“Liar.”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You worry too much.”
She looks at him.
MARIAN:
“Because I love you.”
He becomes quiet.
Then:
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I love you too.”

Seo-yeon watches them.
Hye-rin stands beside her.

“She really loves him.”

They exchange a small smile.

Later that night, Marian returns to the hidden room alone.
She notices something she didn't see before.
Behind the metal box is a small envelope.
She opens it.
Inside is a photograph of herself as a baby.
On the back:

She turns the page.
Another sentence:
> “You were born because we knew one day the Black Orchid would fall.”
Marian's eyes widen.
Then she hears a voice behind her.

Marian turns.

“You!”
Min-jae smiles.

“You weren't born to destroy the Black Orchid.”
He takes one step closer.

Marian's face goes pale.
