"What do you mean, I am the reason why we are here?"
I started at him, my heart beating so fast that I was pretty sure it would jump out of my chest at any moment. My hands were clenching the sheets, that were thrown over my legs, to the point that my knuckles turned white.
I could see his back getting stiff as he took another drink from his glass. He took his time answering me, because I only got my answer in what felt like an eternity later, but probably was only a few minutes.
"We came here because you needed help. When they called me I knew that you won't be in good shape, because there is no way in hell that you would let them capture you if we're able to fight..."
He stopped for a moment and I'm pretty sure he was smiling, but it was hard to tell because he was still turned away
