Everyone stands frozen.
Kang Min-jae looks at Marian.
Lee Dong-wook immediately steps in front of her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Stay behind me.”
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“You know I don't always listen.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I know.”
He takes her hand anyway.
Min-jae smiles.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“You two remind me of your parents.”
Marian's expression changes.
MARIAN:
“Don't talk about my parents.”
Min-jae looks at her calmly.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“You deserve to know what really happened.”
ANTONIO:
“Don't listen to him.”
Min-jae turns toward Antonio.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Still protecting her from the truth?”
Antonio's jaw tightens.

— THE FOUNDER'S STORY
— AN OLD WAREHOUSE
Min-jae invites them inside an abandoned warehouse.
Jae-ho immediately raises his weapon.
JAE-HO:
“Why would we follow you?”
Min-jae smiles.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Because you want answers.”
Dong-wook looks at him.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“And if this is a trap?”
Min-jae shrugs.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Then you already walked into it.”
Marian looks at Dong-wook.
MARIAN:
“Unfortunately, he's right.”
Dong-wook sighs.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I hate when you're right.”
MARIAN:
“You're going to get used to it.”

THIRTY YEARS AGO
Min-jae starts an old projector.
A video appears.
Three young men are shown:
Antonio.
Dong-wook's father.
Kang Min-jae.
They are standing together.
Marian stares.
MARIAN:
“You were friends?”
Min-jae nods.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“We were brothers.”
Antonio looks away.
ANTONIO:
“Until he betrayed us.”
Min-jae smiles bitterly.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“No.”
He looks at Antonio.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“You betrayed me first.”

— THE BEGINNING OF THE BLACK ORCHID
FLASHBACK
Thirty years earlier.
Min-jae, Antonio and Dong-wook's father sit together.
They are young.
They discuss creating an organization.
YOUNG MIN-JAE:
“We can use our resources to protect people.”
YOUNG ANTONIO:
“Then we do it.”
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Together.”
They shake hands.
A black orchid sits on the table.
YOUNG MIN-JAE:
“This will be our symbol.”

— THE BETRAYAL
The video continues.
The organization grows.
But Min-jae becomes increasingly ruthless.
YOUNG MIN-JAE:
“People only understand fear.”
Antonio disagrees.
YOUNG ANTONIO:
“We're supposed to protect them.”
YOUNG MIN-JAE:
“Protection requires control.”
Dong-wook's father stands.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“I'm leaving.”
Min-jae looks at him.
YOUNG MIN-JAE:
“You can't.”
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Watch me.”

— THE SPLIT
Min-jae created the Black Orchid.
Antonio and Dong-wook's father tried to destroy it.
But Min-jae had already built a network throughout Asia.
MARIAN:
“So the Black Orchid started as something good?”
Min-jae nods.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Every organization begins with an idea.”
He looks at her.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“People turn ideas into monsters.”
Marian looks at Antonio.
MARIAN:
“Why didn't you stop him?”
Antonio's eyes fill with regret.
ANTONIO:
“I tried.”

— THE NIGHT OF THE FIRE
Min-jae shows another video.
A building is burning.
Marian's parents are running.
A younger Antonio is outside.
Dong-wook's father is helping people escape.
Then—
A young Marian appears.
She's a little girl.
Marian freezes.
MARIAN:
“That's me.”
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You were there?”
Antonio nods.
ANTONIO:
“Yes.”

— MARIAN'S LOST MEMORY
Marian suddenly gets dizzy.
She grabs her head.
MARIAN:
“I remember..."
Dong-wook catches her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Marian?”
She closes her eyes.
A memory appears.
A little girl runs through a hallway.
Someone is chasing her.
She hides behind a door.
Then a young boy appears.
He gives her his hand.
YOUNG BOY:
“Don't be scared.”
Young Marian looks at him.
YOUNG MARIAN:
“What's your name?”
The boy smiles.
YOUNG BOY:
“Dong-wook.”
Marian's eyes open.

— THE IMPOSSIBLE TRUTH
Marian stares at Dong-wook.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook...”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What?”
MARIAN:
“I've met you before.”
He becomes confused.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“When?”
She points to the old video.
MARIAN:
“When we were children.”
Everyone becomes silent.
Dong-wook looks at his father.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Dad?”
His father nods.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Yes.”

— THEIR FIRST MEETING
Dong-wook's father explains.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“Our families knew each other.”
MARIAN:
“So our first meeting in Seoul wasn't actually our first meeting.”
Antonio shakes his head.
ANTONIO:
“No.”
Marian looks at Dong-wook.
MARIAN:
“We met when we were children.”
He smiles softly.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“And somehow we found each other again.”
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“Maybe it wasn't an accident.”

— ROMANTIC MOMENT
They step away from everyone.
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“You saved me when we were children.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I don't remember.”
MARIAN:
“I do.”
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“You told me not to be scared.”
He gently touches her cheek.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Apparently I'm still doing it.”
She laughs.
MARIAN:
“Yes.”
He pulls her into a hug.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then I'll keep doing it.”

