The Death, The Funeral, and the Shock
Have you ever had a problem with a guy that you realize you fell in love with, even though you never wanted to fall in love, because you been hurt to much in your life? I don't mean just by guys, I mean by family too. Well this story is about a girl and a guy who can't choose who he wants. First they were friends and the guy has a girlfriend already, but one night changes everything. That night changes the girl's outlook on love. That night shocked her, but she started falling for him three weeks later. I have to start from the beginning, so you can understand how she feels and how he feels.
There was a girl named Isis, she was named after a goddess. Isis never got along with her mom, but she still respected her. She got along better with her dad and she was a daddy's little girl on top of that. Early February Isis heard her uncle died. She knew he was going to die, she had that feeling in her stomach, so she didn't cry, but she was quiet.
Her dad came outside while Isis was shoveling snow out of the driveway with her little sister who was 14 years old, so people can get out of the driveway. Her dad walked up to them and he had a sad look on his face. He said "Your uncle William died last night in his sleep. He had a heart attack." Isis and her little sister Bri looked at each other than back at their dad.
Isis just looked down and kept shoveling snow and said softly, but where everyone can hear her " I knew he was going to die, I saw a black crow and I had this feeling in my stomach that told me something bad happened."
Her dad looked at her and he said " Yea, I just wish you girls could have seen him more."
Isis had no emotions on her face and she just acted like it was just another normal day. Her sister Bri was sad and stopped shoveling snow and walked inside to sit down. Isis just kept shoveling snow and her eyes watered up, but she just acted like nothing bad happened and just rubbed her eyes and the tears away. Her dad looked at her in a worried way. He just wrapped his arms around Isis and held her in his arms for a few seconds. He let go of her and placed his hand on her shoulder, then walked off. Isis just stared at the snow and kept shoveling for another 25 mins. Then she put the shovels up and walked inside. Her mom looked at her and asked if she was ok. Isis turned her head to her and smiled than made herself some hot coco after she turned away from her mom.
Her mom walked off and Lilli asked if she was ok, her mom said "Yes, sissy just needs some alone time right now, she is just acting strong for us so we don't have to worry about her." Lilli shook her head yes and went into the other room to watch Spongbob Squarepants.
A few days have past, Isis dad left to head back to Missouri and help with the funeral of her dead uncle. One day when it was a normal day she asked to talk with her mom. Her mom shook her head yes and they walked into the bathroom. At first her mom wouldn't let Isis or Bri go to the funeral, but when Isis and her mom was in the bathroom that idea changed.
Isis looked at her mom and said " Can you please let me go to my uncle's funeral?"
Her mom looked at her and said " No, you have school tomorrow and you barely got to see him anyways."
Isis got mad at her mom and calmly, as nicely as possible " That was because you never let us see him and when we tried in summer time it wasn't much or very long, because dad had to work and we didn't have a car!"
Her mom glared at her and yelled "Don't get smart with me young lady! No is no!"
Isis glared, than out of nowhere all the tears she held in for those few days since she found out about his death just came out like a waterfall " BUT I NEVER I GOT TO SEE THAT MUCH! WHY COULDN'T I SEE HIM MORE, WHY! I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN HIM MORE! I MISS HIM I REALLY MISS HIM!" Isis hit the bathtub with her hands and yelled while crying "WHY COULDN'T I SEE HIM AGAIN BEFORE HE DIED! WHY DID YOU KEEP ME AWAY FROM HIM! WHY MOM WHY! I DIDN'T EVER GET TO SAY GOODBYE! I WANTED TO SAY GOODBYE FIRST, BUT YOU KEPT ME AWAY FROM HIM! YOU KEPT ME AWAY FROM HIM!"
Isis mom started crying because she never saw Isis this emotional before. Isis always had to act strong and be happy, so she doesn't worry anybody. she never wanted to cry, because she felt weak when she did, but she was strong for too long and just cried. Her mom knew why she never showed emotions and why she acted so strong, even though her mom told her it never good to keep her emotions in, if you let them out you won't be weak you would just be stronger.
Her mom walked to her and held her in her arms as they both cried together "Your uncle William was a good man, he took care of you girls in time of need. I am sorry I kept you away, I knew I shouldn't have. I am sorry!" Isis just hugged her mom and cried on her as she held Isis in her arms.
Than Isis looked her mom with tears down her face and in her eyes and said softly "Than why didn't I get to see him before he died?"
Isis mom looked at her while tears ran down her face. Her mom said softly " I will let you go to his funeral, I am sorry."
Isis looked at her mom and cried more while saying " Thank you, but what about Bri."
Her mom looked at her and said "I am only letting you go, because we don't have enough money for two train tickets and Bri has school."
Isis sighed at her and said ok. when Isis went to ask Bri for her suitcase, Bri asked why. Isis told her why and than Bri got mad and started yelling at her mom and argued with her mom. That was the first time Isis saw rebellious toward mom from Bri. They fought and then Bri gave up.
A week after that Isis dad came down again to take her there on the train. They said goodbye to everyone than headed on the train to Sedalia Missouri for the funeral. The day of the funeral came, Isis saw her cousins Adam and Austin, along with her Aunt Sherry and family members she didn't know she had.
