An answer to an equation can change with just one variable. Blake had always known that, and used such things in his favor. The results were always unexpected… but at least he was prepared for it.
Not this one.
“Good morning gentlemen…” There was someone at the door. A woman he should have known if he looked into the detective’s findings more. But he didn’t. Perhaps he had gotten too cocky or relaxed. Perhaps he had trusted that things would have went well with his agreement with Alice. The woman eyed them dubiously, “Hmm, Lizzie didn’t say anything about guests, wrong house perhaps?” she asked with a small smile.
He could say no, but that would complicate things further. The two women might tell the truth of his identity right after he told his lies. Thus, there was only one solution.
