Lilith’s POV

“Oh Lilith, I am sorry you had to see this,” Kate groaned as she rushed up to me.

Ryker stared at me with a narrowed gaze, I was still looking at his hand around Dahlia’s waist when he pushed back his chair and stormed up to me.

“What the f**k are you doing here?” he growled.

I locked eyes with him, biting down on my bottom lip as I searched his eyes for any sign of remorse, I found none. I had just caught him with the same woman he claimed he had no contact with, and all he could do was to ask me questions.

“She works here, ass…” Kate was about to spew insults on Ryker, as I turned to her she pegged her lips and looked away.

“Work? Here?!” Ryker thundered as he looked around. “Why the heck will you work in a restaurant, Lilith, do you want to bring shame to me?”

I blinked at him. He had flared up and was demanding explanations from me. Who brought shame to whom? Who had taken a girl out to a restaurant, when he was supposed to meet with his wife, to visit his daughter’s grave?

My gaze went to Dahlia, she crossed her hands over her chest as she stared back at me, with a smug look on her face. She was wearing a short bodycon dress, her beauty and her nice figure made me feel intimidated, I looked away immediately.

“Speak up!!” Ryker growled as he grabbed my arm. Kate shifted beside me. I blinked at her to calm down, then I faced Ryker.

“You are causing a scene in my workplace, Ryker,” I said softly. If I talk any higher than this, I might burst into tears. “We will talk, but not here.”

He heard the firm note on my voice and he gritted his teeth and pushed me off, I staggered back, and Kate held my shoulder.

Ryker turned to Dahlia, he took her hand and pulled her with him as he stormed out of the restaurant. He took her with him, even after I had seen them together, he didn’t even explain or apologize. He humiliated me in front of her.

I stared into space. I didn’t turn to look at them, I didn’t look at Kate, I just walked into the restaurant and started serving the customers, quietly, Kate watched me from a distance, I respected how sensible she was, she knew I needed space.

I returned home, tired and hungry, as I entered the sitting room, I saw Ryker on the couch. The house looked dirty and I can’t perceive the aroma of dinner. I took a deep breath, knowing I had so much to do before I could rest.

“Why are you back so late?” I ignored him as I kept moving, I noticed him behind me and he held my hand and made me face him.

“Are you ignoring me? Liltih?” he growled.

“I had to work,” I muttered.

His rage calmed and I noticed his eyes widened, he looked sad. I turned to leave anyway.

“I didn’t know you worked at the restaurant.”

I paused. “You didn’t ask.”

I thought of Kate’s words this morning, they seemed to be true, I felt a pang in my chest as I recalled how he was with Dahlia.

“You know it would have been nice if you cared about me, at least once, the way you cared for her today.”

I noticed his brow raise in anger, he balled his fist. I had annoyed him. He is always so sensitive when I talk about her.

“Lilith… I was busy at work, I just happened to pass by your working place, I saw Dahlia too and I just couldn’t let that girl at the restaurant insult her.”

I shrugged as I turned to leave. I was so tired, I needed to get done with the house chores and rest.

Ryker came in front of me and he held my hand. “You know I am telling the truth, there is no dirty relationship between Dahlia and I… she is innocent.”

I sighed and nodded. He was right, if he had s*x with her I would feel the intense pain of our bond breaking. But, I don’t feel it.

I closed my eyes as I let my hands fall by my side, I didn’t hug him back.

I shot my eyes open when I felt his lips crash on my neck. He groaned as he ran his hand over my back.

“I’ve missed you, baby…” he groaned as he pulled back and grabbed my hair and kissed me harshly on my lips.

I swallowed as I pushed him with his chest away. “I’m tired, Ryker.”

He smirked. “I will make you feel better.” He bent down and carried me off my feet, groaning and crouching because of my weight and he made me sit on the sofa.

He placed his finger on my lips as he shushed me. He lifted my dress and pulled it over my head. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as he pushed down his pants. I swallowed when I saw how hard he was.

I should let him release, even though I am not in the mood.

I am glad Ryker was still faithful, that means he is still interested in me. I’m sure he said those words, because I hurt him.
