The Hidden Bloodline
Chapter 1 — Kimberly grew up believing she was an ordinary girl. She lived in the human world with her parents, Ella and Steve, and her younger brother, Randy. She didn’t know another world existed — one filled with werewolves, vampires, fairies, and creatures born from old legends. From the moment she was born, her parents bound her powers to keep her safe. There was a prophecy — that a she-wolf would rise after a hundred years, more powerful than any Alpha before her. She would become the Luna of Legends, able to command both light and shadow. And Kimberly was that child. The evil Alpha Calvin had been hunting her since birth. He feared the day she would come of age — when her powers would awaken under the first full moon of her eighteenth birthday. On that night, even the spellbinding bracelet on her wrist would shatter, unable to contain her strength. That afternoon, Kimberly stopped by her parents’ shop after school. It was open, but eerily silent. The lights flickered. The shelves stood empty. “Mom? Dad?” she called, searching every corner. No answer. Thinking they might have rushed to pick up Randy from school, she waited. Hours passed. When the clock struck seven, she locked the door and walked home, The cool evening air pressing against her skin. “Kim!” Randy ran to her as she entered. “They didn’t pick me up today. I had to walk home.” Her stomach tightened. “They didn’t? I thought they would go to your school.” The two stared at each other, fear crawling up their spines. “Let’s go to the police,” Randy said. They filed a report, but the officer only shook his head. “We can’t mark them missing until twenty-four hours pass.” At home, Kimberly made dinner though she had no appetite. Her mother had taught her how to cook, clean, and survive — just in case. That night, she barely slept. A cold wind brushed against the window, whispering her name. Far away, in the Blood Moon Pack’s dungeon, Alpha Calvin towered over Ella and Steve, who were chained to the wall. “Where is she?” he growled. “Tell me where you’ve hidden the Alpha King’s daughter before she turns eighteen!” Ella lifted her head, bruised but unbroken. “I would rather die than betray her.” Calvin’s eyes glowed crimson. Then die knowing she wasn’t even yours. Her true father—your precious Alpha King—abandoned her before she was born. His power flows in her veins, along with her grandmother’s magic. When I find her, I will take it all! He struck Ella again, his laughter echoing through the dungeon. The next morning, Kimberly took Randy to school. She hadn’t eaten, her mind clouded with worry. After class, they returned to the shop, hoping for clues. As they searched, Randy gasped. “Kim, look! A letter!” It was their mother’s handwriting. Kimberly opened it with trembling hands. My dear children, If you’re reading this, we are gone. Do not come looking for us. Do not speak to the police. Leave the city before two weeks pass, or you will be found. Everything you need — money, documents, protection — is hidden beneath the floorboards. Take it and run. And Kimberly… when the full moon rises on your eighteenth birthday, your destiny will find you. Kimberly’s heart pounded. She grabbed Randy’s hand. “We’re leaving. Tonight.” As they ran through the darkened streets, the moonlight followed her — faintly glowing against the bracelet on her wrist. A spark of power stirred beneath her skin. And somewhere far away, Alpha Calvin felt it. “She’s awakening,” he whispered, smiling wickedly. “The hunt begins.” — The Call of the Moon The road stretched endlessly before them, a ribbon of silver beneath the night sky. Kimberly’s hands trembled on the steering wheel as she drove away from the only home she had ever known. Randy sat beside her, silent, clutching the backpack that carried the letter, the money, and a small locket their mother had left behind. “Kim… do you think Mom and Dad are still alive?” he whispered. Her throat tightened. “They have to be. We’ll find them, I promise.” But deep down, fear clawed at her heart. Every instinct told her something dark was closing in. They drove for hours until the city lights vanished behind the hills. The forest loomed ahead — thick, shadowed, alive. When she stopped to rest, the bracelet on her wrist pulsed faintly, glowing like molten silver. “What’s happening?” she murmured, staring at it. A sharp pain shot through her chest, stealing her breath. She fell to her knees, gasping, her pulse syncing with the rhythm of the moon overhead. The air shimmered — and for a moment, she heard it. A howl. Low, haunting, and ancient. “Kim!” Randy shouted, kneeling beside her. “Are you okay?” She nodded weakly, forcing a smile. “I’m fine. Just tired.” But she wasn’t. Something inside her was awakening — something wild and untamed. They found a small roadside inn and checked into a room. As Randy fell asleep, Kimberly sat by the window, the full moon hanging high above. Her reflection in the glass flickered — her eyes flashed gold for a heartbeat, then returned to brown. She pressed her hand into her chest. What are you becoming? Far away, in the Blood Moon Pack’s stronghold, Alpha Calvin stood before a burning sigil, his eyes closed as his witch, Morgana, whispered incantations. “She’s moving,” Morgana said, her voice like smoke. “Her power stirs. The binding spell weakens. By the next moonrise, she will be visible to our trackers.” Calvin’s lips curled