Violet's POV
I saw some big feathers that he had and I wanted to make something really quick with the vines I saw earlier. I need something close to a bathing suit. I grab the feathers and start making a pattern using the larger feathers and vines. Jee catches on and ravishes through the pile of feathers and finds all the large feathers he saw. I was able to make a skirt with feathers. A few of them were so large that they could cover my whole thigh. The best part about this was the vines were so easy to weave between feathers. I must have done at least 300 feathers but it felt like I did less. After making the first layer, I start with the next and Jee takes it away from me.
"I saw how you did that. I can do the rest for you." he says proudly, and starts working on the next layer.
I show him how to braid the vines to add the other layers on and 5 layers later it's a thick skirt that I feel comfortable with. Even if I move a lot, I have enough layers to cover my lower area. I start doing the top part and he, of course, takes that and makes more layers for me. This guy is fast! How was he able to pick up all of this type of stuff just by watching me do it once? He would do extremely well in my world with those traits.
"That is great! I am so impressed with how this came out. Thank you for helping me." I said back to Jee and ran and gave him a huge bear hug.
Of course, my little raven blushes and gives me my new garments. I walked to the back of the house and changed out into those clothes. The clothes I wear stink but I had no choice but to wear them. I am glad I now have something else to wear and I know it's cute. Even in the modern world, something like this would be great for a costume. I walk out and look at Jee to see if he approves of my little quick apparel change. It looks like even birds can drop their beaks. Seeing his expression really boosts my ego and makes someone like me even blush.
"I guess it looks good then?" I asked him teasingly.
"Better than that, Violet, you look very beautiful! I am glad those are my feathers." he says back to me.
"Me too, but I was curious about something." I said to him.
"What makes you curious?" he asks.
"How come these are lighter and have more of a touch of gold in them?" I asked him.
"Oh it's because of my father. He's not a raven. He's a bit of an eagle and peacock. So some of my feathers are golden and lighter.
When I was young, I thought that my wings would stay lighter but my mother's roots took over after I hit primal age." He says back to me
"What's primal age?" I ask
"It's when you are old enough to find a female and mate. Though I am not as young, I have not yet mated with any females." he says back to me reassuringly.
"That's weird for someone like you to say that. Since females can have multiple mates, I was sure you would have already found someone by now since you are so handsome." I said back to him.
He blushes again, but I am right. Jee is extremely handsome and he has a noble aura that resonates around him.
"I would love to maybe see if one day you would consider someone like me to be your mate if that is what you choose. You don't have to make a decision now. I am a very patient raven, so I can wait. Don't feel forced to say yes and make a decision now." he says back to me concerned.
Oh, what should I do? In order to win in this world I will need help, but is it right for me to do this to someone even when I know I am temporarily going to be here? This being may not be from my world, but he is still someone who has feelings and deserves the truth. I must and can't get close to anyone here. I would never want to be the one to leave them when the time comes on their own if I chose multiple mates. I have to figure out a way to have them trust me without getting attached to me.
We walked back to the chief's circle and it was beautifully decorated with nature. Beautiful flowers and trails of coconuts line the whole center. Above are more flowers showered with canopies of different covered leaves and hanging fruits.
"Jee, how come the fruits are hanging like that?" I asked him.
"When we have new beasts join, partaking of the fruit is something we all do together to bring new beginnings as one. Here we all decide to bring in the new member as one of our family members. It's just a little tradition we have." he says to me, smiling
I saw a row of food on the tree trunk benches and realized they were all bugs. Eek! I will just need to get used to this since I did choose the Raven prince. I should have known better!
"Don't worry, I made sure to save some fish for you, since I knew you liked that more." he says back to me after watching my expression
"You're such a lifesaver Jee." I said back to him, smiling
"Thank you everyone for coming. We have Violet here who will be joining our tribe and we are truly happy that she has. She has already brought us new experiences that will help with food, gathering and light. Because of her, we can now illuminate the light for us females and we can now enjoy the nightlife. Everyone, please enjoy tonight and eat, dance and sing. Welcome to the Naanil Tribe, Violet." Jee's mom says
