Chapter 2 -Ash's pov

684 Words
It is late afternoon, hot sun reflecting off of my midnight fur. As the alpha of the Two Shadow Wolves clan, I stride ahead of my pack, running alongside Alpha of the Mud Claw Clan, who is also my closet ally. The Earth almost rumbles with every step that we take, as if every wolf here is on the same beat. I push on further ahead of my pack and the others. As if we are in some unspoken race, my wolf won't let me be the last to reach Rainy lake. I reach the treeline and see into the clearing. The biggest 'cabin' I've seen sits right along the lake. The most important of the Selenite Sanctum clan lives there, there are many other buildings around, probably housing for lower downs and maybe a physicians office. I stop dead in my tracks as I clear the last of the trees, for a moment it's just me and Rollo. In wolves mind a moment can last a lifetime.Letting everyone else run ahead as I take in the scenery, feeling the atmosphere around us. "peace" Rollo whispers. In the cabin Manor I shower quickly, my pack as well as others had just ran hundreds of miles to be here, many of the females, elders and children of the clans had came by car or train. Us men decided to take the long run. An intense sensation of want filling my body. I do not know what for I just know that I have to be ready. I throw on my tux in the dashingly matter, and leave my room. The big open great hall was brightly lit with hanging lanterns and a candle set at every table. I see many familiar faces, one of my best friends and childhood crush Liv, with her family. My beta Gunner, and other gammas of our pack. The Luna Margo of the Selenite Sanctum clan climbing the elegantly embroidered stairs. I can instinctively pick out the alphas of the packs amongst the crowds. Jax of the Mud Claw Clan, Nathan of the Night Bane clan, Elias of the Elder Grey, and Kai, of the Albino Descent. All mingling together as if everything was fine, as if the Albino Descent hasn't been trying for years to break our truce, and take ultimate power over the 6 deadly werewolf clans. Over the last 16 years we have been at peace with outside threats, but one threat lingers within us, the Albino Descent Clan, who craves power, wealth and fame over the wellness of their people, the wellness of all our people. I've had a deep hate for Kai ever since I could remember, the first time I met him was back home in Nevada where my clan lives. His father, the previous alpha, brought him, just a pup as I was to meet my Clan. We were nine years old, my best friend Liv had been excited to meet another clan, since it had been years since anyone visited. I don't remember much of his father other than a revolting scent that I still remember to this day, as it lingers on Kai. Even at the age of nine Kai was a repulsive person. Crude and malicious there he was at that point in time standing taller than me, and everyone else our age in the pack, towering down on us everyone shying away from him, but I never did I will never bow down to a cruel coward. Liv didn't feel how harsh the vibe was, she ran up to him introducing herself with her sweet smile, cute little dimples placing themselves above those shinny teeth, in an instant he's slapped her down, told her never to disrespect him again in front of his clan. I was the only one to defend her, not only did I kick his ass but I humiliated him in front of his father, who's never let him let It go. That's how the feud between me and Kai got started, but the feud between the Albino Descent and the rest of us started decades ago.
