Chapter 32“Sara, I have something for you!” Kini almost pounced as Sara entered. Then she saw Hachi holding the door open for Michelle and Noelani. “And you have someone for me?” Her eyes got really big. She looked tall Hachi up and down with a hopeful smile. Sara was glad he took care of his clothes. No one would believe he lived in a homeless camp if judged by what he wore. That pants and shirt may, however, be the only decent clothes he had.
Noelani went to drop her tote bag onto the coffee table and saw Punk. “Oh look, Dad. A puppy!”
Before Noelani could move swiftly toward the dog, Kini retracted his lease. “No, no! Not a puppy. You don't come fast to this one.” She again signaled Punk to sit beside where she stood.
“You know better, Noe.” Hachi scolded but in a loving manner.