As Isis opened the door for people and saw her dead uncle before people came, she had a feeling she was being watched, but she just looked the other way. As everyone came and she was waiting for her aunt Sherry she saw her Uncle's spirit in the room by the door and she gasped. Austin and Adam was beside her and looked at her and asked " Are you ok Isis?" Tears filled up in her blue eyes and she put her hands over her mouth. Isis just stared at the door to the funeral room and the boys looked where she looked and said "Hey, what are you looking at?'
Isis turned to them and the boys saw her face she said " Uncle William is here by the door of the funeral room smiling and watching everyone walk in!" The boys looked and said, "What, is he still here!?" Isis shook her head and said "Yes, he is staying to see his funeral till the end." The boys gasped than grabbed their Uncle Jerry, Isis dad, and when Isis Aunt Sherry walked in they grabbed her and told them outside. Sherry asked if he was still here and Isis shook her head yes, than Sherry cried.
Sherry looked at her and said " I am glad he his here. I am so happy he is. My husband is here in spirit form." Jerry looked at her and said " I saw him too, I just can't believe Isis saw him too." Isis looked at them and hugged everyone.
Sherry said " Let's go in, it's starting." everyone agreed and walked in she caught a glimpse of a guy with shaggy brown hair, Black glasses, and what looked to be wearing a gray vest with a red bow tie. Isis asked who he was and Austin said, " That is my best friend. His name is Joe." Isis looked at him and said "oh, ok." everyone went up to talk about Uncle William.
Isis got up and grabbed the microphone, than said " My uncle was a good man, he had a loving heart and a wonderful personality, I miss him I wish- I wish-" Isis started crying and looked at Joe then looked away at her family so Joe doesn't see her cry or anyone, but her family to see her cry. She said softly while she noticed her dad crying "I wish- I wish." Isis's Aunt Sherry came up and stood by her holding here with one arm saying it's ok. Isis looked at her and said, "I wish I could have been around more with him. I wish I could have seen him more. I love my uncle." Isis notice Adam crying so much and she never seen him cry like that. Isis looked at her dad and uncle and everyone else in the family crying. Isis went and sat down by her dad. Isis dad held her in his arms as they cried. Than he went up there to talk.
The funeral was over and everyone was saying goodbye. That was when Isis saw Joe walk up to her aunt. Her aunt said " thanks for coming." she hugged him and Isis just stared at him than looked away quickly. Her aunt notice what Isis was doing than she said " Isis this is Joe, he is Austin's best friend. He is like a son to me." Isis said hi and waved than looked away and walked off. Her Aunt smiled at her as she started to approach Isis.
Sherry said " so that was a good speech."
Isis looked at her and said "I guess it was, but I cried like a baby and I hate crying, I feel weak when I cry."
Sherry smile and hugged her than said " I am glad you came down, but sometimes crying helps instead of hiding your feelings like you do all the time. I hope that change one day, because it's not good for you to hide and bottle up how you feel. Maybe a guy will change that about you."
Isis smiled than said "maybe, but I dislike love, all its good for is hurting you."
Sherry shook her head " Honey, you just gotta wait for the right one to come down. Maybe if you find a good guy, he will treat you better, than everyone else treats you."
Isis looked at her and said "maybe, but I doubt that will happen." Sherry smiled and hugged her than said " i got to say to people see you later,"
Isis left the funeral with her dad and Deedee. They went home and Deedee left after she dropped us off. Isis called her mom and few hours later and said " mom can i stay till monday evening?" Isis mom flipped out and said " No, you have school!"
Isis yelled back at her mom "but i have family here I barely see who needs me more than you all do!"
Her mom yelled back " Don't yell at me and give me f*****g attitude! You are coming back down on that train Sunday morning you got it!" She hung up on Isis, but Isis called back.
Her mom yelled " if you are calling me to argue again I am not going to talk! You are coming home whether you like it or not!
Isis got so mad at her mom and said "I am not going back on that train, even if you make me! I am staying here for my family they need me! I might as well not get on the train. Why won't you just die!" Isis hung up the phone and through it across the room at the wall. Isis dad looked at her and she just sat down on the bed than crawled under the blankets, slowly falling asleep.
When Isis woke up it was dark out and she looked at her phone it was 10:30pm. she heard her dad saying "Brandy are you sure?" Isis walked out of the bedroom and looked at him.
Isis said "why is she calling you, is she yelling?"
Her dad shook his head no and put Isis mom on the phone. she heard her mom say "Dan just keep Isis down there, I am tired of fighting with her. she is happier down there than she is here. She is depressed down here and hurts herself. Just let Isis live with you." Isis mom was crying on the phone.
Isis looked at the phone and her eyes widen. she put her hands over her mouth and gasp than she said " are you sure mom?"
Her mom heard her and said, " yes, I am sure. You are happier there, but keep your grades up and we will miss you."
Isis said " ok, i will i promise." A big smile broke out on her face. Than she heard her Older sister Addie saying "We love you, just be safe ok." Isis said "ok.' The phone call lasted 10 more mins after that.
Monday came around and Isis went to eat with family. Isis told everyone as they got into the room the news. Everyone cheered and hugged me and clapped saying that they are so glad that Isis was living here. Isis looked at them and said, " but I don't have clothes or anything her for school." All the adults said that they will help out with that. later after we ate they took me out shopping for clothes and school stuff, even Deedee helped.
