Rain falls heavily over Seoul.
A black vehicle stops several kilometers from an abandoned industrial compound.
Lee Dong-wook steps out.
Jae-ho follows.
Dong-wook looks toward the enormous building surrounded by fences and security cameras.
JAE-HO:
“Are you sure you want to go in?”
Dong-wook doesn't look at him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Marian is in there.”
JAE-HO:
“I know.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then there's nothing to discuss.”
Jae-ho smiles slightly.
JAE-HO:
“Still stubborn.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Learned from Marian.”

— INSIDE THE ROOM
— MARIAN
Marian sits in a room.
Her necklace is on the table.
Tae-sung stands across from her.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You're not afraid.”
MARIAN:
“Should I be?”
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Most people are.”
MARIAN:
“I'm not most people.”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Your grandfather taught you well.”
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“He taught me something else.”
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“What?”
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“Never trust a man who smiles too much.”
Tae-sung laughs.

— THE HIDDEN MESSAGE
Tae-sung leaves.
Marian looks at the necklace.
She notices a tiny button.
She presses it.
A small compartments opens.
Inside is a microfilm.
Marian whispers:
MARIAN:
“Lolo...”
She examines it.
A map appears.
The map shows the compound.
There is a red mark.
MARIAN:
“Secret passage.”
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“Thank you, Lolo.”

— THE INFILTRATION
— COMPOUND ENTRANCE
Dong-wook and Jae-ho sneak through the outer fence.
A guard approaches.
Dong-wook hides.
Jae-ho distracts the guard.
JAE-HO:
“Excuse me.”
The guard turns.
GUARD:
“What?”
Jae-ho points behind him.
JAE-HO:
“Is that your car?”
The guard turns.
Nothing.
When he turns back—
Jae-ho is gone.
Dong-wook whispers:
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“That was terrible.”
JAE-HO:
“But it worked.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Unfortunately.”

— THE SECURITY ROOM
They enter the control room.
Jae-ho searches the monitors.
JAE-HO:
“Found her.”
He points to a screen.
Marian is inside a room.
Dong-wook's expression softens.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“She looks okay.”
Jae-ho looks at him.
JAE-HO:
“You're smiling.”
Dong-wook immediately stops.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“No, I'm not.”
JAE-HO:
“You were.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Focus.”

— MARIAN'S ESCAPE
— SECRET TUNNEL
Marian crawls through the narrow passage.
She reaches a locked door.
She checks the mechanism.
MARIAN:
“Seriously?”
She examines it.
Then smiles.
MARIAN:
“Grandpa taught me this too.”
She uses a small metal pin from her hair.
The lock clicks.
The door opens.
She enters another corridor.

— DONG-WOOK FINDS THE ROOM
Dong-wook reaches Marian's room.
He opens the door.
Empty.
His expression changes.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Marian?”
Jae-ho enters.
JAE-HO:
“She escaped.”
Dong-wook looks around.
He sees a message written on the wall.
“DON'T WORRY. I'M COMING FOR YOU.”
He laughs.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Of course.”
Jae-ho smiles.
JAE-HO:
“She really is perfect for you.”

— THE MEETING
Marian walks through the hallway.
She hears voices.
She stops.
A door is slightly open.
Inside—
Tae-sung is speaking to a man.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You should have stayed hidden.”
The man answers:
MAN:
“I couldn't.”
Marian hears the voice.
She freezes.
It is Dong-wook's father.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“My son is here.”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Yes.”

— MARIAN DISCOVERS THE TRUTH
Marian watches from the doorway.
Tae-sung turns.
He sees her.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You found us.”
Marian steps inside.
MARIAN:
“You kidnapped me just to bring Dong-wook here.”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Exactly.”
Dong-wook's father looks at Marian.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Marian.”
She approaches him.
MARIAN:
“You know my parents?”
He nods.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“They saved my life.”
Marian's eyes fill with tears.

— THE FATHER'S CONFESSION
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“I couldn't save them.”
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“Why?”
He lowers his eyes.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Because I was too late.”
Marian becomes emotional.
MARIAN:
“My mother left me a message.”
He nods.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“She knew you would eventually discover everything.”
MARIAN:
“Why me?”
He looks at the necklace.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Because your parents trusted you with the final key.”

— THE FINAL KEY
Marian removes the necklace.
MARIAN:
“What does it open?”
Dong-wook's father looks at Tae-sung.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“The Black Orchid archive.”
Tae-sung becomes angry.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Enough.”
He reaches for the necklace.
Marian steps back.
Suddenly—
BANG!
The door flies open.
Lee Dong-wook enters.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Step away from her.”
Marian smiles.
MARIAN:
“You took your time.”
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You escaped before I got here.”
MARIAN:
“I was bored.”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Of course you were.”

— FATHER AND SON
Dong-wook looks at the man standing beside Tae-sung.
His father.
They stare at each other.
No one speaks.
Finally—
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Dad?”
His father nods.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Dong-wook.”
Dong-wook's eyes fill with tears.
He walks toward him.
Then stops.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I thought you were dead.”
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“I know.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You left me.”
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“I was trying to protect you.”
Dong-wook's voice breaks.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I didn't need protection.”
His father looks at him.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“You were my son.”
A long silence.
Then Dong-wook hugs him.
His father hugs him back.

