Chapter five

I was triggered by the story mama told me and wondered if men can actually be this wicked. I later gained courage and went to see Elvin, i explained all that had happened to him as I get there, he looked unhappy and also told me that he knew Eric was deeply in love with me. It was difficult for him to let me go with Eric he said, but he can't deprive me of my happiness. He wished me well and asked me to be royal to Eric,I thanked him and promised not to forget what we shared and he promised something, i could see tears allover his eyes as I was about to leave,I wish he found someone he will truly love as he do for me.

I went straight to Eric house and told him all that transpired between me and Elvin and he was so happy, he promised to inform his parents so that they could think of the next thing to do.

I went home and in formed my mother as well and she was so happy,she said it's good I told Evin myself rather than for him to fine out from someone else one day, though it's painful for him to bear now but later he will forget about me and focus on someone else.

I have always thanked God for the intelligent mother he gave to me despite the fact that she had no western education.

Mama sermon Eric for a talk days after, I hear nothing in their talk, but Eric told me mama asked him if he truly love me in which he replied yes, she told him also to come and see me anytime he wishes, I was so in praise as he told what mama said to him.

Since then,mama will not fail to give him chair to seat whenever he came to see me,and she often called him "my son",I felt important whenever she called that.

Eric told his parents about me and they asked him to bring me home, I ran to inform Aghata as his told me leaving him standing in our house and later left.

Mrs. Blessing welcome us as we visited her home, we greeted her and later asked who among you is daughter in-law? Aghata who was my companion pointed at me and bursted into laughter and said my son really have eyes, that calmed me down because I was initially afraid that maybe she may not like me as her daughter in-law because I have heard of so many girls complaining about their mother in-law not associating with them.

She hug me and sent someone to get us a drink,we said no we are okay but she insisted,we drank to our satisfaction and set by our way,my regards to your mother she said. I envy you oh,Agatha said, and why so I replied, can't you see? You have a good and caring mother in-law she said, am i married? i replied, but soon you will she sound back again, we continued debating like that till we arrived home.

Days later Eric told me that him and his people will come to do the traditional rite at the weekend, I don't just what to say because everything is just happening faster than I expected.

Eric came as he said with his people at the weekend and traditional marriage happened successfully, which also followed by the white wedding after two weeks.

The least person I expected to see in our wedding was Elvin, but to my amazement, Elvin was one of Eric men in suit, at the reception,I did all I could do to avoid eye contact with him,but he came and congratulated me.

I also wished a day like this to come and now is right here with me,time came for me mama to give me her last blessings but she bursted into tears and i also joined her,she gave me and my husband her blessings and urge us to respect and be obedient to each other.

Afterwards, I and my husband lived happily together with my mother in-law, I must confess, she has always loved and take care of me as a mother in-law should, especially now that I am pregnant and can deliver a baby any moment from now. It has been God's doing all these while.
