— THE ABANDONED WAREHOUSE
Silence.
Everyone stares at Jae-ho.
Dong-wook's face is cold.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You altered my memories?”
Jae-ho doesn't answer immediately.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Answer me.”
JAE-HO:
“Yes.”
Dong-wook steps toward him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What did you erase?”
Jae-ho looks at Marian.
JAE-HO:
“Her.”
Marian's eyes widen.
MARIAN:
“Me?”
JAE-HO:
“You were in his memories.”
Dong-wook shakes his head.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I don't understand.”
Jae-ho finally says:
JAE-HO:
“You met Marian years before either of you remembered.”

— THE NIGHT THEY FIRST MET
Jae-ho activates an old computer.
A recording appears.
A younger Dong-wook is walking through a hospital corridor.
He looks about twenty years old.
Then a little girl runs around the corner.
It's Marian.
She crashes into him.
He catches her before she falls.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“Are you okay?”
Young Marian nods.
YOUNG MARIAN:
“I'm looking for my mom.”
Dong-wook kneels.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“What's her name?”
YOUNG MARIAN:
“Mommy.”
Dong-wook laughs.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“That makes it difficult.”
Marian smiles.

— THE PROMISE
The recording continues.
Dong-wook walks Marian through the hospital.
They find her mother.
Before Marian leaves, she turns back.
YOUNG MARIAN:
“Will I see you again?”
Young Dong-wook smiles.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“Maybe.”
Young Marian holds out her little finger.
YOUNG MARIAN:
“Promise?”
He hooks his finger with hers.
YOUNG DONG-WOOK:
“Promise.”
The recording ends.
Marian is crying.
MARIAN:
“I remembered that.”
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I didn't.”

— WHY DONG-WOOK FORGOT
Jae-ho explains.
JAE-HO:
“Tae-sung discovered that you had met Marian.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“So you erased her from my memory?”
JAE-HO:
“I had to.”
Dong-wook grabs him by the collar.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You had no right.”
Jae-ho doesn't resist.
JAE-HO:
“I know.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“She was important to me.”
Jae-ho looks at him.
JAE-HO:
“That's exactly why I did it.”

— MARIAN STOPS THEM
Marian steps between them.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook.”
He looks at her.
MARIAN:
“Let him explain.”
Dong-wook releases Jae-ho.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Fine.”
Jae-ho takes a breath.
JAE-HO:
“Tae-sung wanted to find Marian because of what her parents hid.”
MARIAN:
“And Dong-wook?”
JAE-HO:
“He was the only person she trusted.”

— THE SECRET PLAN
Jae-ho shows them another document.
It contains photographs of Marian and Dong-wook.
Some were taken years ago.
MARIAN:
“You were watching us?”
Jae-ho shakes his head.
JAE-HO:
“Protecting you.”
Dong-wook looks at the photographs.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then our meeting in Seoul...”
Jae-ho nods.
JAE-HO:
“Wasn't completely accidental.”
Marian's eyes widen.
MARIAN:
“What?”

— THE COFFEE SHOP
A flashback.
The first day Marian and Dong-wook bumped into each other in Seoul.
Marian walks out of a café.
Dong-wook turns the corner.
They collide.
MARIAN:
“Oh! I'm sorry!”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“It's okay.”
He walks away.
But as he disappears around the corner, he secretly looks back.
His expression changes.
He recognizes her.
But he doesn't know why.

— THE SECOND COLLISION
Another flashback.
They bump into each other again.
Dong-wook looks confused.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You again?”
Marian laughs.
MARIAN:
“Maybe Seoul is too small.”
Dong-wook smiles.
But after she walks away, he looks at her carefully.
Something inside him feels familiar.

— THE THIRD COLLISION
The third time.
Dong-wook intentionally walks toward her.
Marian doesn't notice.
They bump.
MARIAN:
“Again?”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Maybe it's fate.”
Back in the present, Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“You knew?”
Dong-wook shakes his head.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I didn't know why.”
Jae-ho speaks.
JAE-HO:
“Because your memories were trying to return.”

— ROMANTIC MOMENT
Marian looks at Dong-wook.
MARIAN:
“So even when you forgot me...”
He takes her hand.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Something in me remembered.”
She smiles through tears.
MARIAN:
“That's romantic.”
Dong-wook smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I can be romantic sometimes.”
Jae-ho interrupts.
JAE-HO:
“Sometimes?”
Dong-wook looks at him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Do you want to live?”
Jae-ho laughs.

— THE REAL REASON
Jae-ho becomes serious.
JAE-HO:
“There was another reason.”
Dong-wook looks at him.
JAE-HO:
“Your father believed that if you and Marian met again naturally, her memories might return.”
Marian looks shocked.
MARIAN:
“So my parents planned this?”
Jae-ho nods.
JAE-HO:
“They left instructions.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“For us to meet?”
JAE-HO:
“Yes.”

