Chapter 2

1330 Words
Hello there, lovely people! Here's the next chapter: Alan's POV: "Yes, Mr. Jackson. I am in L.A. now. I will meet you there in the evening to discuss our new project, " I said to one of my clients, and was about to hang up when a girl bumped into me. She was about to fall as a result of the impact when I slid my arms around her waist to keep her from falling down. She was breath-taking with her brown hair, fair skin, small nose, and plump lips that begged me to touch them. Her eyes were still tightly shut. I was waiting for her to open her eyes. I saw her green orbs after what seemed like an eternity and was lost in them. All of a sudden, they reminded me of someone. " Could she be the one I'm looking for? " I thought, but then almost chuckled within myself at my thought. She could easily be someone else. There are a lot of girls with these kinds of eyes. Perhaps I'm simply overthinking things. I couldn't look away from her. For a second, my heart skipped a beat. She sat up straight immediately, her gaze fixed on me and my bodyguards. "Watch where you go, lady," it came out a little harsher than I intended. Why the hell can't I have a proper conversation with someone? I muttered in annoyance as I picked up my phone from the ground, taking my gaze off of her. I was interrupted by a phone call she received, and I heard the girl say, "I'm coming." At the same moment, a gunshot rang out, and everyone began to scatter. It was all chaos. I pulled out my gun, and both of my men went into attack mode, pulling out their weapons and pointing them in the direction of the gunfire. One of my bodyguards came dangerously close to being shot. However, he was able to catch the attacker of the attack. My men know very well what's best to do in such a situation. They are trained to do so. They're used to all this. I pulled the girl to a corner so I could protect her from any more gun shots. I would have done that for anyone else as well, but there was this strong feeling of having to protect her from all this and everything else that happens to her. It was as if it was my job to do it. There are chances that she could be the one I came searching for all the way from San Diego. Even so, I feel it was because of me that she became who she is today. She looked very much terrified. Her eyes were shut tightly, and she shivered with fear, covering her ears with her hands. I felt awful for her because she had gotten involved in all of this because she was around me. Tears streamed down her cheeks. I held her hands in mine and tried to make her feel a bit better. But she wouldn't stop sobbing; in fact, she was crying much worse now. I tried everything I could to calm her down, but couldn't. My men went there to catch the person who tried to attack us. I was looking around for the safest spot for the girl when I felt something heavy on my shoulder. The young lady had fainted out. She most likely never saw something like this in her entire life. What was I thinking? Most people, unlike me, have a peaceful life. I tried shaking her arm in an attempt to wake her up, but nothing happened. One of my men returned with a beaten up man, and the other two followed closely behind. "Sir, there were two people firing at the same time. "We've killed one, and another has been captured alive," one of my men informed me. "Do what you're supposed to do with him, but not here, " I warned. " And one of you drive me back to the hotel, "I added. They know just how to deal with guys like them. They were about to go when I remembered something. "John, come with me, you need treatment," I said to John, who had been bleeding from a gun shot wound. I made my way out, carrying the girl in my arms in a bridal manner. When I got to my hotel room, I put the girl in my bed. At the same moment, the doctor knocked on her door and came in to examine her. I had instructed my bodyguard to get a doctor to check her. The doctor examined her and said that she had suffered a panic attack as a result of some trauma and had passed out. There was nothing to be concerned about, and she would probably regain consciousness after some time. As the doctor gave her the injection, he told us there was nothing to worry about and that she would become conscious after a while. Then he stitched up John's arm wound and treated it. The bullet had only passed through his arm, so it wasn't as severe as it could have been. The doctor left, and I followed my men out of the room and into the hotel's living room. I asked about the people responsible for all of this. The guy who was caught did not say anything. But I'm certain I know who's behind it all. There would be no one else who would dare to do this except him. "Did you find any information about the girl I asked you to look for?" I inquired with my men. "Sir, we asked someone from here, and he said he knew something, so maybe we'll find her soon," one of them said. "All right, you guys can go for now and let me know if you get any more information," I said. "Yes, sir," they replied before leaving. "Hey bro, what the hell happened in the hotel?" my right hand and my best friend David, said as soon as he saw me. He is more like a brother to me and has been with me since I was a child. "There were some gunshots, and John was slightly injured," I explained. "Do you think he did it?" he asked as he sat down on the couch. "Who else would do that?" I said, irritated. "Who is that beautiful girl?" With a look on his face, Dav questioned as he stood up. " At the time of the gunshots, this girl was there. I brought her here because she was scared and got unconscious, "I responded. She was absolutely gorgeous, and she appeared to be in a much better state than she had been previously. I couldn't take my eyes off of her beautiful face, her soft cheeks, her closed eyes, and her pink lips. I so desperately wanted to kiss her. I have got a feeling there is something more to her than her external appearance that has drawn me to her since the first time I laid eyes on her, but I can't put my finger on it. What the hell is wrong with me? There are so many other things I need to focus on right now that it would be a bad time for me to want a girl. I decided to take a shower to help ease the uneasiness and went to my bathroom. Outside, I heard a rumbling noise. I quickly finished my shower and rushed out of the bathroom, wrapping a towel around my waist. To my surprise, the girl was no longer on the bed and was nowhere to be seen in the room. I looked for her in the adjacent terrace area, but she wasn't there either. Where the hell did she go in this state............ "We don’t meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a greater reason" - K.K.
