Chapter 13 Bloodlust

1958 Words
Fairy Isle Daily Tribune      Late last night , during a concert, a female was found with her blood drained.  This morning on the opposite side of town a couple was found in the same way.  If you have any information, no matter how small it may seem, it could definitely aid us in our investigation.  Please call 918-Cal-Cops.       Willow's Dad came up and knocked on every door.  “Come downstairs,”  he said.  Even though it sounded like a command.       He started passing around the newspaper.  “Do you guys realize what this means?  We are dealing with vampires this time around.  Let’s turn on the news and see if they know anymore now than they did when this article was written.”       Channel 8 news in the morning.    More have been found drained of blood.  15 so far.  That doesn’t mean that there is no more out there.  We will keep you informed as the day goes on.      “We were going to all walk to the store and grab some cigarettes.  “We'll keep an ear out and see if there is any gossip that might be helpful.”      “Okay,” her Dad said.       “Just be careful,”  her step mom told them.      “We will,” Willow replied.      A thought came across her mind as they were walking to the store.  “Did you see those five guys that were following us around?”       I noticed them.  Just because they looked older even though they were teenagers.  They looked hollow eyed like someone with ages on them.” Gina said.      “When did you notice this?”  Smokey asked her.      “At the skating rink.  Then I think they followed us to the concert.  Once we parked and got lost in the crowd.  I didn’t see them again.”           We did notice that they were clearing the streets a little faster than they normally do at a concert or gathering.  Thinking back on it now it does seem a little weird.”  Ginger added.      “You should’ve called us and we would have came and walked with you guys.”  Smokey said.”If it is what I think it is we’re going to need a lot of help with this one.”      “Are you thinking Vampires?”  Dawson asked.      “I am pretty sure of it.” Smokey replied.      “You mean like real vampires.  I didn’t think that they really existed.” Willow said out loud.      “You are in a whole different realm now.  Where just about everything exists.”  Smokey said to her, “So you have to be careful.  You’re just to trusting.”  Smokey said.      They went into the little country store and everyone was talking.  “They say they’ve found more bodies”      “More than what was on the news this morning?” another guy asked him.       “Yeah they’re saying there was at least 20 more.”      “I need a pack of Marlboro and a pack of Marlboro 100’s.”  Smokey told the store clerk.      He handed him the cigarettes and rang up the bill.  Smokey gave him the cash and he returned the change.  “Has it been this way all morning?”  Smokey asked the cashier.      “Pretty much ever since the paper and the morning news.”      “Where did they get their current information?”  Dawson asked.      “A couple of reporters were in here just a few minutes ago.  They were talking about what the cops had said at their last location.”      “Okay thanks,” Jesse told him.  Tbe others were already walking out the door.       “We'll have to get a grip on this soon or more people are going to die.  If they’re right that means there are at least 88 if not more.”      “How can you tell how many there are?” Willow asked Smokey.      “Because they only need one to feed on.  They said there were at least 20 more that would be 15 + 20 + 3 which would make 38.  They usually travel in packs of 50.” Smokey told Willow.      “Hell that means there are more out there.”      I don’t want you girls out of our sight until this thing is over.  We are not sure where they are hold up.  So we’ll have to wait until they come back out tonight and follow them back to where ever it is that they go.  At that time I want all of you girls with your Dad or step mom.  Your dad may want to come along.  We are going to need a lot more help if there are truly that many.”       Cops were still trying to clear the streets and get everyone in a safe house with all the doors and windows locked.       “You’ll also want to tell them if they have a fireplace, that has a chimney, to light the fire.  That way no one can come down the chimney.”  The cops just looked at him like he was crazy, but took the advise because they had no idea what they were dealing with.      Once inside Willow's where everything was sealed up tight.  Smokey told Dawson and Jesse that they all needed to get to Mystery Lake so that they could gather others to help in the fight.      “Smokey,” Willow said, “ We are going to go to Fairy Land so that we can gather more Fairies our magic can help too.”      “You be careful Willow.  Promise me.  If something doesn’t look right it’s probably not right.”     “I’ll keep an eye on them.  