CHAPTER TWO Long after Trev left for home to get ready for work, Charlotte sat out on the balcony. Although her laptop was open, ready for her to set up ads and continue planning the promotion of the Giving Tree project, she struggled to take her eyes off the new addition. Set in the corner where the wall of the balcony met the railing, the pine tree changed colour as the light altered. From its silvery blue tone in bright sunlight, as the shadows lengthened so did the hues. With nightfall an hour or so away, the Christmas tree was sea-blue. As a small breeze rustled its branches, the silver undertones were like waves on an ocean. All she needed was the scent of the sea… Charlotte collected a box from inside. Sent from her friend, Christie Blake, it was a candle made for such a moment.
