Jee's POV
She was running and she looked cold. Females to me were needy, clingy and only some benefited the land. Most of them were spoiled rotten and made other men fight over them continuously. Good friends of mine die many times for females so I didn't bother for one until her. She was beautiful. A little pale-skinned curved body with dark hair flowing like the sea when she ran. She looked scared, lost and confused. And all I wanted to do was dominate her.
I didn't want her at first, but any female added to our tribe would help us. So I decided to wait to join in and go get the female. The wolf pack was following her so I assumed one of them would want her. Typical wolves always think about their lower areas. When they breed, they breed in teams. One birthing rite can have maybe up to 6-7 babies, but for us winged animals we get lucky with just one! That is why the 4-legged beasts rule this kingdom. They multiply 5x more than any other beasts here. I wonder if Violet and I had children, how they would look. How many would we have? How much would she want? Would she want any?
To my surprise, I saw that damn lone panther trailing her. What made someone like him want to pursue my Violet? My Violet! I like how that sounds. I want to dominate her, but for now I can't. He's going to be trouble in the future. I know him too well to let someone like her go. Did he know her before? Did she want him? Is that why she let him tail behind her? Maybe I should get rid of him? Violet and I were fated to be with each other. I was meant to turn back and get her and she came with me instead of staying with that damn panther.
I left with the fish to go find Violet. I am so glad she wasn't there to see Becks. If Becks met her she would have done everything in her power to make Violet miserable. And now that she knows how important of a person she is to me, there is no going back. I must find a way to protect Violet as much as possible.
I check in the gathering area to see if Violet is here and nothing. Maybe she is in our house? Our house? That sounds so nice. I never would have thought this day would come to share a house with someone. I know it was planned to happen, but not this soon. I want Violet to love me forever and to make me her first mate. I want to spend all my time with her now, since she is only mine. I will embrace this time with her so that she will be loved and maybe the goddess will bless us with a little one of our own. Children. Children would be something I would want to have with Violet. I never thought of having any children with Becks. Just thinking about it disgusts me.
"Boys, have you seen Violet?" I asked the Zander kids.
"Nope, we were here watching dad make little suns. Do you need us to help you look for her?" they asked me.
"No. She probably had to relieve herself. I'll see you guys later." I said to them and leave
The village is surrounded by little suns in coconuts. It's a beautiful scene to see all the females out instead of just the males wandering around at night. Daylight ends early around our area because we are in the high mountains on the shadow side. We right now are trying to hide from other powerful tribes until the rest of our citizens join us. Once the capital is more stable, I will take Violet there. We will be safe. She will be safe. That is all I care about.
I start to look around me and the more I feel a bit anxious and worry comes to me. Why am I worried? Is it or could it be something to do with Violet? I flew up to see if I could spot her in view. No matter where I look, the stream, even in the area of the tree-house, the common area, nothing. I can't find her. My heart starts to pound and I don't realize how much I start sweating. I am flying in the sky to try to find any type of familiar view of Violet. I flew to the tree house and saw some of the fish made. She was here. Maybe she wanted to relieve herself. I checked the bathroom area she created and no Violet. Checking the stream area, no Violet. Checked the fruit fields, no Violet! Where is Violet?
"Have you seen Violet?" I asked my mother, concerned
"No son. I saw her earlier when she was walking towards the feast." she says to me
"She went to the feast? When?" I asked nervously.
"In the beginning. I'm surprised she is not with you. What's wrong, son? Did something happen?" She asks me, worried
Did she hear our conversation? Did she hear anything? I wonder how long she saw Becks and I? I hope she didn't have any misunderstandings.
"I ran into Becks before I was supposed to meet up with Violet. I didn't see her there. She was arguing with Clarice over the fish I set aside for Violet. That's when we had a conversation and I tried to disconnect myself from Becks, but she was persistent. She had the nerve to try to say she wanted us both!" I said to my mother, upset.
"That child is a lot of work. I pray she will mature to become a decent female to benefit this tribe. I wonder what went wrong between you and her for you to give her up like that." she says to me concerned.
"I don't care about any of that now. What I'm most concerned about is where Violet is. I checked everywhere and I didn't see her." I said back to her, worried
What scares me the most is that she is not a winged beast. There are so many cliffs and ditches that drop far below and she wouldn't even be able to react to the fall before she drops. I need to find her. Hours later and we still couldn't find her. All of our best scouts track and see some footprints going out towards the field and disappearing from there. Where can a little beast like her go? Still nothing and now I am getting worried. I go straight to Becks. There is only one person here who would try to get rid of Violet and that's Becks. I stormed into her nest and broke down the back door. To my surprise, she isn't alone. Mother walks in behind me.