I’ll walk them to the garden and wait on them to return.  While I’m doing that I’ll make some calls to my Warlock friends and see if I can’t get some of them to come up and help.”       “I’ll be doing the same thing,” Eliza Said.      Actually a Sorceresses magic may be the best for demolishing these guys.  Her lightening bolts alone will cause them to fry. However, Smokey thought we will need the sunlight shimmering down through the windows to get enough of them at the same time.  While they sleep.  Then they’ll never know what is actually going on until it’s to late the more that try to see the more that will burn.      Smokey, Dawson, and Jesse left for Mystery Lake.  While Willow, Ginger, and Gina left to go see Willow's mom to find out what they needed to do to get some help from the rest of tbe magical Fairies.      When they reached the part of the garden where it was safe.  They shifted.  It was getting easier and easier for Willow now that she had done it a few times.  Her mom really wasn’t that surprised to see her they had now heard for sure what was going on in the realm.  There were plenty of volunteer Fairies to help them.  “You must only go out in the daylight,”  Willow's mom told them. “That is when they will be asleep and the sunlight will kill them.  “So that is when you strike in the day light. You will stay here until the break of dawn and then we will go to Willow’s house for the rest of the plan.  I take it by then you will know more about who else will play an important part in this?”  she asked looking at Willow.       Willow  responded, “Yes we will.  I know a few of the players already.  We’re hoping that tonight the Dragon’s will find where the vampires have been hiding out So that we can all go first thing in the morning.  Everyone will be with us. We're hoping that all of our powers together can put a stop to this thing quickly.  So we’ll see all of you at the house first thing tomorrow morning.      Willow’s Dad was able to pull together some Warlocks and Eliza was able to gather a handful of Sorceresses.  They all knew what they were up againest but they all had a good feeling that if they worked together they could make it work.  The Dragons came over before the sun went down.  They knew they would have to follow the Vampires to their hideout.  Before the sun came up they would be making their way there.  Smokey thought that it would be pretty easy to spot them after tbe girls explained what they looked like.  There speed was as fast as lightning but they grow weak and slow come morning.  They were just hoping more people wouldn’t be killed before they could stop them.  Of course,  they knew it was more than likely not a possibility.  More lives would be shed by these creatures over night , but there was nothing that could be done about it until they could find their loft and get them all in one place then they wouldn’t be able to survive all the magic forces working against them to get the light into the room all at the same time and kill the bastards.   The Dragons left and it didn’t take them long to figure out who the vampires were.  They worked in small groups so that they wouldn’t be noticed.  Of course they had no idea Dragons would be flying high above looking for them.  Once they figured out who they were then they just had to hang around and wait for the vampires to call it a night right before the sunrises.      It was just about sunrise so the Dragons came out and waited they followed them to a ran down church on the far side of town.  Now it was time to meet at Willow's and wait for noon when the sun was then at it's highest point.  They want to get them all at one time.  Careful not to wake any of them sleeping.  The Fairy's magical powers will help them to lift the coffin lids at the same time.  The dragons will provide the fire and the Sorceress have lightening bolts if necessary.  The Warlocks were going to use their magic in the dropping of the curtains all at the same time.  They had it all planned out.  Willow's Dad told everyone to get a little sleep that they were going to need all their strength for the fight.       They all left the house at about 11:00 a.m. so that they could get there and get snuck in before their plans to unveil the sunlight at noon.  Everyone was inside places set.  The Fairies magic opened the lids all at the same time.  The Warlocks magic brought down the curtains holding back the suns rays.  You could hear screeching loud noices all throughout the church.  Then you could smell the burning.  The vampires in the shadows tried to get up and fight but it was no use.  The Sorceresses lighting bolts cut right through them and the dragons fire finished up the job.  When every last vampire was burnt they were finished.  There were 50 in all.      They went back to Willows and everyone had a congratulatory drink.  They were just all glad it was over and no one else would loose their lives due to vampires on their watch.
