Prologue:
As the birds chirp outside, and feel the sunlight hitting my face, I open my eyes to see my boyfriend Cole staring at me. "Good morning princess-" Then I cut him off by throwing a pillow at his face. "Oh dear Cole, have you forgotten I'm not a morning person! So now you shall be punished!" As I laugh and throw pillows at him, he swings them right back and we just start to hit each other relentlessly. After a few minutes of feathers blowing everywhere, he grabs me from behind and hugs me. "Fine you win! However, as long as I can keep holding you like this then it's fine by me, even if you win everyday." As he kisses my shoulder, he slowly heads towards my neck and intertwined his fingers with mine. "Mmm...Cole?" I suddenly start to smell something burning in the kitchen. "Yes princess, don't get nervous and back out now, it's my turn to get you back for that pillow fight." He said while kissing me on my neck. "Cole...are you cooking?" I ask while smirking. He always forgets how long to cook eggs for and always gets side tracked. "Oh no, not again!" Suddenly he gets up and runs into the kitchen. As I laugh, I get up and start to get the shower ready. Cole and I have been living together for 3 years and have been together for 8 years. As I shower, I can hear him shuffling through and kitchen trying to get rid of the smoke. Now don't get the wrong idea, even though he is clumsy with cooking it doesn't mean that he's like that all the time. Cole runs a multi-billion dollar company, and he became a billionaire at the age of 23. I was here before all of that of course, and I've always told him I didn't care about the money. However Cole has always tried to go above and beyond for me. As I step out of the shower and put my clothes on, I walk in the kitchen to see perfectly cooked pancakes, bacon, and cinnamon rolls. Then I glance over at the burnt eggs on a plate in the corner. "See breakfast! Surprise princess, it's okay come and sit down." As he pulls the chair out for me, I start to smirk and laugh a little. "Where are they?" I ask while raising my eyebrows. "I have no idea what you're talking about." As he tried to stand in front of the eggs, and I point over towards him. "The eggs you've so graciously burned behind you." Then he quickly throws them into the garbage and I laugh some more. "Nothing gets past you does it?" He says while smirking at me. "Nope, that's why you love me." Then I give him at kiss, and I sit at the table. As I eat my food, his phone starts to ring, and I realize it's Alice. "Yes Alice. Well tell them I'm on my way now, and no one starts that meeting until I arrive." Then, as he gets off of the phone, he puts on his blue suit and black tie. Every time he gets dressed I get reminded of why I am so lucky to have him to myself. I mean seriously the man is ripped, and his dark brown hair and his tattoos on him arms and chest. It just makes me melt all over, and then he turns around to kiss me on the head. "Alright babe, I have to go to work. I will call you on my lunch break." Before I could say anything Alice calls again, and then he rushes out the door. Then I get ready to head out with the girls, and then my best friend Kaitlyn calls. "Hey Alessandria, so are we still on to get coffee?" She asks. "Yup. I'm on my way now, Cole just left for work, so I'm about to head to the coffee shop." Then as I sigh, and grab my keys to lock the house up. "Alright well I'll see you there! Don't be late!" As the phone hangs up, I start to head towards the coffee shop. When I arrive, I see her flirting with a random guy again, and then she gets his number and runs towards me. "Alessandria, you made it! Perfect so I've got our table over here." Then as we sit down, I can't help but looking out the window, while sighing once again. "Hey, what's wrong, you seem down today. Wait don't tell me, this is about Cole again isn't it?" She says while putting her hand on top of mine. "It's not his fault okay, he has a business to run, I can't complain." Then as the waitress brings us our coffee that she ordered, I take a sip while stirring the coffee with my straw. "Yes you can! Why don't you just tell him you aren't comfortable the way that Alice calls all the time. It's like she does it on purpose and you know it!" She exclaims while sipping her coffee. I mean she's not wrong, but she's his secretary and I know Cole would never do anything behind my back. "It's fine, Cole wouldn't do anything like that to me anyways. Now let's talk about you and that problem of yours." She starts to laugh and moves the paper with his phone number on it throughout her fingers. "Oh whatever, you have a hot billionaire boyfriend, while I'm single and bored. I wanna have some fun too girl." Then I get a text from Cole's mother to meet her at their family home. "I gotta go, I have to meet Cole's mom. I'll call you later." "No way! That woman is a snake. I hate her