Chapter 7: Are you out of your mind?

627 Words
The woman froze for but a second as soon as she heard Olivia's words, tears immediately streaming down her face as she crawled closer, her hands gripping Olivia's legs tightly, her eyes full of pleading. "I beg you, please, even if it's my life, you can take it; just save my baby; he's only so young." Olivia sneered at the corner of her mouth; what about her? Was she going to be deprived of it all when her child didn't even get to see the world? "No, I'm not saving, Liam, I'm divorcing you." Olivia shook the woman's hand away, obviously not using much force, but the woman's head hit the ground as if she'd been pushed away violently. Liam saw the scene and rushed over to pick her up. "Emma, are you hurt." The pitying tone sounded pathetic and ridiculous to Olivia. Liam calmed Emma down and looked over at Olivia, the peace long gone from his eyes. Instead, they were extremely hostile. "Olivia, don't make me." Pushing him? He's always been the one pushing her, forcing her to retreat. "I'm telling you, Liam, I would never save that woman's child; her child, dead or alive, is none of my business! I ......" Before Olivia could finish her sentence, she was slapped hard across the face. "Olivia, take that back before I get mad." "I'm not wrong; the boy is going to die, and that's his life; why should my child take his place." "Olivia!" Liam was already on the verge of a full-blown rage, his brow furrowing hard as he reached out with a hand that looked like it was going to hit Olivia. "Liam, enough; look at this; this is Olivia, your wife." James probably understood something and stopped in front of Liam. "James, get out of my way." "Liam, this is something I can never pretend I didn't see. Do you realize what you're doing? Are you out of your mind!" James questioned sternly as he grabbed Liam by the collar of his shirt. Liam shook him off, his face hard, "I'm not crazy; I knew what I was doing from the beginning." He looked over James' shoulder straight at Olivia, "In the beginning, I was trying to save my baby." Olivia's heart literally broke into pieces when she heard that. She was such a fool, a complete fool, thinking she had given all her love, when it turned out that, in the beginning, Liam had used her. Ridiculous, just ridiculous. James froze when he heard that and, following that, wrestled with Liam. "You asshole." Spare a thought for James, who hadn't expected Liam to marry Olivia for that reason. Two people are practicing, fight, you do not let me, I do not let you. Soon, both of their faces are hanging in color. Suddenly, the sound of sirens came from the distance, getting closer and closer, and before long, a traffic cop came by. The traffic police took a look at the two men fighting and immediately came forward to separate them. "How dare you fight and brawl on the main street? All of you come with me to the station." James and Liam were both asked to go to the station, and Olivia was tempted to take the opportunity to leave, but the traffic cop had asked her to go along to give her a statement, so she had no choice but to follow. The statement was made, and Olivia immediately got up and headed for the door, but to her surprise, James was waiting outside the door, and he didn't say anything as he pulled her away. James's hand was dry and warm, clutching Olivia's palm firmly in his, giving Olivia a warmth she hadn't felt in a long time.