Tae-sung watches them.
He slowly claps.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“How touching.”
Everyone turns.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Unfortunately, this reunion has to end.”
Jae-ho appears behind him.
JAE-HO:
“I don't think so.”
Tae-sung turns.
Jae-ho has his weapon aimed at him.
JAE-HO:
“It's over.”
Tae-sung laughs.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You really believe that?”

— THE BIG FIGHT
Suddenly, alarms sound.
The compound goes into lockdown.
Doors slam shut.
Guards flood the corridor.
Dong-wook takes Marian's hand.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Stay with me.”
MARIAN:
“Always.”
They fight together.
Marian takes down one attacker.
Dong-wook blocks another.
Jae-ho fights on the other side.
Dong-wook's father joins them.
Marian looks surprised.
MARIAN:
“He can fight?”
Dong-wook smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Apparently.”
His father knocks an attacker down.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“I wasn't always old.”
Marian laughs.
MARIAN:
“I like him.”
Dong-wook looks offended.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Why does everyone like my father more than me?”
Marian laughs.
MARIAN:
“Jealous?”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“A little.”

— THE SECRET ARCHIVE
They reach a huge metal door.
Marian holds up the necklace.
The orchid symbol lights up.
The door opens.
Inside is a massive archive.
Files.
Photographs.
Computers.
Names.
Marian walks in slowly.
MARIAN:
“This is everything.”
Dong-wook's father nods.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Evidence.”
Jae-ho looks at the files.
JAE-HO:
“Enough to destroy the Black Orchid.”
Marian looks around.
Then sees a file.
Her name.
MARIAN DEGUZMAN
She opens it.
Inside is a photograph of her as a child.
And another photograph—
Her parents standing with Tae-sung.

— THE SHOCK
Marian turns the page.
Her face becomes pale.
MARIAN:
“No.”
Dong-wook approaches.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What is it?”
She hands him the file.
It says:
> PROJECT MARIAN
Dong-wook looks shocked.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What is this?”
His father looks at it.
He becomes pale.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Your parents never told you.”
Marian's voice trembles.
MARIAN:
“Told me what?”
He looks at her.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“You weren't just protecting the evidence.”
A pause.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“You were the evidence.”

— MARIAN BREAKS DOWN
Marian steps backward.
MARIAN:
“What does that mean?”
Antonio enters.
He has followed them into the archive.
He looks devastated.
ANTONIO:
“Your parents discovered that Tae-sung's organization had been experimenting on people's memories.”
Marian freezes.
MARIAN:
“What?”
Antonio continues.
ANTONIO:
“They discovered a way to hide information inside a person's memory.”
Marian touches her head.
MARIAN:
“My memories?”
Antonio nods.
ANTONIO:
“Yes.”

— DONG-WOOK'S PROMISE
Marian begins crying.
Dong-wook approaches her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Look at me.”
She does.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Whatever they did...”
He takes her hand.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You're still you.”
She cries.
MARIAN:
“What if I don't know myself anymore?”
He gently touches her face.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then we'll discover you together.”
She embraces him.
He holds her tightly.

TAE-SUNG'S FINAL MOVE
A slow clap echoes through the archive.
Everyone turns.
Tae-sung stands at the doorway.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Beautiful.”
Dong-wook steps forward.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“It's over.”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“No.”
He presses a button.
The entire archive begins to self-destruct.
JAE-HO:
“Everyone out!”
Alarms scream.
Files begin burning.
Marian grabs the file.
Dong-wook grabs her hand.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Run!”

— THE ESCAPE
Everyone races through the corridors.
Explosions shake the building.
A ceiling collapses.
Dong-wook pushes Marian out of the way.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook!”
He gets back up.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I'm fine.”
She grabs his face.
MARIAN:
“Don't scare me like that.”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Sorry.”
MARIAN:
“Don't say sorry.”
She kisses him quickly.
MARIAN:
“Just stay alive.”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Deal.”
THE LAST FILE
They escape the compound.
Everyone is safe.
But Marian realizes something.
She still has one file.
She opens it.
Inside is a single photograph.
A man stands beside her parents.
It isn't Tae-sung.
It isn't Antonio.
It isn't Dong-wook's father.
It's someone else.
Marian looks at the name underneath.
Her face goes pale.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook...”
He looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What?”
She hands him the photograph.
He reads the name.
His expression changes completely.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“No.”
MARIAN:
“Who is he?”
Dong-wook looks toward his father.
His father sees the photograph.
He whispers:
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“That's the real founder.”
Jae-ho asks:
JAE-HO:
“Who?”
Dong-wook's father looks terrified.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Someone we all thought died thirty years ago.”
A car suddenly stops nearby.
The door opens.
A man's voice calls out:
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“Antonio.”
Everyone turns.
The man steps into the light.
Antonio's eyes widen.
ANTONIO:
“You...”
The mysterious man smiles.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“It's been a long time.”
Marian steps closer to Dong-wook.
The man's eyes move toward her.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“And you're Marian.”
He smiles.
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“Your parents were very brave.”
Marian's expression hardens.
MARIAN:
“Who are you?”
The man answers:
MYSTERIOUS MAN:
“My name is Kang Min-jae.”
A pause.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“And I am the reason your parents died.”
Dong-wook steps in front of Marian.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then you're going to answer for it.”
Min-jae smiles.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“I've been waiting thirty years for someone to say that.”