and even she makes my blood boil. She is such a spoiled little rich kid." Then I start to laugh and grab my stuff. "She isn't that bad Kaitlyn, although I still wonder how Cole was born from that. I have to respect her out of my love for Cole. I will see you later." As I head out of the coffee shop and sit in my car, I can't help but feel sick. Kaitlyn wasn't wrong, his mother was awful, I mean I don't like to judge but she has hated me ever since she met me. However, I know I have to go, and I start my car to head to her house. As I pull up to her house, the butler lets me in and takes my jacket. As I walk into the poorly lit living room I see his mom standing by the fireplace. God it looks like a horror movie. "So you're here? I didn't think you'd actually have the guts to come." She says while only slightly glancing over towards me. "You did call me Klarissa, why else would I be here without Cole. It's not like I'm welcome here without him." I say while glaring at her. "So you're still wasting my son's time." She snaps back at me. "Look it's been years. Cole and I love each other, and we might get married soon." Then suddenly she glares at me, and turns towards me and gets closer. "Truly you are even slower than you look. You are from a lower class than we are, and we are a high class family. If you truly loved my son, you would leave him, and let him marry someone of our status." Every word she says pisses me off. Cole never knew about the way his mom truly felt about me, and I never told him either. I just didn't want him to disappoint him, and worry him with his business. "Listen to me, Cole is infatuated with you however, he will never be able to come into this society as he wants until you've left him alone. Why do you think he hasn't married you? It's because I forbade it, and if I need to I will terminate this relationship the hard way." She suddenly picks up her phone and pulls up Cole's contact. "Either you can do it or I will." Then I glare at her, and I step up to her face. "Never. I am going to go see Cole right now and bring him lunch." Then I turn to leave and I hear her dial the phone to him, as I shut the door and leave. He'd never believe anything that she'd say right. It's not like he would just leave me. I think it's time to tell him the truth right now. As I head to his office and head up the elevator, I see can hear him on the phone with someone. "That's it Cole, I gave you three years just like you asked, but now that time is up. It's time to uphold your duty and find someone of your class to have children and succeed the line." His mother yells on speaker as he sits at his desk. "I'm aware mother it's time, and I will break things off with her as promised tonight when I get off." Suddenly everything else that he said drifts off where I can only hear my heart dropping. Suddenly I dropped his lunch out of my hands outside the door and a tear drops out of my eye. Then before I could run away, he opens the door and we just stare at each other. "Alessandr-" Before he could break my heart even further, I ran off and the tears kept flowing down my cheeks. As I am rushing to my car he keeps chasing me and shouting my name. Finally, as I open my car door he slams it shut, and he turns me around to face him. "I can expla-" Suddenly I slap him, and I glare at him while pounding on his chest. "Explain what huh? I thought you didn't know about my true relationship with your mother. I kept it from you because I didn't want to worry you and I wanted to keep us together! However you're making plans to just break up with me just like that! I'm done let go of me." "You don't understand, it's not like I want to do this. It's just I want to make you and my mother happy, but you know my dream was to take over my father's business. Please try to understand, I never wanted to hurt you. However all I was going to do was get married and have a child, then I could come back to you. Just wait for me Alessandria." Then I shove him away and open up my car door. "Stay away from me! You've been stringing me along and you never loved me. If you did you wouldn't care, you're the ceo of your father's business, your mother couldn't take that from you even if she wanted to! Goodbye." Then I quickly get into my car and speed off and go back to the house to pack my things. As I arrive back to the house I throw all of our pictures together on the floor and watching the glass break with each one. Then I pack everything up and take a look back at the house and a tear falls from my eye one last time. This will be the last time I ever step foot into this house again. I'll never have breakfast with burnt eggs, and days filled with pillow fights anymore. The nights filled with passionate love making. I guess his mother was right, we were just too different and it would never work. I suppose I will go back to Kaitlyn's house for the night and start my new life.
