Chapter 8: I'm Sick of You

668 Words
James took Olivia to dinner, and since it was getting late, he took Olivia back to his house so she could rest for tomorrow. In the days to come, Olivia's heart ached when she thought about this night, and if it hadn't been for her hesitation, then none of what followed would have happened. James opened the door, and Olivia's face went white when she saw the person standing in the foyer. Liam just stood there, towering over Olivia as if looking at prey sent into a tiger's den. James saw him and shielded Olivia in a flash, "Liam, what are you doing in my house." "Your house? Oh yes, I came to your house to get my wife back." James pointed at Liam and snapped, word for word, "How do you have the face to say the word wife? Can you stand up to Olivia? Do you love her? You're just using her!" Being told so clearly and plainly by James, Olivia just felt ridiculous. Why, she'd been blinded by the little bit of love Liam had pretended to show. "It's not your place to comment on whether I love her or not, but if you don't let me take her, James, believe me, the price will be one that you will never be able to afford, no, your family will not be able to afford." Olivia couldn't just hide behind James anymore as she listened to Liam's word-for-word threats against him. She couldn't hold James back any longer; she had to go away, far away. However, she had only just turned around when several black-clothed bodyguards emerged from the doorway and surrounded her. "Olivia!" James turned around too late and was kicked to the floor by Liam, his back pressed against Liam's foot and forced into submission. "James!" Olivia's hatred for Liam grows a little more when she sees James like this: "Liam, stop; I'll go with you; don't make it hard for him." Liam clenched his fists at his sides at her words, unclenched his feet, and called for Olivia to be taken away. Olivia was forced into the car by the bodyguard, and the moment the door closed, she seemed to hear James saying that he wanted her to wait for him to save her. Olivia shook her head; there was no one who could save her; this road was a road to hell; this was her life. Liam brought Olivia back to the cottage, and the house was no longer cozy, filled only with lies and cold. Olivia didn't say a word, sitting on the couch with her eyes closed. James poured Olivia a glass of milk for her to drink; Olivia glanced at it and sneered, "Is this drugged with sleeping pills? Is it possible that when I drink it and when I wake up, my child's umbilical cord blood will be taken by you to cure that woman's child?" Mostly due to Olivia's cynical tone and the night's tossing and turning, Liam's face darkened to the point where he kicked the coffee table, knocking over the glass of milk. "Olivia, how long are you going to keep this up!" "Olivia, let's say I'm begging you, once I get the cord blood, I'll have no more contact with Emma. I just want to save that baby, and from now on, we'll still be a happy family; you'll still be my wife, and we'll have lots of kids in the future, okay?" "No good, Liam, I'm sick!" Olivia couldn't listen anymore and hissed, "Liam, how can you have a wonderful life with you while you make me lose my baby? Don't you have nightmares? Aren't you scared!" Liam crouched down in front of Olivia as if to soothe her, his eyes looking sincere, "Olivia, the baby doesn't have to be lost, does it? I just need cord blood, ah." Olivia stood up, her eyes cold, as she looked at Liam. She said in a single word, "No, I don't believe you anymore, Liam."
