Part 1 Lightning struck the ground causing the earth to shake and moments later thunder sounded. Behind the dark and clouded night sky the full moon shone as if the world below was not raging in chaos. A shrill scream of agony echoed throughout an empty room in the dark witch coven. A woman with drenched raven dark hair clutched the bed sheets as she used almost all her strength to push, wanting the new life to come out of her so she could determine its worth. A dark witch came into the room with a cloth to wipe the beading sweat on the woman's forehead. The woman's eyes flickered between black and red in the dim light, as her vampire side shown through the soaring waves of pain trying to take over. A second dark witch dressed in a black nurse uniform came into the room with curious eyes gazing at the scene. The rain was fierce as it beat on the windows and the wind shook the building making the vampire woman's cries muffled. "One last push," the raspy voice of the curious witch dressed in black said. "You think she will make it without passing out?" The young witch with the cloth spoke as she looked at the vampire whose apperance was ghostly, with her eyes sunken. Soon after she spoke the last scream exerting all of the energy from the vampire rang out, followed by the sound of a baby's wailing. "Esther, if I thought she were to pass out I wouldn't have told her to push. Don't be ridiculous, my child." She responded to the question with a patronizing tone. "I am sorry, Coven Mother." Esther put the cloth down, and walked over to the Coven Mother who was holding the child. Both the vampires and the Coven Mother looked down at the fragile baby with rage and disgust. "You have failed us, Veronica. This child is worthless. Nothing but a mere weak human. You knew by producing with a human you had a higher chance of conceiving, but you also knew that there was a fifty percent chance this child would be human. You sought shelter at my coven in order to gain strength to build your own vampire clan. In exchange you were to give me a vampire child as a sacrifice for the dark ritual. You are lucky I am feeling quite generous, though you have failed me. I will give you two options. I will warn you, be careful what you chose, for it will determine if you will be used as our sacrifice for our dark ritual. " The Coven Mother spoke harshly and each word dripped with contempt as she hissed each syllable. As the words came out of her mouth, the exhausted vampire held nothing but fear and denial in her lethargic eyes. "I understand, Coven Mother." Veronica said with a wavering voice. Grinning wickedly, the dark Coven Mother said, "You can keep the useless child and attempt to leave without the support of the dark coven, but we will find you and use you for our ritual... Or you can dispose of this child and I will give you another chance at finding a vampire infant for the dark ritual. " Part 2 The battle fields were covered in dark red blood as the rain poured from the night sky. Lightning struck giving light to the torn up bodies that were staggered amongst the warriors. As the Leston Clan of vampires engaged in the war against the Blood Moon Pack, the Alpha, Luke Pierce, transformed back to his human form and dropped to his knees in despair as he felt his soul being shattered. Noticing the link has been severed with their Luna, and seeing the Alpha on his knees, the pack members felt distraught and fear made its way into their hearts. They let out a forlornly howl towards the moon that was hidden behind the dark clouds, but continued to fight defensively as thunder raged on. The vampires grew cocky thinking the wolves were going to admit defeat seeing that they have killed the Luna of the pack, but the Alpha stood up as he clenched his chest with tears streaming down his determined eyes. Knowing he had to live for his 5 year old son gave him hope and the determination he needed to win this war. His Luna wouldn't forgive him if he left their son alone in this world. He shifted into a large dark grey wolf baring his teeth, with a ferocious growl he ran towards the leader of the clan. Consumed with emotional turmoil, he lunged himself towards the leader of the clan who stood over the lifeless body of the Luna with a wicked smile on his face. The red eyes of the vampire were wrinkled with confusion, for Leston, the clan leader, thought that by killing the Luna he would surely defeat the Alpha and his pack. A moment of confusion was all it took for Bruzer, Luke's wolf, to rip the vampires head off it's body. He transformed back into his human form, but left his claws elongated. He then buried his hand in the chest of the dead vampire as he clutched onto the heart that was still beating. Ripping it from Leston's chest, he held the heart in one hand and then bent down to pick up the decapitated head with the other. Seeing that the battle was now victorious for his pack, he let out a beastly howl to capture the attention of both the vampires and his pack of wolves. The authority in his howl captivated all those around him vampire and wolf alike. The red eyes of the vampires fell upon the head of Leston who was without a body. His head was held by his ginger hair and blood seeped down where his neck should be. His eyes were dull, but still capturing the moment of confusion before his death. In one motion, Luke squeezed the heart that was in his right hand causing it to burst like a water balloon. The blood of his enemy ran down his arm, but the heavy rain quickly washed it away. Luke dropped the head, and looked out upon the battle field. "I will show those of you who surrendered mercy, for those of you who didn't you will recieve death. Any vampire who steps foot on my territory without my permission will die immediately on sight. Let other vampire clans you encounter know this. Go now before I change my mind." Luke's voice bellowed out reaching the sensitive ears of all the vampires and wolves on the battle field. Without hesitation the vampires rapidly retreated from the battle field, accepting defeat and knowing that they will have to find new clans to join. The caualities of this battle were great on both sides, and the wounded were immediately being carried off the battlefield by the remaining warriors left standing. Randall, Luke's Beta, took charge of directing the warriors to be triaged and setting up post war support to get everyone home dead or alive. In the distance Alpha Luke picked up the lifeless body of his his precious mate, his Luna Abigail. Her clothes clung to her skin drenched in blood and the unforgiving rain hammered her cold body. Alpha Luke looked down upon her tanned face and her slightly parted lips, as he brushed her wet dark brown hair aside and kissed her forehead gently. "My Abi, I should have never of let you come to battle. But with those eyes of yours, I couldn't say no. I know how hard you trained, especially since you couldn't shift. It's all my fault, and I will live with this regret. I hope Damon will forgive me for not being able to protect you. I love you, my mate, my Luna, my Abi." Alpha Luke carried his mate to the medical tent where he lay her body on the white cart. He then took a moment to close her blue eyes with brown speckles that he remembered were once were full of life. He gently kissed each of her closed eye lids, as tears escaped his own. He then gently caressed her cheek knowing that this will be the last time he will touch his Abigail, the sound of his wolf's whimpering and howls calling out to his deceased mate exhoed in his mind. Part 3. In an alleyway a vampire with broad shoulders cried out as he held his deceased wife who's stomach was cut open allowing her organs to slowly spew out onto the wet cement forming a puddle. His wet sandy blonde hair flew furiously in the strong wind, and though the thunder was resounding, his cry still managed to echo throughout the dark alley. He clenched his wife, Patricia, to his chest trying to be as close to her as he could for the time being. The storm that seemed everlasting was at its end, and the darkness of the night was dissipating as if it were all a distant memory. Though the rain washed away most of the scents, he could still pick up on the scent of dark magic, and amongst that scent there was a faint smell of a foreign vampire lingering on his beatiful pregnant wife's lifeless body. Their baby was no longer in the womb of his wife, and he prayed that perhaps his child may still be alive, though it was forcefully dug out of his wife's stomach.
