6:30 in the morning.
Marian wakes up on the couch.
She looks around.
Lee Dong-wook is asleep in a chair beside her.
His arms are crossed.
His head is tilted slightly.
Marian smiles.
She quietly stands.
She takes a blanket and places it over him.
He suddenly opens his eyes.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Where are you going?"
Marian jumps.
MARIAN:
"You scared me!"
He looks at the blanket.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You covered me."
MARIAN:
"You looked cold."
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You're caring."
MARIAN:
"I'm a doctor."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"That's not what I meant."
She looks away.
MARIAN:
"Go back to sleep."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"I can't."
MARIAN:
"Why?"
He looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You're standing too close."
She laughs.

— BREAKFAST DISASTER
Marian attempts to cook.
Lee Dong-wook watches.
Smoke begins filling the kitchen.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"What are you making?"
MARIAN:
"Breakfast."
He looks at the pan.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Are you sure?"
MARIAN:
"Yes."
A few seconds later—
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The fire alarm starts.
Hye-jin enters.
She looks at the smoke.
HYE-JIN:
"What happened?"
Marian points at the pan.
MARIAN:
"Breakfast."
Hye-jin looks at Lee Dong-wook.
HYE-JIN:
"She almost killed us."
MARIAN:
"I'm a doctor, not a chef!"
Lee Dong-wook laughs.
MARIAN:
"Don't laugh!"
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"I'm sorry."
He continues laughing.

— PREPARING FOR THE MISSION
— THE PLAN
A large map is placed on the table.
Hye-jin explains.
HYE-JIN:
"The Black Orchid meeting will happen at the old Grand Meridian Hotel."
Marian looks at the map.
MARIAN:
"How many guards?"
HYE-JIN:
"At least twenty."
Lee Dong-wook looks at Marian.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You're staying beside me."
MARIAN:
"I know."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"If I tell you to run—"
MARIAN:
"I'll decide."
He sighs.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You're impossible."
MARIAN:
"And yet you like me."
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Unfortunately."
She hits his arm.
— THE DISGUISES
— GETTING READY
Marian wears an elegant black dress.
Lee Dong-wook wears a black suit.
He looks at her.
He becomes silent.
MARIAN:
"What?"
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Nothing."
MARIAN:
"You're staring."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"I know."
She smiles.
MARIAN:
"Do I look okay?"
He approaches.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You look dangerous."
MARIAN:
"Good."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"That's exactly what I'm worried about."
She fixes his tie.
MARIAN:
"And you look handsome."
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You're making it difficult to concentrate."
MARIAN:
"Good."
— THE HOTEL
— ARRIVAL
A luxury hotel.
Black cars arrive one after another.
Marian and Lee Dong-wook walk inside.
A security guard approaches.
GUARD:
"Invitation."
Lee Dong-wook hands him a card.
The guard looks at Marian.
GUARD:
"Who is she?"
Lee Dong-wook calmly puts his arm around Marian's waist.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"My wife."
Marian looks at him.
Her eyes widen.
The guard nods.
GUARD:
"Enjoy your evening."
They walk away.
Marian whispers:
MARIAN:
"Your wife?"
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"It was the fastest answer."
MARIAN:
"You could've said girlfriend."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Too suspicious."
MARIAN:
"Wife?"
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You didn't complain."
She looks away.
MARIAN:
"Shut up."

— THE BALLROOM
The ballroom is filled with wealthy and powerful people.
Everyone wears black.
A black orchid symbol is displayed on the wall.
Marian looks around.
MARIAN:
"These people are terrifying."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Stay close."
She nods.
A man approaches.
MAN:
"Lee Dong-wook."
Dong-wook's expression becomes cold.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Mr. Han."
Marian notices the tension.
MR. HAN:
"I heard you were retired."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"I changed my mind."
Mr. Han looks at Marian.
MR. HAN:
"Your wife?"
Dong-wook nods.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Yes."
Marian smiles politely.
MARIAN:
"Nice to meet you."
Mr. Han smiles.
MR. HAN:
"Likewise."
He walks away.
Marian whispers:
MARIAN:
"He knows you."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Too well."

— THE SECRET DOOR
— THE HALLWAY
Hye-jin speaks through an earpiece.
HYE-JIN:
"Second floor. East hallway."
Marian and Lee Dong-wook move quietly.
They find a hidden door.
Marian examines the lock.
MARIAN:
"It's electronic."
Lee Dong-wook takes out a device.
MARIAN:
"You carry that around?"
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Sometimes."
MARIAN:
"You're definitely not a normal actor."
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"I never said I was."
The door opens.

ACT 7 — THE ARCHIVE
SCENE 8 — SECRET ROOM
Inside are hundreds of files.
Marian begins searching.
MARIAN:
"Names..."
She finds one.
MARIAN:
"My grandfather."
Lee Dong-wook approaches.
She opens the file.
Inside:
SUBJECT: JOSEPH DEGUZMAN
Marian's eyes widen.
MARIAN:
"That's not my grandfather's name."
Lee Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"What?"
She points.
MARIAN:
"My grandfather's real name was Antonio."
Silence.
MARIAN:
"Why would they have another name?"
Lee Dong-wook looks at the file.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Because he had an identity here."

