— THE MOUNTAIN ROAD
The rain has stopped.
Lee Dong-wook drives through a quiet mountain road while Marian looks out the window.
The black car that followed them is gone.
Marian holds the mysterious key tightly.
MARIAN:
“Do you think someone is still following us?”
Dong-wook checks the mirror.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Probably.”
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“You said that way too calmly.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I've gotten used to dangerous situations.”
She laughs.
MARIAN:
“I haven't.”
He glances at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You fought six armed men yesterday.”
MARIAN:
“I was motivated.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“By what?”
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“You.”
Dong-wook smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then I'll try to stay useful.”

— THE CHILDHOOD HOUSE
— ARRIVAL
The car stops in front of an old house surrounded by trees.
Marian gets out.
She looks at the house.
MARIAN:
“I haven't been here since I was a child.”
Dong-wook joins her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Are you okay?”
She nods.
MARIAN:
“I think so.”
He takes her hand.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“We don't have to go inside.”
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“No.”
She takes a deep breath.
MARIAN:
“I've spent my whole life running from the past.”
She looks at the house.
MARIAN:
“It's time I face it.”

— THE OLD PHOTOGRAPH
Inside the house, dust covers everything.
Marian walks into the living room.
She sees an old family photograph.
Her parents.
Antonio.
Dong-wook's father.
And two young boys.
She looks carefully.
MARIAN:
“That's Jae-ho.”
Dong-wook looks at the photograph.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“And that's me.”
Marian smiles.
MARIAN:
“We were all here.”
Then she notices something.
There is another person standing behind them.
His face has been scratched out.
MARIAN:
“Who's that?”
Dong-wook doesn't know.

— A MEMORY
Marian touches the photograph.
Suddenly—
She remembers.
A little Marian is running through the house.
Young Dong-wook is chasing her.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“Wait!”
YOUNG MARIAN:
“Catch me!”
She laughs.
He catches her.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“Got you.”
Young Marian points toward a door.
YOUNG MARIAN:
“What's behind there?”
Young Dong-wook looks.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“My dad says we're not allowed.”
Young Marian smiles mischievously.
YOUNG MARIAN:
“Then we should definitely open it.”
Back in the present—
Marian laughs.
MARIAN:
“I was trouble.”
Dong-wook smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You still are.”
She playfully hits his arm.

— THE LOCKED DOOR
They find the door from the memory.
It's still locked.
Marian takes out the key.
She inserts it.
CLICK.
The door opens.
Inside is a narrow staircase leading underground.
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“After you.”
MARIAN:
“Why me?”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Because it's your house.”
MARIAN:
“Coward.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Smart.”
She laughs and goes first.

— THE HIDDEN ROOM
At the bottom is a large underground room.
There are shelves full of documents.
Photographs.
Old computers.
A child's drawing hangs on the wall.
Marian approaches it.
It's a drawing of two children holding hands.
Underneath it:
> M + D
Marian looks at Dong-wook.
MARIAN:
“That's us.”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You kept the drawing?”
She shakes her head.
MARIAN:
“My mother must have.”

— THE LETTER
Marian finds an envelope.
Written on it:
> FOR MARIAN — WHEN YOU ARE READY
Her hands shake.
She opens it.
Her mother's handwriting.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“My dear Marian...”
Marian begins crying.
Dong-wook stands beside her.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“If you found this room, then you have already remembered some of your childhood.”
Marian wipes her tears.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“And you have probably found Dong-wook again.”
Marian looks at him.
He smiles sadly.

— THE PARENTS' SECRET
The letter continues.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“There is something we never told you.”
A pause.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“You were never meant to become part of the Black Orchid.”
Marian looks confused.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“We tried to make sure you could live an ordinary life.”
Marian whispers:
MARIAN:
“But they found me.”
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“Yes.”

— DONG-WOOK'S ROLE
The letter continues.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“Your father asked Dong-wook's father to protect you.”
Dong-wook's eyes widen.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“My father knew.”
Marian reads.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“He asked us to let the children meet naturally.”
Dong-wook looks at Marian.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“So our parents really did know.”
Marian nods.
MARIAN:
“Yes.”

— THE SECRET PHOTOGRAPH
Marian finds another photograph.
This time, the mysterious man is visible.
Her eyes widen.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook.”
He looks.
His face turns pale.
The man standing behind them is—
Jae-ho.
But he looks much younger.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Jae-ho?”
Marian turns the photograph over.
There is writing:
> HE WAS THE ONE WHO SAVED THEM.
Dong-wook becomes confused.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“That doesn't make sense.”

— JAE-HO'S SECRET
A recording suddenly starts.
Jae-ho appears on screen.
YOUNG JAE-HO:
“If you're watching this, then I'm probably already gone.”
Marian watches.
YOUNG JAE-HO:
“I was ordered to erase Dong-wook's memories.”
Dong-wook's expression hardens.
YOUNG JAE-HO:
“But I couldn't erase everything.”
He looks emotional.
YOUNG JAE-HO:
“I left one memory untouched.”
The screen shows young Dong-wook and Marian holding hands.
YOUNG JAE-HO:
“Her.”

