I held her hand tightly as if my life depended on it as we walked into the mansion’s living room. My father had called us in, and I anxiously awaited what he might say about Ruby.
Was he going to reveal in front of her that I was destined to die? Or was he going to stop me from being with her?
All those thoughts ran through my mind as we entered the royal mansion. I didn’t notice when my hands started shaking until I felt Ruby rubbing my hand gently.
‘’Are you alright?’’she asked.
I forced a smile on my face without looking at her because I knew deep down that I was scared of what could happen to the both of us. I didn’t want to part ways with her, and I wondered what losing her would do to me.
‘’ what is going on in your mind right now?’’ she asked.