— MARIAN'S PARENTS
Jae-ho plays another recording.
Marian's father appears.
MARIAN'S FATHER:
“If you're watching this, Marian has probably met Dong-wook again.”
Marian begins crying.
MARIAN'S FATHER:
“Don't be afraid.”
He smiles.
MARIAN'S FATHER:
“Some people enter our lives because of coincidence.”
He looks directly into the camera.
MARIAN'S FATHER:
“Others because we were meant to find them.”
Dong-wook looks at Marian.
Her father continues:
MARIAN'S FATHER:
“Trust the boy.”
The recording ends.

— THE ATTACK
Suddenly—
BANG!
A window shatters.
Everyone ducks.
Jae-ho immediately reaches for his weapon.
JAE-HO:
“We have company.”
Tae-sung's men surround the warehouse.
Dong-wook looks at Marian.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Stay close.”
MARIAN:
“Always.”
The doors burst open.

— MARIAN'S MARTIAL ARTS
Three attackers rush Marian.
She moves quickly.
One grabs her arm.
She twists free.
The second attacks.
She ducks and sweeps his legs.
The third comes from behind.
Dong-wook blocks him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You okay?”
MARIAN:
“I'm starting to think you're enjoying rescuing me.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Maybe.”
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“Then keep up.”
She runs toward another attacker.
Dong-wook laughs.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“She's impossible.”

— DONG-WOOK'S FATHER
Dong-wook's father fights beside Jae-ho.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Jae-ho!”
JAE-HO:
“Yes?”
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Get them out!”
JAE-HO:
“What about you?”
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“I'll handle this.”
Jae-ho looks at him.
JAE-HO:
“You're still stubborn.”
His father smiles.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Your brother learned from me.”

— TAE-SUNG ARRIVES
The fighting suddenly stops.
Tae-sung enters.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Enough.”
Everyone turns.
He looks at Marian.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You finally remember.”
Marian's expression changes.
MARIAN:
“Remember what?”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“The night your parents disappeared.”
Marian freezes.

— THE LOST NIGHT
A memory begins returning.
Marian sees herself as a child.
She's hiding in a car.
Her parents are arguing.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“She can't stay here.”
MARIAN'S FATHER:
“I know.”
Then someone opens the car door.
Young Marian looks up.
It's Tae-sung.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Come with me.”
Her father attacks him.
The memory breaks.
Marian screams.
MARIAN:
“STOP!”
Dong-wook grabs her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Marian!”
She collapses against him.

— THE TRUTH
Tae-sung speaks quietly.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Your parents didn't disappear.”
Marian looks at him.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“They were captured.”
MARIAN:
“By you?”
He nods.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Yes.”
Dong-wook steps forward.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What happened to them?”
Tae-sung looks at Marian.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“They made a deal.”
Marian whispers:
MARIAN:
“What deal?”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Your life... for theirs.”

ACT 19 — THE SHOCK
Marian's eyes fill with tears.
MARIAN:
“No.”
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“They agreed to hide the archive.”
MARIAN:
“And they died?”
Tae-sung doesn't answer.
Dong-wook looks furious.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You killed them.”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“I gave them a choice.”
Dong-wook moves toward him.
Jae-ho stops him.
JAE-HO:
“Don't.”
Dong-wook stares at Tae-sung.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“If you hurt her again...”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“That's exactly what I'm counting on.”

— THE UNEXPECTED ALLIANCE
Suddenly, Min-jae steps forward.
Everyone looks at him.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Tae-sung.”
Tae-sung turns.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“You've gone too far.”
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You're defending them?”
Min-jae looks at Marian.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“No.”
He looks at Tae-sung.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“I'm defending what belongs to me.”
Tae-sung laughs.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You still think you own the Black Orchid?”
Min-jae's expression becomes cold.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“I don't think.”
He steps forward.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“I know.”

— THE SECOND BETRAYAL
Suddenly, Min-jae attacks Tae-sung.
The room erupts into chaos.
Jae-ho grabs Dong-wook.
JAE-HO:
“Now!”
They escape through a side door.
Marian runs with Dong-wook.
But before they leave, she hears Min-jae shout:
KANG MIN-JAE:
“MARIAＮ!”
She turns.
Min-jae throws something toward her.
She catches it.
A small key.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Your parents left one final door unopened.”
Marian looks at the key.
MARIAN:
“Where?”
Min-jae smiles.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Your childhood home.”

FINAL SCENE
LATER THAT NIGHT
Marian and Dong-wook sit quietly inside a car.
Rain falls against the windows.
Marian holds the key.
MARIAN:
“I'm scared.”
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Me too.”
She looks surprised.
MARIAN:
“You?”
He nods.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I'm afraid of losing you.”
Marian reaches for his hand.
MARIAN:
“You won't.”
He looks at her.
MARIAN:
“Because you promised me when we were children.”
She hooks her little finger around his.
MARIAN:
“Remember?”
Dong-wook smiles.
He hooks his finger around hers.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I remember now.”
They look at each other.
He gently kisses her forehead.
Then Marian notices something in the rearview mirror.
A black car is following them.
Her smile disappears.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook.”
He looks in the mirror.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I see it.”
The black car suddenly accelerates.
Dong-wook starts the engine.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Hold on.”
Marian smiles nervously.
MARIAN:
“Where are we going?”
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Home.”
The car speeds into the rainy Seoul night.
