Total darkness.
Marian can hear everyone's breathing.

She reaches for his hand.
MARIAN:
“Good.”
JAE-HO:
“I think I'm okay.”
A pause.
JAE-HO:
“Except I can't see anything.”
Antonio answers from somewhere in the darkness.
ANTONIO:
“That's usually what darkness does.”
Jae-ho sighs.
JAE-HO:
“Thank you, professor.”
Marian laughs despite the tension.
Then—
BEEP.
Emergency lights turn on.
Everyone looks around.
The underground facility is collapsing.

— THE COUNTDOWN
A giant screen activates.
SYSTEM:
“BLACK ORCHID ERASURE: 12 MINUTES REMAINING.”
Victor looks horrified.
VICTOR:
“Stop it!”
He runs toward the console.
SYSTEM:
“ACCESS DENIED.”
Victor punches the console.
VICTOR:
“Marian!”
Marian turns.
VICTOR:
“Reverse it!”
She shakes her head.
MARIAN:
“No.”
VICTOR:
“You'll destroy everything!”
Marian looks around.
MARIAN:
“That's the point.”

— THE ESCAPE
The ceiling begins cracking.
Hye-rin looks up.
HYE-RIN:
“We need to leave.”
Jae-hyun nods.
LEE JAE-HYUN:
“There is an emergency tunnel.”
Jae-ho looks at him.
JAE-HO:
“Please tell me it's not another secret underground tunnel.”
Jae-hyun gives him a look.
LEE JAE-HYUN:
“It is.”
Jae-ho sighs.
JAE-HO:
“Of course it is.”

— MARIA'S DECISION
Marian doesn't move.
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“What are you doing?”
MARIAN:
“I can't leave.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Why?”
She points at the computer.
MARIAN:
“The system is still running.”
Dong-wook understands.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You want to make sure the erasure finishes.”
She nods.
MARIAN:
“If Victor gets control again, everything starts over.”
Dong-wook looks at her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Then I'm staying.”
MARIAN:
“No.”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“You already know I'm not listening.”
She laughs.
MARIAN:
“Stubborn.”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Learned from you.”

— THE FAMILY LEAVES
Hye-rin, Seo-yeon, Ramon and Antonio head toward the emergency tunnel.
Seo-yeon stops.
She looks back at Marian.
SEO-YEON:
“Come back.”
Marian smiles.
MARIAN:
“I will.”
Hye-rin looks at Dong-wook.
HYE-RIN:
“Take care of her.”
Dong-wook nods.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“With my life.”
Hye-rin smiles.
HYE-RIN:
“Good answer.”

The countdown reaches:

Victor desperately searches for a way to stop the system.
Marian watches him.
MARIAN:
“You really don't know how to let go, do you?”
Victor looks at her.
VICTOR:
“You're destroying the only thing that gave us power.”
Marian shakes her head.
MARIAN:
“No.”
She looks at the collapsing room.
MARIAN:
“I'm destroying the thing that made people afraid.”

Victor suddenly attacks Marian.
Dong-wook blocks him.
The two fight.
Victor is fast and experienced.

She blocks his strike.

“You think your grandfather's training makes you special?”
Marian responds:

“No.”
She takes him down.

“My grandfather taught me that nobody is special enough to control another person's life.”

Victor desperately crawls toward the console.
Marian blocks him.

Marian looks at him.

“I already regret trusting people like you.”
Dong-wook stands beside her.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Thirty seconds.”
Marian looks at the screen.

Suddenly another screen activates.
Marian's grandfather appears.
GRANDFATHER:
“If you're seeing this, Marian, then you've chosen destruction.”
Marian freezes.
GRANDFATHER:
“I'm proud of you.”
Her eyes fill with tears.
GRANDFATHER:
“But destroying the Black Orchid is only the beginning.”
Marian looks confused.
GRANDFATHER:
“There is something I never told anyone.”
The countdown continues.

A huge piece of concrete falls.
Dong-wook pushes Marian out of the way.
It crashes beside him.
MARIAN:
“Dong-wook!”
She grabs his arm.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“I'm okay.”
MARIAN:
“You scared me!”
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Sorry.”
MARIAN:
“Don't do that again.”
He smiles.
LEE DONG-WOOK:
“Okay.”

— OUTSIDE
They finally reach the surface.
Everyone is waiting.
Hye-rin hugs Marian.
Seo-yeon hugs her too.
For a moment, Marian is surrounded by both women.

“I thought I lost you.”

A long silence.
Then:

“Yes.”
Marian begins crying.

“Where are you?”
The woman replies:
WOMAN:
“Don't trust anyone around you.”
Marian's expression changes.

“Why?”
The woman whispers:

A pause.

The call ends.
