Caridad’s POV
I’m nervous. After that convo with Lumi, I’m going to try to gauge where Chase’s head is at. The first step is to find out what happened during training. I need to know why exactly he freaked out on Pete.
As I’m at my locker, I smelt that intoxicating chocolate scent but it is a little different, it has a hint of mint in it. When I looked up from my phone and see him, he looks the same yet different somehow. How in the world is that even possible? Who is this person walking right toward me? Why is he walking towards me? What is going on?
Once he reaches me he says: “Hey, you must be Cari.”
“Yeah, that’s me. I would go as far as to call you Chase but you don’t have his exact scent.”
My wolf is just as confused as I am.
He smirks at me and then said: “Smart girl, my name is Jason, I’m Chase’s twin brother, did he not mention me?”
That explains the slight difference between them.
“Nope, he didn’t. I knew another student came in the same day as he did but I didn’t think you would be brothers or that both of the new people would be joining my pack.
He pouted slightly: “Sorry about the confusion I thought my uncle or Chase would have mentioned me to you. Guess not, ah well.”
“Well, it’s nice to meet you-“
I got cut off by my wolf yelling in my head excitedly. (“MATE!”).
What the f**k? How is this possible? This can’t be possible. I can’t have two mates. My wolf must be on crack. This has never happened in a million years. Oh my god, I feel myself begin to freak out.
Okay, I took a deep breath and let it out slowly to compose myself.
I cleared my throat: “Sorry, it’s nice to meet you, Jason.”
“Trust me, Cari, the pleasure is all mine. By the way, I love vanilla and chocolate.”
He gives me a panty-wetting smile and oh my god I felt my face turn red like a tomato. I have to try to play it cool.
“Indeed it is Jason.”
Lumi and Ryan are just standing next to me watching this whole exchange without saying a word until Luminara clears her throat.
“Oh, sorry, these are my best friends Luminara but I call her Lumi and Ryan.”
He sticks his hand out to shake theirs: “It’s nice to meet you guys. Do any of you have English now?”
Ryan groans: “Yeah, don’t remind me. come on I’ll show you where it is bro.”
Jason turns to look at Lumi and I: “Aight cool, see you, beautiful ladies, around.”
There’s that sexy ass smile again. The guys walked away while talking about sports. What’s up with guys and sports? I’ll never understand it.
“Lumi, I’m f****d big time.”
“Why do you say that Cari? You know, if things don’t work out with Chase, Jason is hot so just go after him, besides he seems to like you.”
I let out a frustrated breath, “That’s the problem.”
“What do you mean? I don’t see how that’s a problem.”
“Because Lumi my wolf just said that he’s also my mate. How’s that even possible?”
She put a confused face: “I’m sorry, I still don’t see a problem, you got two hot guys as mates and they’re twins so you know they’ll get along. Where’s the issue?”
“Lumi, you have a point but you’re crazy. I can’t have two mates. I’m going to have to choose or reject one but who? Maybe they’ll both just reject me since neither one acknowledged me as their mate.”
“Cari, I swear only you have all of this crazy s**t to worry about. I’m glad I’m not you. It could not be me dealing with all the crap you have on your plate. Good luck with that girl! Byeeeee.”
She begins walking away.
“SERIOUSLY, YOU’RE JUST GOING TO LEAVE ME TO FIGURE THIS OUT ALONE RIGHT NOW?”
She looks back at me and yells: “YUP, I GOTTA GET TO CLASS, I LOVE YOU BOO-BOO, YOU GOT THIS GIRL!”
“I LOVE YOU TOO, YOU OWE ME ONE FOR DITCHING ME.”
She continued walking to her class and laughed mischievously.
What am I going to do? Oh I know, I have a free period so I’ll just head to the library and see what I can find out.
