Chapter 3 A Sensible Kid

When Roselyn came out of the kitchen with the dishes in her hands, she suddenly froze when she heard Liam's comments.

She subconsciously thought that maybe only Bethany's child would be praised by Liam. Liam didn't love her, so he also hated their son.

Sean couldn't help crying. He dropped the drawing on the ground and ran back to his room. Liam frowned, thinking about how this little boy could inherit their family business when he grew up since he was so delicate. Although it was a good painting, Liam didn't want his boy to get proud like a cockerel.

Seeing Sean crying and running back to his room, Roselyn frowned at Liam and said, "You eat first. I'll go to check him up."

"Don't cry, my baby. Your daddy didn't mean it. He's just... He's just tired after work. He's not in the mood to appreciate your good work. Don't cry."

Sean suddenly asked, "Mommy, does Daddy not like me? He never hugs me or cares about me. He always reprimands me. I know he doesn't like me."

When Roselyn came out of the room with Sean, she found that Liam hadn't started eating yet. She was startled and nervous, holding Sean's hand and standing aside. "What's going on? Is there something wrong with the food?"

She didn't dare to think that Liam was waiting for them to eat together. She believed that he was upset by the food she cooked tonight.

Liam's eyes fell on her red and swollen eyes, and a fierce look came into his eyes instantly. "Did you cry? Again?" He sneered, "It seems like staying with me is so tough for you that you have to shed tears every day."

"It's not like that." Roselyn lowered her head and made an excuse, "I cried because I rubbed my eyes after chopping the onions."

Liam snorted mockingly and started to eat. After crying, Roselyn felt much better and helped Sean sit down to have dinner.

The silence fell among them. In the past, Roselyn would start a topic to talk about, while Liam remained silent all the time. Tonight was no exception.
