The next morning, Henry couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted. The encounter with Catherina, the cold dismissal of Emilia, and those damn words—things you don’t see—lingered in his mind like poison, swirling in his thoughts and clouding his judgment. The air in his office felt thick, as if the walls themselves were closing in. He hadn’t expected Catherina to challenge him so openly, so brazenly, but now it was clear: his grip on the company, on everything, was far more fragile than he’d assumed. The confidence he’d built his career on was beginning to erode, chipped away by unseen forces. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration mounting. Catherina had always been a formidable presence, but he had believed, perhaps foolishly, that as CEO, his decisions would hold sway.
