Hello there, lovely people! So here is the chapter: Emerald's POV: Due to the all brightness that surrounded me, I opened and closed my eyes several times. Then slowly opened them to adjust to the brightness and take in the surroundings. As I looked around, I realised I wasn't in my bed anymore, and it didn't even appeared to be Ana's room. Then everything came back rushing to my thoughts: gunshots, a blue-eyed man, and me blacking out. I looked for my phone, hoping to contact Ana or someone else who could help me in going back by to my place. I found it on the bedside table, but the screen was completely cracked. I picked it up and tried to turn it on, but it wouldn't turn on. I looked for my phone so I could call Ana or anyone else who could assist me in getting home. I found it on the bedside table, but the screen was completely cracked. I picked it up and tried to turn it on, but it wouldn't work. It was most probably completely damaged to even turn on, or else it didn't have any charge left. I exited what appeared to be a luxurious hotel room and walked to the main doors. There were men standing outside who I had seen with that blue-eyed guy before. "Are you leaving?" one of them inquired. I simply nodded because I had seen them with guns and was afraid to say anything. "How? Did the boss give you permission to leave? " He inquired. " Yes, he was the one who told me to leave," I said. I want to leave this place as soon as possible. "If that's the case, we won't stop you. You are free to go, "he said as he moved out of my way. I walked up to the elevator and pressed the button. I desperately wanted to escape. When the elevator door opened, some people were already inside, so I pressed the ground floor button and stood at the corner. I made my way out of the lift and walked around looking for an exit. With the right turn, I was able to get it. I was walking past the reception area when the receptionist called me. "Excuse me, Miss." I was frozen in the place, terrified of what was about to happen. "Yes," I responded as I turned around. "Mr. Lexon requested that you wait here," she explained. I'm not sure who Mr. Lexon is. She saw my puzzled expression and replied, "The one who brought you here," and I was taken aback as to why he had asked me to wait. At the same time, I noticed the same blue-eyed man, Mr. Lexon, approaching me. I could tell he was irritated. I wanted to run, but my legs were stuck to the floor. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me along with him to the elevator. With a ping, the elevator doors opened, and he forced me into it with force. I stood too far away in one corner, scared to even utter word. "You shouldn't have lied to my men," he hissed. He looked even more pissed now. Even though I was terrified, I didn't want to admit it. "Let me go," I yelled back. He took a step closer to me. I got more terrified. I got more uncomfortable and had no idea what to do. I took a step back as he took one more ahead. This continued until my back collided with the elevator's cold steel wall. He didn't move any further, maintaining a safe distance. He gently smiled as he stared at me. "Are you afraid?" he asked while a smirk on his face. "N… Noo," I said. "Then why did you stammer?" "No, I didn't," I replied. Without saying anything else, he took my hand in a looser grip than the one he had when he pulled me to walk to the elevator. I tried to stop him, but he wouldn't stop. He led me back to his room. "What's your name?" he asked as soon as we walked into his room. I was confused about why he was asking, but I had no choice but to reply. "Ar Ariana..." I replied after a minute or two. I don't want them to find out anything about me and become involved in all of this. They appeared to be a group of dangerous people. "Ariana what?" he said, taking a step towards me, and I took a step back. His tone terrified me even more this time. All the amusement was long gone. With his dark cold blue eyes, he looked nothing but scary. I don't really want to show him that I'm afraid or helpless. "Ariana William," I lied confidently. He was lost in his own world and didn't say anything for a minute. "OK, I'll let you go, but..." he said after a moment of silence, closing the distance between us, and I moved back, hitting my back against the closed door. Why does he have to be such an intimidating person all the time? However, this time he didn't stop there; instead, he got closer and closer. "But what?" I asked, looking into his blue eyes. He kept both hands on either side of the door, enclosing me underneath his large frame. His body was only a few inches away from mine. I've never been so intimidated by a man in my entire life. Our lips were inches apart as he began to lean in closer. My back was pressed against the closed door. I felt his hot breath on my ear lobe as he moved to my right. "But you have to keep it a secret that you ever met me or ever came here," he said in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. He moved back as if nothing had happened. Such a jerk. "All right." I ask you something?" I said while looking down, not finding the courage to look him in the eyes while talking to him. "Look at me, Ms. William," he said. But I wasn't ready to do so. "I said look at me," he hissed, and I did as I was told. His blue orbs met my green ones, and I was lost in them. They were filled with emotion, but I couldn't quite understand what they said. He quickly masked it with a straight face. "What do you want to ask?" he asked. We were so close that, I could feel his hot, minty breath on my face. My heart was racing so fast, it was like I was running a marathon. "W....Why were people in the restaurant trying to attack you?" I asked worried, afraid that he would snap out of his anger. "They were rivals." "When you're running a bigger business, all of these things happen from time to time," he said. "What kind of business?" It came out of my mouth before I could think. "It's none of your business," he hissed, making me shiver. He stepped back and yelled angrily. "You can leave," he said, and his tone got me even more terrified. I didn't want to piss him off anymore because he could use his gun to kill me. So, I turned around and was about to walk away when he said, "You know the 'Crystals and Diamonds' company?" he asked. I turned to face him and nodded. No words came out of my mouth. I've heard about that company. It is one of the largest corporations and has many branches all over the world. "Well, I own it," he said, and he went to his room without listening to what I had to say. I caught a glimpse of his retrieving back before he shut the door. I walked out of the room and then out of the hotel. I took a cab back to the office, where I was greeted by none other than my boss, Mr. Richard " Always make a total effort, even when the odds are against you " -K.K.
