She was pulled into a tight corner.
“I wouldn’t mind filing a leave to stay at home...with my mother?” Alice glanced at the window. She wasn’t one to leave her work to pile up, but desperate times calls for desperate measures. She tried not to throw daggers at Daniel’s direction. Why would they want to stay with her mother if not to reveal the truth between her relationship with Blake?
“Alice?” her mother was staring at her, “You don’t have to do that you know?”
“It’s only on occasion that my mother visits me… so what’s one leave?” she shrugged. She walked towards the kitchen, “Well, I’ll start making my breakfast, I guess. Any requests?”
