Jason’s POV
Thank god class just let out, this day has been dragging.
As I walk down the hall I see Ryan. “YO RYAN, WAIT UP.”
He stops walking and waits for me to catch up to him. He gave me a pound in greeting: “what’s up man?
Hey, do you know what class Cari has right now?
He gives me a knowing smirk: “She’s done for the day. We’re thinking about hitting up the movies or just hang out somewhere, want to come?”
“Yeah man, I’m down, I’ll just meet up with my uncle afterward.
He gave me an uneasy look, “You sure Jason? Beta can be a scary dude if he’s pissed off.”
I laugh. “Yeah, I’m good, I’ll just mind link him, it’ll be cool.
When we got off campus Cari and I locked eyes. My heart begins to pick up pace. What is happening to me? How is she affecting me so much?
My wolf lays down in total relaxation once I was standing next to Cari and says (“just shut up and enjoy it”).
Cari looks up at me and smiles: “Hey Jason, done for the day?”
“Hey Cari, hey Lumi. I couldn’t take another boring second in there, I’m glad classes are done.”
Caridad laughs. The sound of her laugh was like music to my ears. I’m confused by my reactions to her, but I’m going to listen to my wolf and just enjoy being in her company. I’ll worry about what’s happening to me later.
Cari broke me out of my thoughts once she speaks again: “I hear ya, I don’t like these classes either. I keep telling myself I’m almost done and to just hang on a little longer. I’m sure we’ll be done before we know it.”
“So Jason, you and Chase are brothers right?” Lumi asked after winking at Cari.
“Yeah, we’re twins but we act differently.”
Lumi responded with: “Yeah we noticed.”
“What do you mean? What has Chase done already?”
Ryan laughed: “Yoooo! you should have been there, he freaked out on Pete.
“Freaked out how?”
“He knocked the wind out of him when he tackled him to the ground during training”. Ry said.
“Oh s**t, for real?”
Lumi laughed: “Yeah, he went all Beta male on him because he caught Pete staring at Cari while she was stretching, it was hilarious seeing Pete submit to him afterward.”
Cari looked confused: “speaking of Chase, where is he? I need to speak to him.
“He’s um... busy at the moment but I can relay a message that him.”
Lumi looks at Cari and then gave her a mischievous smile: “have you found mates yet?”
Cari choked on the water she was drinking then Lumi and Ryan started laughing.
I looked at her and pat her back.
“Are you okay?”
She cleared her throat and blushed.“Yeah, I’m okay.”
Ryan looks at me and shakes his head: “You don’t have to answer that.”
Lumi made a yeah right sound: “What? of course he has to answer it, curious minds want to know.”
Ryan gave Lumi a look, “Why do you want to know, it’s not like if you want a mate anyway!” He told her.
Lumi laughed and said in a joking tone: “shut up, let’s just say, that piece of information would be good for people to know.”
“You don’t want a mate?” I asked.
Ryan shakes his head: “She’s just like that right now because her wolf is mad at her and is giving her the silent treatment due to something about embarrassing her when she was in front of her mate.
"Wait, how is that even possible.”
Luminara groaned: “since someone likes to give away secrets because he’s feeling salty, fine!, Mr.salty over here has always been one of my closest friends and we always joked around with each other. One day he came up to me looking serious and said that his wolf has claimed me as his mate, of course, I didn’t believe him so I started laughing at him and told him that it’s not possible.”
Ryan rolled his eyes.
“Why didn’t you think it was possible?”
Cari answered my question this time: “because she’s a month younger than him so at that point, her wolf wasn’t ready to acknowledge him as her mate yet, so Lumi had no idea.”
Lumi laughs: “imagine my surprise a month later when my wolf chewed my head off, she was like what the f**k! he was serious and you just laughed at him, that’s so damn embarrassing, I can’t believe you did that! how am I supposed to show my face to his wolf now; when you want to be all crazy like that? I tried to apologize to my wolf but she’s still mad at me and is too embarrassed to show her face to Ryan’s wolf even after all this time.”
“Have you guys gotten the chance to talk about it in your human form, so your wolves can begin to work on it ?”
They both look down embarrassed and said: “no” at the same time.
Cari sighed: “what!? I have been told you guys to do that, and I thought you did when I saw you getting along with no awkwardness between you two, what the hell guys.”
“Come on Cari let’s leave them to take care of that and go grab something to eat. You can even call this a date if you want to.”
Lumi let out an “oo” sound (like when you see something fascinating).
Cari looks at me shocked.
“A date?” She asked.
“Yeah if you’re interested.”
Ryan grabbed Luminara’s hand: “come on Lumi let’s go.”
They walked away, leaving Cari and I alone.
Cari blushed so much that her face turned into a tomato red color.
“Okay Jason, we can do that.”
God red looks so good on her.
