Chapter1
"Aya, my stepsister, entered the house. Her mother and my father are married. I am Anah, a werewolf, and when I turn 17, I will shift into a she-wolf, but I am only 16 now. By the way, my father is the beta, so he has a duty to serve the alpha.
I was surprised to hear Aya shouting, thinking something was wrong.
"Mom! I need to go shopping! The alpha's son from America is coming home tomorrow. I need new clothes!" Aya shouted. Then she looked at me and gave me a fake smile. "Come with me, Anah."
"Oh, not now! I need to cook," I said.
"Is that for the almost starving omega kids again?"
I just nodded. She rolled her eyes at me and went upstairs.
She only wants me to go with her because my father is rich, and her mother is a gold digger, right? Well, my father is already married to Aya's mother, so I can't do anything about it.
I just cooked in the kitchen to feed the omega kids.
While cooking, Aya came in, cut and ate the cake I baked.
I frowned.
"Not bad," she said, winking at me, and then left the house.
She's really flirtatious.
By the way, Aya is also 16, the same as me, so when we turn 17, we will shift at the same time, and we have the same birthday.
After finishing cooking, my stepmother helped me lay out the food in the park.
The orphan kids and omega children approached to eat.
By the way, Aya's mother's name is Namy, but I call her Namy.
Namy is kind, but we're not that close, so she tries to get close to me, but I still keep my distance. The truth is, Namy is also special to me, but when my mother died, within a week, my father replaced her with Namy as Aya's mother.
It's not that I'm angry, but I feel like my mom was not valued by my father.
While I was eating with the kids, some of our packmates passed by and greeted us, including Namy.
Namy was all smiles while I was frowning.
I don't know, I'm just not very fond of my packmates.
By the way, our pack is called the Sirenmoon pack.
According to the elders, our pack used to be a lake, and it is said that the first alpha made an agreement with a mermaid to protect the pack until the lake turned into land, becoming the Sirenmoon pack.
Well, that's just hearsay; I don't really believe it.
That night, I had a movie marathon with Namy. My father, along with the alpha, had a meeting with the Gamma and Kappa for the upcoming arrival of the alpha's son.
By the way, the reason I'm introverted is because I'm overweight and not conventionally beautiful. Well, I am beautiful. I have fox eyes, a pointed nose, heart-shaped lips, fair skin, dark and long hair that I always tie up, and green eyes. I look a lot like my mother when she was alive, but slim and sexy, while I was captivated by cooking and gained weight.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Aya walked in. Laura and Sanya said goodbye to her. They're known as the sluts in the packs, pack sluts. Their names sound innocent, but I guess they were making fun of me earlier.
"Oh, you're back. What time is it? It's already early morning," Namy said to Aya.
"Mom, I bought a branded dress. I need to look pretty. The alpha's son is coming. Guess what, no one knows his name yet. Many beauties want to date him," Aya said.
"Maybe there are many sluts who want to date him," I said.
"You're overacting! You know, Anah, you're ugly, so no one will like you," Aya said.
I bit my lip.
"Aya! Why are you saying that to Anah? You're going too far, you're still a child! Do you want me to burn what you bought?" Namy said.
"Okay fine! Sorry, Anah," Aya said and went upstairs.
"Sorry about Aya, she's just too extravagant," Namy said.
I just nodded and continued watching until it was six in the morning, then I felt sleepy and went to bed.
When I woke up, the sun was shining brightly, so I took a shower and got dressed. Then there was a knock on the door, so I opened it. It was an omega child.
"Your father is calling for you."
"Why?" I asked, looking outside the house.
I was surprised because there weren't many people around. All the houses and the park visible were empty.
"Everyone in the pack went to the alpha's mansion to celebrate, that's why there's no one in the pack, but there are packguards at the border watching, so it's safe."
I nodded and went out of the house. I followed the child, and we headed to the mansion.
Even though I feed the kids in the park, I don't know their names.
When we arrived at the mansion, there were so many people. I looked for my father, but there were too many people. The child bid me goodbye, and I nodded, so he left.
I walked around and reached the dance floor, but I didn't approach the dancers.
The music stopped, and there was a man whom I had never seen before. My heart suddenly raced.
I held my chest. It's been a long time since I felt this way.
It reminded me of the time when I was a child at the pack clinic. But why did that feeling come back to me?
I touched my head, and I saw a blurred face. I knew I had memories of it when I was a child. I saw a blurry image of two boys, but I couldn't remember those memories.
"Hello everyone, I'm Freen Ron, the son of Alpha Riss Ron."
My father saw me in a state where I was about to faint, so he quickly approached me and took me to sit with Namy and Aya. Namy gave me the medicine I always take when I wake up in the morning.
I calmed down and breathed a sigh of relief.
"What happened to her? Didn't she take her medicine when she woke up this morning?" Aya asked.
"I woke up and didn't see Namy, and the child suddenly called me to the mansion."
"Sorry, Anah, I left your medicine on the side table... Are you okay now?" Namy said.
I nodded.
My father then sat down, and Freen approached us.
"Good day, beta," he said to my father.
My father nodded and introduced us, so we shook hands.
"This is my wife, Namy," my father said, and Freen shook hands with Namy.
"And my lovely daughter, Anah," he looked at me, and I
"When I looked at Freen, I saw what seemed to be pity in his eyes.
Is he pitying me? Do I look pitiful? He looked at me with such intensity.
"And this is my wife's daughter, Aya," he shook hands with Aya, and Aya beamed with joy.
"I'm Aya, you know I'm kind and loyal but I'm single."
I grimaced at Aya's words.
So flirtatious.
I took a sip of water but almost choked when Freen spoke.
"Can I have this dance with you, Anah?"
When I looked at him, I saw that same pitiful look, so I faced him, feeling irritated.
"Can you stop looking at me like that? Do I look pitiful to you? Yes, I'm overweight, but I don't think I'm pitiful, right?" I said.
"I didn't mean-"
"Stop!" I said.
"Anah?" My father called out to me.
"Can you stop, Anah?" Aya said as Namy nudged her.
"I'll go ahead, father..." I said and walked away.
They called my name, but I didn't look back.
I walked away.
He invited me to dance, but he seemed to pity me. I understood. Since my father is the beta, all the packmates treat me nicely, even though they mock me behind my back. I understand that look. Even Freen?
As I walked, I suddenly tripped, and I heard laughter.
I looked at the person laughing, and he was unfamiliar.
I quickly stood up.
"Okay, that was fun... What is your name?"
"Who are you? Annoying," I said as I walked away.
"Okay fine... I'm sorry. By the way, I'm Fior... I'm Freen's cousin... And you?"
"I didn't hear anything," I said and continued walking.
"You're so rude. Do you know I'm Alpha Riss's nephew?"
"I don't care, Fior."
"What? Unfair, you know my name but you won't give yours."
"Anah!" Aya shouted and approached me.
"You're Anah? The beta's daughter?"
"How do you know me?" I asked.
"Oh no... I just heard about you."
I rolled my eyes at Fior.
"Where are you going? Father is calling you back to the mansion," Aya shouted.
"So?" I said.
I glared at Aya and went inside the house to watch TV.
Sometimes I think about going on a diet, but I decided not to for now, and besides, I'm not as flirtatious as Aya to bother with looking pretty.
Someone texted me, so I checked it, and it was my long-time best friend from the Eyemoon pack... Iyah, my best friend."