— THE REAL REASON
Jae-ho continues.
YOUNG JAE-HO:
“If Dong-wook ever found Marian again, his memories would return naturally.”
Marian looks at Dong-wook.
MARIAN:
“He protected us.”
Dong-wook nods slowly.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“He did.”
But then another recording appears.
Jae-ho looks frightened.
YOUNG JAE-HO:
“There is one thing you must never tell Dong-wook.”
The screen goes black.

— THE SECOND VIDEO
The screen comes back.
Jae-ho is older.
He looks exhausted.
JAE-HO:
“Dong-wook... if you're watching this, I'm sorry.”
Dong-wook steps closer.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Why?”
Jae-ho continues.
JAE-HO:
“I wasn't the one who erased your memories.”
Dong-wook freezes.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What?”
Jae-ho says:
JAE-HO:
“I only took the blame.”

— THE REAL MEMORY ERASER
Marian looks shocked.
MARIAN:
“Then who did it?”
Jae-ho's recording continues.
JAE-HO:
“Your father.”
Dong-wook's face changes.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“My father?”
Jae-ho nods in the video.
JAE-HO:
“He erased your memories himself.”
Dong-wook steps backward.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“No.”
— THE REASON
Jae-ho explains.
JAE-HO:
“Your father knew that Tae-sung would use you to find Marian.”
Dong-wook's eyes fill with tears.
JAE-HO:
“He erased your memories because he believed it was the only way to keep you both alive.”
The recording ends.
Silence.
Marian gently touches Dong-wook's hand.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook.”
He doesn't respond.

— DONG-WOOK BREAKS
Dong-wook walks away.
He sits against the wall.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“My father decided what I should remember.”
Marian sits beside him.
MARIAN:
“He was trying to protect you.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I know.”
He looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“But I still lost years with you.”
Marian holds his hand.
MARIAN:
“You have me now.”
He looks at her.
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“That's what matters.”
He hugs her.

— COMEDY BREAK
They sit quietly.
Marian notices something.
MARIAN:
“You know...”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What?”
MARIAN:
“Your family has a serious problem with secrets.”
He laughs.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Your family too.”
MARIAN:
“True.”
They laugh together.
For a moment, the danger disappears.

— THE INTRUDERS
Suddenly—
CRASH!
A window breaks upstairs.
Dong-wook immediately stands.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Someone's here.”
Marian grabs the necklace.
MARIAN:
“Tae-sung?”
They hear footsteps.
Jae-ho's voice suddenly comes through the communication device.
JAE-HO:
“Dong-wook, get out of the house!”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Why?”
JAE-HO:
“They found you.”

— THE ATTACK
Armed men enter the house.
Dong-wook and Marian fight their way through the hallway.
Marian uses her martial arts skills to disarm one attacker.
Dong-wook grabs another.
Jae-ho arrives.
JAE-HO:
“Move!”
They escape through the underground tunnel.
But one attacker follows.
Marian turns.
MARIAN:
“Keep going.”
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“No.”
MARIAN:
“Trust me.”
She turns toward the attacker.
Dong-wook reluctantly follows.

— MARIAN'S NEW SKILL
The attacker rushes her.
Marian blocks.
She remembers something her grandfather taught her.
ANTONIO'S VOICE:
“Don't fight strength with strength.”
Marian moves aside.
The attacker loses balance.
She takes him down.
Dong-wook looks impressed.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Remind me never to make you angry.”
Marian smiles.
MARIAN:
“Too late.”

— THE ESCAPE
They reach the end of the tunnel.
Jae-ho opens a hidden exit.
Everyone gets out.
The house behind them explodes.
Marian watches it burn.
MARIAN:
“My home...”
Dong-wook puts his arm around her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I'm sorry.”
She shakes her head.
MARIAN:
“My memories are my home now.”
She looks at him.
MARIAN:
“And you're in them.”

— THE FINAL DISCOVERY
Jae-ho looks at the files they recovered.
JAE-HO:
“We need to leave.”
Marian notices something.
A small red folder.
She opens it.
Inside is a birth certificate.
Her name.
But underneath it is another name.
She freezes.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook...”
He looks.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What?”
She gives him the document.
He reads it.
His eyes widen.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“This can't be right.”
Jae-ho takes the paper.
His face turns pale.
JAE-HO:
“No...”
Marian asks:
MARIAN:
“What does it say?”
Jae-ho looks at her.
JAE-HO:
“Your mother wasn't your biological mother.”
Silence.
Marian stares at him.
MARIAN:
“What?”
A car stops nearby.
Antonio gets out.
He sees the document.
His expression changes.
ANTONIO:
“Where did you find that?”
Marian holds it up.
MARIAN:
“In my parents' house.”
Antonio looks devastated.
MARIAN:
“Lolo...”
He doesn't answer.
MARIAN:
“Who is my real mother?”
Antonio closes his eyes.
Then whispers:
ANTONIO:
“The woman who founded the Black Orchid.”
Everyone freezes.
Dong-wook looks at Marian.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Your mother...?”
Antonio nods.
ANTONIO:
“She's still alive.”
Marian's eyes widen.
Then Antonio adds:
ANTONIO:
“And she's coming for you.”
