Lisa smiled and offered the boy a piece of chopped up doughnut in the new tangy lemon flavour. The boy’s eyes lit up, and immediately, he shuffled away from the smeared glass to take the cake, which had been offered. His mother smiled gratefully and dug into her bag for her purse, fishing out a ten pound note. Lisa carefully counted the change back into her outstretched hand and snapped the till shut with a ping. It was Friday, and Lisa was barely able to hide her excitement, for this evening she was going to be singing again at Belles. Also, she had the weekend off, which meant she could spend a leisurely and indulgent two days at home
