16- Monday Blues

Cari’s POV

“Hey Lumi, thanks for picking me up, I honestly don’t feel like driving today.”

“No problem girl!, so what have I missed these past couple of days? I’m sorry I wasn’t around much, I was majorly busy” she said after hugging me. "Tell me what I missed."

“Where to start, I met my mate but he hasn’t acknowledged me as his mate. I fainted after taking the psych test, which is where I first saw him by the way.

When I fainted he caught me so I wouldn’t hit the ground, then he took me to the pack medical center. When he entered my room, he gave me one of my fave candies without even knowing it was my fave, which turns out to be his favorite candy also. He’s going to be the Beta when I take over as Alpha. Hmm, what else? He’s the Betas Nephew and is one of the two new people who will be in our pack. That I know of the other person hasn’t shown up yet. You saw him at the training session and you saw what happened when he noticed how Pete looked at me while I was stretching. What does that even mean?”

She glanced at me: “damn, that’s a lot to take in, are you sure you got enough oxygen while saying all of that?”

I punched her arm playfully while laughing: “shut up.”

She responded by yelling at me: “ Hey, careful, I’m driving.”

“Lumi what do you think is the deal with him? I’m so confused. If I’m his mate then why hasn’t he acknowledged it? He can’t act jealous but not want to state he’s my mate.”

“Cari I could say the same to you. Why haven’t you approached him if you know that he’s your mate?”

“Yeah okay…, You know that I’m shy, I don’t feel comfortable being the first person to make a move, I’m too worried about rejection.”

“Caridad, you know he’s not going to reject you, look at you, you’re gorgeous and anyone would be lucky to have you as their mate. Who knows, maybe he’s feeling just as nervous about rejection as you are.

“Nope, that’s highly doubtful, you saw him, he doesn’t throw off the vibe of being a shy person. I know my dad knows something about him but I don’t know if he would tell me what he knows.”

She gave me a determined look: “Don’t worry boo, everything will work itself out, you’ll see.”

“Ugh, I hope so. Let’s just get this crappy day over with.”

She shook her head in agreement: “You could say that again boo-boo.”