— THE COMEDY
Jae-ho watches them.
JAE-HO:
“So you two were childhood friends?”
Marian nods.
MARIAN:
“Apparently.”
Jae-ho looks at Dong-wook.
JAE-HO:
“You were flirting with her before you even knew it.”
Dong-wook looks annoyed.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Can you stop?”
JAE-HO:
“No.”
Hye-jin laughs.
HYE-JIN:
“I like him.”
Dong-wook looks around.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Why is everyone against me?”
Marian smiles.
MARIAN:
“Because you're cute when you're annoyed.”
He immediately becomes quiet.
Jae-ho laughs.

— THE REAL REASON MARIAN WAS CHOSEN
Min-jae interrupts.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Enjoy the reunion.”
Everyone becomes serious.
Min-jae looks at Marian.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“But there's something you still don't know.”
Marian looks at him.
MARIAN:
“What?”
Min-jae points to her necklace.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“The archive isn't the real secret.”
Marian touches it.
MARIAN:
“Then what is?”
Min-jae answers:
KANG MIN-JAE:
“You.”

— THE MEMORY EXPERIMENT
Min-jae explains.
Years ago, Marian's parents discovered a technology designed to store information inside human memory.
MARIAN:
“You're saying my parents put information inside my mind?”
Min-jae nods.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Yes.”
MARIAN:
“What information?”
Min-jae smiles.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“The names of everyone who betrayed the Black Orchid.”
Marian becomes shocked.
MARIAN:
“I don't remember them.”
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Because your parents erased the memory.”

— WHY DONG-WOOK IS THE KEY
Dong-wook looks at Min-jae.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then why am I involved?”
Min-jae looks at him.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“Because your father helped create the system.”
Dong-wook's father lowers his head.
DONG-WOOK'S FATHER:
“It was never supposed to be used on children.”
Min-jae smiles.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“But it was.”

— THE MEMORY TRIGGER
Marian's hands begin shaking.
A memory returns.
A little Marian sits with her mother.
Her mother puts the necklace around her neck.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“If you ever forget, find the boy.”
Young Marian asks:
YOUNG MARIAN:
“Which boy?”
Her mother smiles.
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“The boy who protected you.”
Young Marian smiles.
YOUNG MARIAN:
“Dong-wook.”
Marian opens her eyes.
She looks at him.
Tears roll down her cheeks.
MARIAN:
“My mother knew.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Knew what?”
MARIAN:
“She knew we'd find each other.”

— TAE-SUNG RETURNS
Suddenly—
A loud crash.
The warehouse doors explode open.
Han Tae-sung walks in with armed men.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“Enough secrets.”
Everyone prepares.
Min-jae looks annoyed.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“You're late.”
Tae-sung smiles.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“I wanted to see the family reunion.”
Dong-wook steps forward.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You're not taking Marian.”
Tae-sung laughs.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“You still don't understand.”

— THE REAL ENEMY
Tae-sung points at Min-jae.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“He isn't your ally.”
Everyone turns.
HAN TAE-SUNG:
“He created the Black Orchid.”
Marian looks at Min-jae.
MARIAN:
“You said you wanted to destroy it.”
Min-jae looks at her.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“I changed my mind.”
Dong-wook becomes furious.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You used us.”
Min-jae smiles.
KANG MIN-JAE:
“I needed Marian to recover the memories.”

— THE BATTLE
Tae-sung's men attack Min-jae's men.
Chaos erupts.
Dong-wook protects Marian.
Jae-ho fights beside him.
Hye-jin protects Antonio.
Marian fights her way through several attackers.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Marian!”
She looks at him.
MARIAN:
“I'm okay!”
She kicks an attacker away.
MARIAN:
“Stop worrying!”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I can't!”
She smiles.
MARIAN:
“I know.”

— THE MEMORY RETURNS
During the fight, Marian suddenly freezes.
Everything around her becomes silent.
She sees a memory.
Her mother.
Her father.
Antonio.
Dong-wook's father.
And one final person.
Jae-ho.
Her mother's voice echoes:
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“Marian, if you ever remember this man...”
Marian looks at Jae-ho.
Her mother continues:
MARIAN'S MOTHER:
“Don't trust him.”
Marian's eyes widen.
She looks at Jae-ho.
MARIAN:
“Jae-ho...”
He turns.
JAE-HO:
“What?”
Marian stares at him.
MARIAN:
“My mother warned me about you.”
Jae-ho freezes.
Dong-wook looks between them.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What?”
Jae-ho's face changes.
JAE-HO:
“Marian...”
She takes a step back.
MARIAN:
“What did you do?”
Jae-ho doesn't answer.

— THE LAST SECRET
Jae-ho slowly lowers his weapon.
JAE-HO:
“I didn't betray your parents.”
Marian waits.
JAE-HO:
“I was the one who saved you.”
Marian's eyes widen.
MARIAN:
“Then why did my mother tell me not to trust you?”
Jae-ho looks devastated.
JAE-HO:
“Because she didn't know the truth.”
Dong-wook steps forward.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What truth?”
Jae-ho looks directly at him.
JAE-HO:
“Your father wasn't the one who created the memory system.”
Everyone freezes.
JAE-HO:
“I did.”
Silence.
Dong-wook's expression changes.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You?”
Jae-ho nods.
JAE-HO:
“And Marian wasn't the first person I used it on.”
Marian's eyes widen.
MARIAN:
“Who was?”
Jae-ho looks at Dong-wook.
JAE-HO:
“You.”
Dong-wook freezes.