into a cruel smile. “Good. Let her run. The hunt will make the kill sweeter.” Morgana’s black eyes glimmered. And what of the prophecy? You know what it says — that if she bonds with her destined mate before her eighteenth moon, Your death will come by her hand. Calvin’s jaw clenched. “Then I’ll make sure she never finds him.” The fire flared higher, casting his shadow across the stone walls — the mark of a man who feared only one thing: destiny. Back in the motel, Kimberly awoke from a nightmare, drenched in sweat. The sound of the howl echoed again, this time closer. She stepped outside, her bare feet brushing the damp grass. The forest whispered her name. “Kimberly…” She spun around — no one was there. But in the distance, two golden eyes glowed between the trees. The air shimmered with unseen power. Her heart pounded, the bracelet on her wrist heating until it burned. She ripped it off with a cry, and the metal shattered, scattering sparks into the air. The glow spread across her skin — veins of silver light, her breath sharp and ragged. Then she heard a deep, commanding voice from the shadows. “You shouldn’t have taken that off.” A tall figure stepped from the trees. His eyes burned like amber flame, his aura powerful, dangerous, and strangely familiar. Kimberly froze, every instinct screaming to run — but something in his gaze rooted her in place. “Who are you?” she whispered. “Your protector,” he said softly, stepping closer. “And the one your enemies fear most.” The moonlight caught his face — strong jaw, tousled dark hair, and a mark glowing faintly on his neck. “My name is Aiden, Alpha of the Silver Fang Pack.” Her pulse raced. She didn’t know why, but her wolf stirred at the sound of his voice. And far away, Calvin felt it — the moment her power connected to her destined mate. He slammed his fist into the wall, fury shaking the room. “No!” he roared. “She’s found him!” The hunt had begun. — The Protector’s Oath Kimberly woke to the scent of pine and smoke. Her body ached, her head spun, and the last thing she remembered was the forest glowing around her—the pain, The bracelet breaking, the stranger with golden eyes. Now she lay in a wooden cabin, soft light filtering through the curtains. A fire crackled nearby. When she tried to sit up, a deep voice stopped her. “Easy, Luna. You fainted from the energy surge.” She turned sharply. Aiden stood by the doorway, arms crossed, eyes glinting like molten amber. His presence filled the room—powerful, calm, dangerous. “Don’t call me that,” she said weakly. “And who even are you? What is happening to me?” Where is my brother? He stepped closer, his tone steady but kind. Your brother is safe with us. You’ve known it all along, haven’t you? The dreams, the pull of the moon, the strength you could never explain. Kimberly looked away, hugging her arms around herself. “I just want my parents back.” Aiden’s expression softened. I know. And I’ll help you find them. But first, you need to understand who you are. “You also need to go look for your brother before we send him away,” Aiden said, his tone serious. He’s not safe in this world. He’s human—too weak to fight. I’ve arranged a safe house with a couple I trust. They’ll take good care of him. Kimberly nodded, determination flashing in her eyes. “Okay… take me to him.” Aiden led the way through the cabin, his movements quiet and purposeful. When they reached the door, he stopped and gestured toward it. “You go in first. I’ll wait outside.” Taking a deep breath, Kimberly opened the door. Inside, Randy sat at a desk, absorbed in a video game, completely unaware of the dangers surrounding him. Relief washed over her, and she hurried forward, dropping to her knees beside him. “Randy!” she said softly, wrapping her arms around him. He looked up, startled at first, then smiled when he realized it was her. “Kim! Where have you been?” She held him a moment longer, letting the comfort of his presence ground her. “I’ve been… busy. But I needed to see you. I wanted to make sure you’re safe.” Randy frowned. “Safe? What’s happening, Kim?” Kimberly took a deep breath, choosing her words carefully. I’m going to find Mom and Dad. Once I do… I’ll come back for you. But right now, it’s too dangerous for you to stay here. That’s why I arranged a place where you’ll be protected. Randy hesitated, then nodded. “Okay… I trust you, Kim.” She smiled, kissing the top of his head. “Good. This isn’t goodbye forever. Just… for now.” They held each other a moment longer before Kimberly stood, her heart heavy. She opened the door and glanced back once more. “I’ll be back soon, Randy. I promise.” With that, Aiden motioned for her to follow him outside. Kimberly followed Aiden outside, still thinking of Randy and the danger that loomed. The valley before her buzzed with movement—the Silver Fang Pack preparing for whatever came next. Warriors moved between tents and training grounds, their golden eyes flashing in the morning light. “This is the Silver Fang Pack,” he said. We’ve watched over you since birth. The night you were born, the moon turned blood-red—a sign that the lost Luna had returned. Your parents hid you in the human world and sealed your powers with that bracelet. They did it to protect you from Alpha Calvin—and even from your father, who had gone into hiding. Kimberly’s chest tightened. You’re saying.... my father was —? “The Alpha King,” Aiden finished quietly. Leader of
