Chapter 2

Rea immediately stood up and left her motorcycle lying on the ground. She lifted the visor of her helmet and opened it quickly. The man was stunned. A pair of beautiful brown eyes were staring at him with an angry expression. The gaze of the girl in front of him seemed to trap him. "Are your eyesight not working properly? I just fell off my motorcycle and you're calling me stupid just because I haven't stood up yet? Shouldn't you help me first before scolding me?" Rea said sharply. The man lifted his chin. To hell with her beautiful eyes. How could the girl in front of him say he was nagging? In his entire life, this was the first time he had encountered a girl who said something like that to him. "Miss, you said I was nagging? I just wanted to say that you were wrong. You reversed and moved your motorcycle forward without looking to the right and left. Didn't you see the damage you caused to my car?" Rea glanced at the luxury sports car. The front was slightly scratched and seemed to be a little dented. "Okay, okay. How much? How much do I have to pay?" Rea asked. She lowered her voice. The man clicked his tongue. “Do you think you can afford to compensate for the damage to my car, Miss?” He looked at Rea, who looked pitiful. Her appearance was messy and even looked very boring. She wasn’t fashionable. In addition, the girl's motorcycle was an old model that had probably been manufactured almost 10 years ago. That was enough to make the man understand that Rea would not be able to pay for the damages. Rea glared at the man again with an angry look. "Why? Do you think I'm too poor to pay for the damage to your expensive car?" Rea said defiantly. She glanced at the car again. She knew it was a luxury car, but she didn't know the brand. The man folded his arms and looked at Rea with a condescending gaze. "Okay, how much can you offer?" the man asked arrogantly. Rea thought about it. She still had two thousand dollars in her bank account. She had to withdraw a thousand dollars. But she had to give that money to her younger brother for his college expenses. She could only afford to pay the man a thousand dollars. What should she do? How could she possibly give him a thousand dollars? Rea thought to herself. "Why are you so quiet, Miss?" the man asked impatiently. "Er-five hundred dollars?" Rea asked, biting her lower lip. "Five hundred dollars? Do you think five hundred dollars is enough to fix my scratched and slightly dented car? You know, even a small scratch will cause the price of this car to drop significantly." The man looked at Rea with an expression that was difficult to interpret. "Okay, okay. So how much do you actually want? I already asked how much I have to pay for the damage," Rea asked, starting to look frustrated. The man was silent and glanced at his car. "Ten thousand dollars," he said calmly. Rea's beautiful eyes widened instantly. "Ten thousand dollars? Are you kidding? Are you trying to extort me? How could a few scratches on a car cost that much? Or did you deliberately drive past it earlier? Are you trying to trap me?" Rea shouted loudly now. The man began to get angry. This woman was really testing his patience. "Miss, do you realize that you are accusing me of something I didn't do? I can sue you, Miss. Why would I want to set you up? What would I get out of it? Are you profitable to me?" the man said in an annoyed tone. Rea clenched her fists. She wanted to punch the man. But she remembered that the man could increase the amount of compensation she had to pay if she hurt his handsome face. Handsome? Huh? What was wrong with my brain? How could I think that the annoying man in front of me was handsome? Rea shook her head. "But ten thousand dollars? I don't have that much money," Rea said honestly. She hoped that the man would give her a little leeway. "I know that," the man said flatly. "If you know I'm poor, why are you still demanding such a large amount of compensation from me?" Rea replied irritably. The man did not respond to Rea's words. He asked for something that confused Rea. "Where's your ID card?" "Huh? What for?" "I have to take a photo of it. This is just in case you run away from your responsibilities." Rea clicked her tongue in annoyance, but she still handed over her ID card, which was stored in her backpack, to the man. He then photographed Rea's ID card and immediately returned it to its owner. The man then took his wallet out of his pants pocket and took out a business card. He handed it to Rea. "This is my business card. I'll wait for you here tomorrow at ten in the morning." Rea read the business card and gasped. "Hotel? You mean-" The man put his index finger to Rea's lips before she could say anything else strange. "Don't be silly! Do you think I'm interested in doing anything to your skinny body? Sorry, Miss. I have to say you're not my type." Rea stared blankly. “Just come! Tell the receptionist you want to meet me! Be on time!” After saying that, the man simply walked away from Rea. Rea was stunned. “Damn it!” Rea put her hands on her hips and stared at her motorcycle, still feeling annoyed. "Wow, what a perfect 25th birthday!" Rea said with a wry smile. But she didn't want to dwell on her misfortune for too long, so she quickly took the money from the machine and went home. She saw her younger brother studying when she opened the door to his room. She handed him the money she had just withdrawn. "Thanks, Sis," Eric said to his sister. The young man knew that his sister had been working hard for their family. He never embarrassed his older sister and always got the best grades. The last thing he wanted was to disappoint his older sister. So now he was really trying to graduate on time and start working to help support their family. "Sis, take a shower first! Then we'll cut the cake!" Eric said. Rea was stunned, not expecting that her only brother would remember her birthday. She hurried to clean herself up and then came back down to celebrate her birthday with her brother and her mother, who had just returned from working at a minimarket not far from their house. That night, Rea couldn't sleep. She remembered Ray's words about getting married soon. "How could he do that? Could he have been involved with that woman before today?" Rea started crying again. But her tears stopped when she remembered her meeting tomorrow with the man she had hit, who was demanding compensation from her. "Rea, you don't have time to be heartbroken. Stop thinking about that jerk!" Rea said to herself. She quickly grabbed her bag and looked for the business card the man had given her. "The Storm Hotel. Justin Black. CEO." Rea's jaw dropped. "He's a CEO?" "Wait a minute! If he really is a CEO, doesn't that mean he has a lot of money? Ten thousand dollars is surely a small amount for him. He's a CEO. From a five-star hotel. Then why is he asking me for compensation? This is strange!" Rea grumbled. Rea shook her head and began to feel even more uncertain. "Could this business card be fake? Isn't it easy for people to forge business cards these days? But ... He has a luxury car. It's definitely a car that I'm afraid to think about the price of." “Ah … maybe he’s not a CEO, but a driver. Yeah, that makes sense. He must not be the owner of the car and is just a driver. Besides, how could a CEO drive his own car?” Rea thought.
