Far too many lives had been lost already. In a country of 5 billion people, only 5000 had managed to survive. The people inside the room knew that the civilians outside had every right to live. It would be beyond cruel to just abandon them and retreat to the safety of their fallout shelter. They weren’t prepared to face another alien invasion so soon. Everyone in that room was desperately trying to find a way to preserve the last remnants of the human race.
Alex interrupted their chain of thoughts and said, “Perhaps we should begin constructing new fallout shelters for the civilians”.
Major Morris pointed out the problem with his idea, “It takes almost 4-5 months to construct a fallout shelter equipped with the basic amenities and time is a luxury we can’t afford. We don’t even know when