Marian finds another file.
MARIAN:
"My parents."
She opens it.
There is a photograph.
Her parents.
And beside them—

They move together.
MARIAN:
"Left!"
He blocks an attacker.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Got it."
She kicks another.
MARIAN:
"Right!"
He turns.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You enjoy this too much."
MARIAN:
"Maybe!"

They reach an elevator.
The doors close.
Both breathe heavily.
Marian looks at him.

They laugh.
Then Marian notices blood on his sleeve.

"You're hurt."

"It's nothing."

"I'm a doctor."
She grabs his arm.
MARIAN:
"Let me see."
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"You're very serious."
MARIAN:
"Because I care."
He looks at her.

"I know."

They escape into the underground parking area.
A car waits.
Jae-ho steps out.

"Get in."

He looks at him.

"To get you out."
Marian looks at Lee Dong-wook.
Something feels wrong.
Jae-ho opens the passenger door.
JAE-HO:
"Quickly."
Lee Dong-wook doesn't move.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Who sent you?"
Jae-ho looks at him.
JAE-HO:
"You know who."

Suddenly, headlights appear.
Several vehicles surround them.
Jae-ho steps backward.

Several men move toward Marian.

"Then stop it."
Jae-ho says nothing.

He turns to his men.

"Nobody touches Marian."
Then he looks at Lee Dong-wook.
JAE-HO:
"Run."
Lee Dong-wook understands.
He grabs Marian.
They escape.

Marian takes his hand.

He looks at her.

MARIAN:
"Someone has to be."

Marian opens the file they stole.
There is one final page.
A handwritten note.
She reads:
"If my granddaughter ever finds this, tell her the truth."
Marian's hands shake.
MARIAN:
"This is from Lolo."
She continues.
MARIAN:
"He didn't die."
Lee Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"What?"
She reads the next line.
MARIAN:
"Antonio Deguzman is alive."
Silence.
Marian drops the paper.
MARIAN:
"My grandfather is alive?"
— THE SHOCKING TRUTH
Hye-jin looks at Marian.
HYE-JIN:
"If this is real..."
Marian looks at her.
MARIAN:
"Then where is he?"
Hye-jin slowly looks at Lee Dong-wook.
HYE-JIN:
"That's the problem."
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"What?"
Hye-jin says quietly:
HYE-JIN:
"Your grandfather isn't hiding from the Black Orchid."
Marian waits.
HYE-JIN:
"The Black Orchid is hiding from him."

Later that night.
Marian sits outside.
Lee Dong-wook joins her.
She looks exhausted.
He sits beside her.

He nods.

She rests her head on his shoulder.

"I'm scared."
He gently takes her hand.

"Me too."
She looks up.
MARIAN:
"You?"
He nods.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"I'm scared of losing you."
She smiles through her tears.
MARIAN:
"You're not going to lose me."
He kisses her forehead.

— THE CALL
Lee Dong-wook's phone rings.
Unknown number.
He answers.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Who is this?"
A familiar voice.
Old.
Calm.
VOICE:
"Lee Dong-wook."
Dong-wook freezes.
Marian watches him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Who are you?"
The voice laughs softly.
VOICE:
"You knew me when you were young."
Dong-wook's eyes widen.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"No..."
The voice says:
VOICE:
"Tell my granddaughter I'm proud of her."
Marian stands.
MARIAN:
"Who is it?"
Lee Dong-wook slowly turns toward her.
The voice continues:
VOICE:
"Marian..."
She grabs the phone.
MARIAN:
"Lolo?"
Silence.
Then:
ANTONIO:
"Hello, apo."
Marian's eyes fill with tears.
MARIAN:
"Lolo..."

FINAL ACT — THE WARNING
Antonio's voice becomes serious.
ANTONIO:
"Listen carefully."
Marian wipes her tears.
MARIAN:
"Where are you?"
ANTONIO:
"That doesn't matter."
MARIAN:
"Of course it matters!"
ANTONIO:
"You must leave Korea."
Marian looks at Lee Dong-wook.
MARIAN:
"No."
ANTONIO:
"Marian, listen to me."
MARIAN:
"I came here because of you."
Silence.
ANTONIO:
"Then you must know the truth."
Marian waits.
ANTONIO:
"The man you love..."
Lee Dong-wook looks at her.
ANTONIO:
"...was never the target."
Marian's expression changes.
MARIAN:
"What do you mean?"
Antonio whispers:
ANTONIO:
"He's the key."
The call ends.
Marian looks at Lee Dong-wook.
Neither speaks.
Then Lee Dong-wook's phone receives a photograph.
It's a picture of Marian's parents.
On the back is a message:
"THEIR DAUGHTER HAS RETURNED."
Lee Dong-wook looks at Marian.
His face becomes cold.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"We have to leave."
MARIAN:
"Why?"
He looks toward the window.
A black car is parked outside.
Someone is watching them.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Because they know we're here."
Marian takes his hand.
MARIAN:
"Then we face them together."
He looks at her.
A small smile appears.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
"Together."
They stand side by side.
Outside, the black orchid symbol appears on the car window.
