Sara keyed fast, logging all they were learning, hoping a later reading might disclose something, anything, that would give them a clue to Emma's whereabouts. “Did she visit anyone?”
“She came back once, after the police finished with the place. Saw her from the window.” Juliet pointed toward the street. “Saw her when she was loading up suitcases and a bunch of boxes. That's the last anyone's seen of her. Didn't even come to say goodbye to us. The assistant manager took over till the fire gutted the place.”
