Unspeakable journey
The bus started with a jammed ignition getting the passengers from every halt. She was getting anxious for the lone traveller status herself. If you are a Bollywood fan then you would get the reference of Naina first travelling alone to Manali for the trip. You can compare Siya with Naina in that situation. Suddenly somebody caught her attention, he was medium built with reasonable height with good enough looks, however the point where she got intrigued as he was also an animal lover like her. She has two beautiful kids one boy and one girl. As a part of the adoption and rescue community, she was inclined more to animals than people. As the keen observer and an introvert she was a good listener and fantastic observer. She was observing every little thing of him. How gets happy if he gets good pet of those sweet little dogs and the dogs were also happy with those pets as they were all lingering around him. The whole journey started on the tinge of sadness because of lone wanderer. But she was motivated to get to know more about him. He alighted on one stop to get something and her heart was overwhelmed with pack of emotions as he went and fed the stray dogs. she thought she got the male version of her. The journey started and she almost drowned in him, not romantically but with hinge of some emotion. Once or twice she would sneak a peek of him to see what is he doing, how his expression changes when he caughts her looking at him. Siya thought he must think I am a stalker or a pervert, although she was unable to explain the unspeakable feeling of comfort she was getting just by looking at him.
No need to talk to each other just assuring he is there. It is the most serene feeling in the world. After our parents that feeling of safety comes from a handful of people like your best friend, your life partner but am unknown who doesn't know about you or reciprocate your feelings are a bit fluttering and unknown till now. Siya was enjoying her part of the journey, reading a novel, and listening to old Hindi songs.
Siya was never adventurous, she was a meticulous planner down to the last bit. She had ADHD so some of her habits would resemble OCD. She was a polyglot so no need to have any conversation for passing the time. As a fellow geek and nerd I can sympathise with Siya, we are the weirdos of the weird group
We are empathic and we absorb emotions of our close ones and also the most vulnerable species on the earth, but we are very keen to not to show anyone that side of ourselves and if you get to see that side then you are the most important person in their life. So you should feel honoured.
Siya was also a caffeine aficionado and a voracious reader.
So back to Siya's view on her mysterious stranger. She was observing him closely, how he was enjoying listening to music. Sometimes she even got the hint that he came to know she was observing her. So he started reciprocating. He was noticing her movements, her simple giggles too as Siya thought.
This was just a mere happy thought of Siya ,as she wanted him to get to notice her but without taking any initiative. She was never good in starting the conversation with anyone let alone a stranger. It was something that she was getting drawn to that mysterious stranger even if the end of her story would not be like she wanted.
She was getting acclimatised to the journey, the noises of some grandpa watching reels on speaker, teenage girls giggling as they were talking about some of their crushes.
